Best sequels (second part) of all time: -The Empire Strikes Back -Aliens -Terminator 2 Judgement Day -The Dark Knight -Dune Part 2 (Honorable mentions: The Godfather Part II, Spider-Man 2 and Top Gun Maverick)
Best Sequel I've ever seen. Not only was it more artistically and meticulously crafted than every other sequel I've seen, but I simply enjoyed it way more. Sequels Dune Part 2 outperformed for me include: Godfather Part 2 (I preferred part 1 and 3 more) The Two Towers (I have a lot of problems with the laughably unrealistic combat in all the LotR films) Empire Strikes Back (It's good, but at no point was I blown away by any set-pieces or performances) Terminator 2 (It's been a long time since I've seen it. Liked it more than the first one) The Dark Knight (sensationalized superhero films are whatever for me. All Marvel and DC films will fit here.) Kung Fu Panda 2 (better than the first one, and possibly my favorite ever animated sequel) Paddington 2 (never watched either because the animation was too uncanny valley for me) Toy Story 2 (Everyone loves it, but I preferred Toy Story 4) No. Dune Part 2 is not only my favorite sequel, but also my favorite film of all time, nudging out Joker from its throne (which I didn't think was possible. I relate to Joker on a very deep level since I've been plagued with mental health problems for 15 years). The color palette, the acting, the cinematography, the message, the music, the setting, the set-pieces, the humor, the heartbreak, the special effects, and the way I was left shaking and speechless at the end even after seeing it 5 times in theaters. Dune Part 2 is the greatest cinematic masterpiece in my eyes. Waiting on Joker 2 to see if the throne can be reclaimed.
If you're going to give props to the VFX team then please give props to the sound department too. Timothy's performance in the King is arguably as good or maybe slightly less as good but close to his performance in Dune.
The Dune films are both mediocre as far as writing and acting are concerned, and this one dumbs down the themes of the book so much that it almost defeats the purpose - and even the book was basically a retelling of Lawrence of Arabia in space. Why would you make a video with such an obviously wrong premise?
