This nostalgic Barbie song reminds me that autism is not a disability that needs a cure but a superpower to embrace and celebrate. Sometimes I feel like giving up but when I listen to this song, I remember that Anneliese and Erika never gave up and won against Preminger at the end of the movie. People will stigmatize me and belittle me based on my mental health diagnosis. But I just realized that I always prove them wrong. There’s this psychiatric hospital here in Illinois where I used to be a patient. I have fond memories of this place and now all I want is to be a social worker there. Everyone at this hospital believes in me (doctors, nurses, therapists) and they taught me to believe in myself. Thanks to whoever wrote this comment. Giving up is a sin. And you got that right, my success is coming. My dream will come true. This Barbie will become a social worker. I’m claiming it in Jesus Name. Amen 🙏🏻
