    Thank you for doing this left handed! I am using a 4 crochet hook I crochet very loosely. I had to chain more to go around my head so we will see. Thank you again!

      The chain isn’t supposed to go around your head. The rows are how it wraps around your head.

    That is so cute the way you added the pom pom. Who needs a fancy crochet hat pattern. This hat is so pretty and lets the yarn do the talking. 🥰 I really appreciate the left-handed tutorials! Thank you.

    Yes i so grateful for the tutorial. However I had to pull down my entire dork on the other video ( easiest hat) I casted I’m 27. And followed the instructions explicitly. The hat would not fit a doll baby. I compared to several other. And found cast on at minimum is 38 for 2-4 y/o. I’m going to try this again
    I am using Lion head bulky yarn wool ease Quick and something. Lol. And a 8.0 hook as recommended. ( I really do nit like this yarn and will not use again.)
    Thank you.
    Can anyone explain why the the beginning and the end 2 stitches change- stitch type. ( smaller?) Again I’m so happy your instructions are crystal. ANC j fo appreciate. I wish you could add a FAQ And answers. Etc. sorry I can’t abbreviate my phone just won’t allow. Sorry for multiple typos etc. again my phone. Regards.

      Hello! The other hat (easiest hat ever) needs a bulky (6) or BIG yarn to make the right sized hat.
      Big hook and big yarn equals bigger stitches and work.
      The two smaller single crochet at one side of the hat or top of the hat makes the hat curve in at the top.
      Shorter stitches make a smaller hole.
      This way when the hat is pulled together at the top it is more smooth looking. And doesn’t have the extra bulk of the bigger stitches.
      I hope this mostly answers your questions.
      Thank you for finding this tutorial!
      I hope you enjoy making your hat!

      Hi, did you make and match the gauge pattern?
      You can message me on Etsy or Ravelry or Facebook, and we can work on your gauge so this pattern works for you. We cannot exchange photos here or on Ravelry.
      Thank you for your order.

    Great pattern and I respect the effort that went into making it, but I feel like this video is false advertising. I followed the directions exactly and there’s no way this would fit an adult. You clearly show yourself wearing the finished product in the beginning so that’s what I assumed I’d be making. Luckily I just added 10 more rows and was able to save the project. The instructions shown here will make a hat for a 2-4 year old child.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  4 місяці тому

      That would be your gauge not the pattern.
      If you crochet more tightly than me, use smaller yarn, different yarn, different hook, this will create a different result.
      This is the adult size. You could go up your a 6mm hook and use a (5) weight yarn.

      I used the same yarn as you (size 4, worsted) and my pressure wasn’t too loose or too tight; just whatever was needed without any extra effort.
      On top of adding 10 rows to widen it, I added an extra 2.5 inch band to lengthen it. I feel like the extra 8 hours of work I had to do just to make it fit wasn’t due to a gauge or pressure issue; it’s too large of a difference (and it’s not like I have a huge head or anything!)
      All in all I’m happy with the result and I did learn a lot from your video :)

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  4 місяці тому

      @Amber-jb8su different yarns actually work very differently and it is gauge that you’re experiencing.
      A worsted weight by lion brand ombre is MUCH smaller than red heart super saver ombre.
      Did you use a 6mm hook or a 6.5 or the one I used in this video?

    I would not recommend this if you are beginner!! I’ve tried this twice and started over. First time the instructions weren’t to clear. Second time it was WAY to small.
