My unit is in a closet with no plugs nearby. How difficult is it to wire a UV light to the unit for power?

Do these bulbs produce ozone or anything else that could counter the good it does?

Not that I’m aware of. You can buy ozone generators but I’m just looking to keep the germs away from my evaporator coil.

A couple of UV bulbs in your ducts won't do anything at all to stuff in the air flying past it, there simply is not enough exposure time.
It will do a good job of sanitizing the surfaces in the immediate area, that is all.

I did explain that. It’s good for keeping the evaporator coil clean from mold, mildew and algae build up that can happen. For $60 not a bad deal. I’ve taken out my fair share of nasty evaporator coils.

@@CharlietheHandyman Yes, they are good at keeping organic mater off the coil when they are actually shining on the entering air side of the coil, but they have to be rather close, like within the apex of the coil.
On the exiting side of the evaporator coil isn't the worst place for one, but it is far less beneficial, and won't do anything for the entering air side, which is where most of the bad stuff happens.
Depending on the design of the apex baffle on the coil, a setup like in your video may not even shine any UV on the actual coil surface anyway...
Otherwise they are of little benefit, if any.
I've been doing HVAC work for 30 years, and rarely ever find them installed in a useful location, or maintained at all.
Very often they also damage non UV stabilized materials in the equipment or ducts too, and can destroy air filters rather quickly.

@markbeiser I agree with that. They’re often broken most people can’t even manage a filter change. If the video helps somebody I’ll be happy.

Respicaire has some great products for air quality. Find a local dealer I don’t think they sell to the public.
