When I found out Skip was Rick's brother my jaw dropped. Talk about a ying and a yang. I haven't come across any video of the two together or Skip around Rick's family. I picture his head would blow up from all the kindness.
Never encountered a pair of brothers with such different speaking voices. It's as if they were brought up separately in different regions of the Country.
This skip is much more enjoyable than his TV personality. Authentic.
He’s very emotional retelling his parents abuse of alcoholism. I can feel his emotion.
I'm in shock rn. These two have such a contrasting personality that it's almost night and day between them. Glad to know their hustle can help them get far in life regardless of their difficult background and differing personality.
Night and day between Skip and Rick, yes? I know. So wild how a similar environment can have a different impact on two people - and wow, they both achieved such great things.
What he said about being the oldest child is so true. My mom literally had kids for the wrong reason and it was all taken out on me. I made a lot of mistakes so my siblings can learn from em.

Really presents a great perspective on Skip. The guy looks like he has a hard exterior which I'm sure he does to an extent, but seems like a very genuine guy. Definitely went through a lot and persevered, and I respect him for that

this is an amazing sharing. glad he shared, it's very inspiring and touching. so many more people than we think have this kind of childhood history. I'm like Skip... so lucky i couldn't tolerate alcohol or drugs, otherwise with my addictive tendency i would be a big addict, alcohol and drugs both

I feel Skip on that! My mom let me sip some of her alcohol when I was like 7 or 8 and it was the worst thing I’ve ever drank in my life! Never been into alcohol I think it’s because of that

I wish I stayed as strong as skip.. my friends started drinking when they were in their early teens and I refused it do to the stories about my dad (who wasn't around much).. I decided to try it when I was 19.. worst decision ever.. its easy to drown yourself in the bottom of the bottle..

It seems like a subtle maybe even subconscious slight tone change when talking about his past working in his parents kitchen and then talking about his brother. Skip seems as though talking about his past especially working in the kitchen with a loathing tone then shift to a tone change of sincere pride in Rick’s success. Maybe he was pessimistic about the future of his brother growing up because of their parent’s alcoholism. Skip’s pride of his brother who also came out of that childhood and be a success in spite of their parents failure even though their paths were very different and separated.

It isn’t that strange for adult siblings to not talk much or have little in common. Doesn’t sound to me like they have a problem with each other but just maybe don’t have much reason to be close

No he doesn’t. He flat out said his mom was self centered and only cared about maintaining a good public appearance but was complaining opposite behind doors. He couldn’t even do the eulogy for his mom and couldn’t stand how his mom’s friends said she was God’s greatest gift to the world because she was not that at home. He claims his parents would not encourage him and basically discourage any of his dreams or goals. They had no interest in him and were raging alcoholics and addicts. He to this day finds talking about his childhood to be very difficult and painful. He has been in therapy for many years to help manage the trauma. His parents were so bad he choose to not have kids. He confirms everything skip said.

It’s not, but for people like Skip it is, my sister is the same way, she is not very physical she’s more mental meaning like to work with her brain and talks well. We all have our strength’s. So don’t take with he says to personal.

For a born-again Christian, Skip is a very poor example...his sister passed a couple of years ago, and he never acknowledged her...he also never acknowledged her two children. He is also a tremendous egomaniac. His parents may have not been what he wished, but his sister was an angel, yet he refused to have a relationship with her and her family.
