How to Install a UV LIGHT in your FURNACE!
I bought some for an unheated room since I can do it myself. For the life of me I could not figure out how they snapped together till NOW. Easy Peasy. Thank you
amazing guide! watching this before I start assembling mine to hype me up for the task questions for ya, once it's set up are you able to wiggle it into the right spot, or is it too heavy and I should definitely build it right where it goes? anddd how much space do you think I should leave behind it to have space to put weights on the cable tower? working with a tiny garage for this build and every inch counts 😅
Yea it’s not too heavy I had to shift it around in the room. I put a plate on and then moved it a couple inches away from the wall.
Visually seeing the wiring job during the daylight adds that extra something, something!
Little touch of class I think
Where did you buy the rebuild kit?
Amazon. Link is in the description
Did you have put in any info about the dryer to make sure they are the right parts?
I would just double check before you order
You should make it so the wire go through the bracket, not outside the bracket. You’re going pinch the wire and create a dead short/ fire.
Hey, Awesome video! Did you have any issues with the pulley system? When I pull down it works fine but, on the way back up it takes forever for the weights to hit the bumpers. Almost like there is too much slack. Any ideas on how to fix this? This is my first rack set so please don't come for me.
I had a bunch of slack at first. You have to tighten the cable by moving it up holes on the back of where you would hook the cable attachments. I moved them up to the top position and it’s been smoother. I believe there’s five positions but I’m not looking at this moment. Let me know if that makes any sense.
Yeah idk mam. What is the argument for using the saddle tee? Is it laziness or u just think its ok?
Pure laziness, didn’t want to turn the water off just wanted to get it done. I’ll change it eventually when I get some free time.
No.
Yes please
Yes the hate is going to come. Alpine air is garbage. At least the unit you're installing. I had my unit installed and went through every single tiny bit of adjusting to make it better more efficient etc. was still a waste of money. The humidification that it gives out is minut. I was shocked when the representative told me that the best it could be. I only gained 5% more humidification at best compared to without. this is during the winter where is needed. Yeah they work, barely.
Ive been pleasantly surprised my house went from about 15% to mid 30s which is a win in my leaky 1912 house.
Certainly handyman work
Hey that’s me
Humdistat was too close to the bypass!
Confirmed 👍🏻
Just needs some duct tape.
You ain’t lying
That 26 gauge is too light to be cutting things out in pieces. Offset snips would help more
They would’ve been helpful
I know what side of the Mississippi hahaha
Oh do you?
Saddle valves are illegal in the code books.
Don’t tell the cops! Nobody likes a snitch 🤷🏻♂️
Why’d you cut out a rectangle in like 6 pieces instead of 1?
It’s easier
Thanks man, I like your style 😂
Appreciate it!!!
Saddle vales work and will work for decades. Until you go to turn it off, or it just decides it's served its time. Then things go bad very quick.
I’ve seen that but it will work until I stop being lazy and do it the right way
Yeah but you know “temporary” solutions…
Ah saddle valves. They work until they flood your basement in a year.
I like to gamble
7:34 Only use a saddle valve when you want FLOODED basement! Come on bro, cut the copper....drain the water ....... sweat in a 3/4x1/2 tee.....install a 1/2 stop valve (ball 1/4 turn) and run a 1/4 copper line to the humidifier. No need to cut the white at the humidistat, just run it though and cut the red for the terminals. Its low voltage, so its cleaner to use a crimp fitting instead of huge wire nuts. Should have connected the water line to HOT water, it aids in evaporation. Sorry bro, not much of a handyman....
I agree the saddle valve is temporary. It was Sunday night didn’t feel like dealing with turning the water off. Sweat not a chance propress all the way. As I was editing I was thinking totally unnecessary wiring. It works though didn’t have my A game. It does work though 🤷🏻♂️
@@CharlietheHandyman Propress is for people who cannot sweat a joint and likes to see the o ring fail. Good luck with that !
Fine I’ll sweat it in boss you win this time.
@darknes7800 how do you feel about the zoom lock for refrigeration? It’s coming in hot!
@ Hot, naw. Its coming in for quick (down and dirty) repairs. Even for repairs with them, you still have to evac and pump the system down. So you might as well solder it and do it right. Refrig quick connects have been around for many years, but those screw together for a positive connection. When it comes to refrig work, its SilFos or nothing .
Yes saddle valve nowadays a big no no, but dude tilt it a bit further up the pipe next time. Reduce the chance for sediment building up in it as much as possible, after all it’s not like you’re ever gonna really be able to shut that off. But I think anyone doing this it would be a good idea to at least see if they can find one that has an actual shutoff, in case you have to replace or service this thing.
I agree I’ll put a tee in and a quarter turn valve. Just didn’t feel like turning the water off.
Did know there was a such thing! Thanks for this video!
Glad I could help!
Nice video. I have one that was even professionally installed. I found many times once the filter becomes calcified, rather than down the drain, it leaks out the case. I'm gunshy to use it this winter. I lost a room of carpet last winter due to it overflowing. I now have several water sensors on the floor to hopefully prevent another occurrence. Have you seen this? Am I wrong in assuming the drain hose ( which I checked) is the intended destination for overflows? Thanks for taking the time to show this installation. I understand mine better now.
Yep I’ve seen that. Pretty common if you have hard water in your area. They do make filters you can install on the water line might be worth it if it’s a constant problem. The plastic around the pad is supposed to funnel everything down the drain piping. Once the pad has swelled it has no chance of staying in the plastic piece. Biggest thing is to make sure you change the pad once a season.
Did it need a transformer
No, it gets 24 volts from the furnace control board.
old cloth wire, looks like its from the 1960's
Yep needs to be replaced at some point
You charge 975.00 to change that. Gave her the discount.
That’s the American way!
Thanks for the video! The manufacturer video is pretty decent but sometimes it just helps to see an actual human doing it by hand
Don't you need a dimmable bulb for this to fully work?
This is correct
You dont need to take apart the tub to get hair out. You just need to know how to use a plunger correctly
When you’re removing a tub the drain needs to go
I'll give it a try. Thanks
How many Pulleys are on this model? I wanna upgrade to the Aluminum ones but wanna purchase them before it gets here so I don’t put it together and then put the aluminum ones on when it gets here
There’s 21 if anyone was curious
I always prefer fixing stuff over replacing stuff, but a bathroom sink faucet is 30 bucks
I was going to fix one, but these basic models were on sale for $15 at HD. Feels bad for just trashing the existing, but hard to beat faster and cheaper
I just enjoy fixing stuff and learning new stuff. I’m a HVAC guy so anything out of the ordinary is a welcomed bonus.
Most important step was skipped 😂 I'll wait for it.
Hope everyone’s wife’s are home because you didn’t turn off the water😂
Shhhhhh
Don’t ruin all the fun
They make a tool to pull the cartridges for under $20 if you are doing multiple
That would take away the fun part of swearing at the stupid cartridge.
Its less then 10$ on chineeese site
Bro? Really? A us.infantry.sergeant.of.COMBAT.marines can poop in war with... 💥 BOOM 💥 BOOM 💥 BOOM 💥 so, we're sure a dood can poop in peace with drip ,drip, drip.
Cool
Last time I replaced a cartridge was in a sink that takes 2, it was so corroded I ended up going at it for about 45 minutes with both sides of a claw hammer.
This was a first for me. I was sweating by the time I got it out. I underestimated those o rings. Hopefully the grease helps the next guy.
The camera has been mounted upside down in the video. Something that I am pretty sure I read in Ring stuff that you should not do. I will try and fit the camera right side up when I install mine using those mounting brackets and hope I can. Thanks for the video all the same.
Good eye! You’re correct I had to flip it. Thanks for watching still hope I helped out.
This is the way!
Where to buy this
amzn.to/3DHCV1I
Mmm I didn't know they had a cartridge there, I just learned today. We never finish learning.
Me either this was my first adventure into the faucet game.
Good job
Thanks cowboy!
"abd i said stop balding" your going to be sleeping on the couch tonight😂
outdoors ??
so im planing on getting one of these soon but mine will be out side in scotland the only place i have space is this a good idea and how could i go about giving it some extra protction
I think you’d be alright everything is painted well. I think it would last a while. I would hesitate to put it outside at all.
Exactly what was causing the squeaking on my Maytag. Great instructions, great video! Thanks so much
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
Great job. They all seem so simple once you explain them. Thanks
I think im getting pay some crook
Exactly what was causing the squeaking on my Maytag. Great instructions, great video! Thanks so much
Happy to help!
Who just slaps duct tape
Me
I wonder how to take them apart?
They snap apart pretty easily
@CharlietheHandyman thanks Charlie. I bought some that were connected in 4x4 squares. It seems best to set it at about 45 degrees then push on the seam and work your way across the tile.
