+absolute legend Actually, they can't even see black. I've experienced temporary blindness, and you can't see anything, no colours, it's not white, nor black; it's just an emty void, it's nothing. It's like the world around you doesn't exist, because there is nothing there at all. Temporary blidness is the most terryfying thing I've ever experienced; to not even be able to see the colour black, is truly terryfying.
you know what would be super crappy. If a deaf person who wasnt always deaf had a dream and like their mom or idk some person they loved started saying their name. then they woke up because they were so excited that they could hear again but then they realize it was only a dream. that would fucking suck.
I went deaf two years ago. I experience that very often in my dreams, I even dream about listening to music and when I wake up I keep singing the song I dreamt about so I don´t forget the melody. But it´s not that terrible at all.
Or just imagine being able to see and all. You see colours every day,you see faces, you see places, you see your every favourite thing, and one day it all vanishes. No more colours,no more pretty dresses,no more seeing the faces of the people you love. You lay down to sleep and dream. You see everything again, the morning sky, your beautiful wife. You get too happy and wake up.And in a second its all gone. Its all black. You sigh and think "well at least I can see stuff in my dreams" but that isn't the end of it. Your dreams start to fade away. You try to cling on to whatever you can still see in your dreams. You start to forget the face of your love, your favourite colour, you dread that it'll all fade. You hope that you'll see it all again in your dreams, but you're holding on to a dead cause. And then the last bits of sight leave you slowly and painfully and you can never have it back.
Surf Man or worse imagine a person who Is colourblind they can't see colour at all. They find the colour aid and start to fall in love with colour. And then they go blind.
yacine aouimeur Honestly I really respect blind and death people because they have life a lot harder than us that don't and I'm thankful I can hear/see
Maybe you guys should be more careful with what you say I am hard of hearing and I think it easier, but still don't you think everyone is the same blind of deaf just be happy who you are, you never know what might happen just think of who read this comment pls
You know it's not difficult is different kinds of blindness you shouldn't be talking about why people like that specially the blind people on the Internet like me
It sucks.. but its not so bad as if you were born with it.. you dont kno how it is to see and hear.. its much wors if you are a grown up and cant see and hear anymore.
I am deaf and don't feel bad for us. We hate when people feel bad just because we are deaf. All we just cant do is hearing and that's it! I born deaf but I raised in the hearing family. I can orally speak. I can dream and I am pretty sure I still remember what people say in my dreams.
That's why I hope I never have an accident that blinds me. I would try not to let it discourage me but I'm a very lucid dreamer so I know that I will dream like my old self as if it were real but then wake up to being blind again
I'm deaf in my right ear and kinda my left to and I have skulleosis witch is I have curves in my spine and I have 2 curves and it's like a S literate a S!!!!!!!!!
I'm not deaf, but I do remember that when I was younger, I realized that my thoughts didn't occur to me as a voice with a verbal language expressed like how I would use the verbal language to physically speak. They're just conceptual thoughts that float in my head. Realizations, discoveries, mental/physical memories, emotions, and the likes, but not so much a language that I would have heard in my mind in order to put these concepts into words. I am bilingual, and I never thought in either languages until English became my dominant language now. It's just an abstract understanding, that was/is still my way of thinking most of the time.
Same, I never seem to have dreams with smell, taste or touch. Probably because sight and hearing are my main senses which I tend to remember most. In order of memory: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell and Touch. I also have very creative dreams. I find it harder to visualize, imagine and create taste, smell and touch in my brain. I should really try and pay more attention to my other senses more so I can get more realistic dreams which is generally good simce I don't often get nightmares nowdays. I have very creative and imaginary fantasy dreams. Taste, smell amd touch tend to be used mostly when I am awake, when I am asleep those senses sort of shut down in brain.
+Caleb Smith Ofc Deaf peoples dream in text or sign language. I know this is pretty strange, but I am hard of hearing myself and I go to deaf school. Deaf peoples told me so. Some of them actually dreams of voices.
+Jaslyn Guzman I think he means if you were born deaf, what language do you think in, because you were never taught any kind of words, or heard any words. That's VERY GOOD question that I would like to know. Its probably baby language.
What voice does your head "speak"? Either dreams or just general thoughts. I speak three languages, and my first language has been the main voice of my thoughts for most of my life (I'm 27), but since I moved to the country where my second language is the official language (8 years ago), my head changes languages depending of how long I've been submersed in the language. Then I visit my family and the voice changes back to my first language. If I've been sick and stayed indoors for a week or so, and almost only had access to my computer and/or TV, then my "head voice" turns to English for some period of time - maybe half a day, or so, at a time. It's pretty fascinating to me, as it happens without me "knowing" it. It isn't a concious choice. I also become more proficient in the language that is currently active in my head, for the period it lasts.
Lemonz1989 I am a young Polish girl. I have lived in Poland and spoke Polish my whole life. But since I started to read articles in English, watched English videos and other things I started to think in English without even realising. Now it's hard for me to think in Polish if I don't focus on it, evem thought I use this language everyday.
I can speak English & Spanish, my first language is Spanish but i been speaking english for about 5 years, everyday, still my dreams are always in spanish.
So basically Blind/Deaf people dream about tastes and smells a lot more and experience more nightmares.... ...Man it would suck to have nightmares about food... although its something fat people should experience...
I recently learnt that my school hired two blind AND deaf teachers to teach sign language to pupils. If i weren't as busy as I am with my finals, i'd definitly attend those classes. Awesome
Dreams are very interesting. I became paralyzed at age 10 (I'm 20 now) and I could still walk in all my dreams for the 1st few years. Now I can't.. So I get what they're saying.
True, I mean I'm not saying these type of videos bother me but they are seeming to be more and more like Vsauce. I personally enjoy the top 10's, top 5's, and so forth

I have two uncles that are blind and partly deaf, they always talk about things they 'see', it's actually very interesting to listen to them describe what happens in their dreams.
That's what I thought before I watched some videos about these people on UA-cam. Turns out they have a pretty difficult life but they can communicate and even live on their own (with a guide dog and some help from time to time).
Oh god, got the concept of a nightmare involving smell stuck on my mind... Can't imagine anything worse... My mind better not pull that shit on me tonight :P

+Cookie_In_A_Cake I once had a nightmare that some kid was walking up to me with a creepy smile on his face, about to stab me in the eyes with a needle
If someone was blind and deaf from birth, what would they dream of? I once nursed an old lady in a nursing home who'd been blind and deaf from birth, resulting in her being unable to speak also. She was 'kept' in a corner, laid back in a comfy chair with the front extended out in front for her legs to rest on. Once a week she was visited by an aromatherapist who massaged oils into her arms and legs. She would smile and hum tunelessly while this happened. It made me wonder how she percieved reality, which made me also wonder how 'human' she thought considering that she had absolutely no comprehension of the world or anything in it beyond touch. Did she realise that she was one of many? Did she understand she was a human being, even? Did she understand anything whatsoever beyond her own sense of self, whatever that was? The more I thought about it the more I was blown away by how deep the possible answers would be. This video was very interesting, good job.
My dreams are incredibly full bodied. Sometimes they have an epic soundtrack. I can't imagine not being able to feel, taste, smell, hear, or see in a dream. Someone else said that you can't read or write in dreams either, but I do both in dreams all the time. I read a book once. They're also usually very complex with full plot lines and everything.
The thing is, people say that they'd kill themselves but if you're blind, you find ways to deal with it. You find ways to "cope". If I went deaf though, that would be horrible because being both blind and deaf would scare me
You could find other things. The world's not just about seeing, and it would be horrible if you lose your sight, but it wouldn't be the END of the world.
I would rather be deaf, so I could do sports etc, my biggest fear is to get paralyzed in a way that will make me incapable of doing athletic activities. Ironicly I do g-tramp and tricking, which means flipping 3-4m over a trampoline and doing double flips on concrete.
Like you but rather than a 'talking' voice it's visual sign language (If they are a signer) I'm deaf but I'm only severely moderately deaf and it's getting worse with age, being born deaf I use hearing aids to hear and so I can hear and speak 'normal' but as I get older, like I'm 21 and I'm already using my hearing aids at the highest they can go and mishearing all the time so yeah....only down hill from here. XD
So technically the brain does research on its self? If so shouldn't we already know everything about the brain since... uh... this is getting to confusing. Banana
+Creepy Wolf Definitely. I know for a fact that there are erotic fiction audiobooks out there, so I'm sure that blind people could use those. There are also probably some steamy novels translated into braille that they could read, and if a blind person wanted to enjoy visual porn, then I think just the audio from the video and their imagination could work wonders. I believe that I also once saw a picture of a form of physical pornography for the blind. It was written in braille, and a photo of a nude woman was traced in raised dots alongside it. I can't remember where I saw it, but it's an interesting idea.
I myself become completely deaf when I sleep, as I take off my hearing devices. I can tell you that sleeping deaf is like floating. You can't hear anything, but you can see, touch, and taste. Words are repeated in my head in a form of capitalization. Its a dream you experience by floating.
Mana Uzumaki you dream. You have about several dreams a night actually, but you remember few. Sometimes you don't remember them at all, since they weren't actual experiences.
SNOWBOARDINGFISHER that could mean that 1. you are pregnant. or 2. you are about to take on a huge responsibility in life and depending on how you take in the thought of pregnancy in your dream is how you may take on this new responsibility. ex. If you are anxious your life may become very anxiety-ridden if you are angry you may become hostile if you are happy then you have a positive out look on life (and that is good ^-^)
I believe this is also true with people who are missing something other than a physical sense. Whenever I dream I always have some sort of difficulty walking. I'm never able to walk easily. Note: I was born with a physical disability that affects my legs. When I was little I could walk with a walker, now I've been wheelchair bound for several years.
I think there was a Soldier who lost his legs, his eyes, his ears, his tongue and his arms to mines in WW2, he's the one the Metallica song "One" is based on
When I was younger I was very curious about if the deaf and blind could even dream at all. I wondered how they felt about it and if they liked the experience at all if they could even have it. But now my curiosity is cured. Thank you.
it is so amazing and to know that the only feeling or most common feeling that have while dreaming is FEAR ... if you think about it... it becomes kinda obvious too, cuz they don't know anything in this world and that what fear is, not knowing what's happening, not knowing how things are, not knowing what's out there... i could only imagine how they feel and that terrifies me.
This is really creepy, just imagine that you're blind and then you have a nightmare about something biting you in the dark, even after you wake up, all you'll be seeing is darkness.
the thought of being blind scares me.
same like people without eyes.. THEY CAN'T SEE ANYTHING NOT EVEN BLACK OR WHITE LIKE WHAT?!
same like people without eyes.. THEY CAN'T SEE ANYTHING NOT EVEN BLACK OR WHITE LIKE WHAT?!

Having a dream where you can see if you're blind or if you can hear if you're deaf must be really satisfying

They don't think in a language. They think in terms of actions. You don't need a word applied to an action to be able to think about that action.

For some odd reason, I used to be afraid of going blind lol.
I still am
***** Same for me aswell.
+Cookie_In_A_Cake I once had a nightmare that some kid was walking up to me with a creepy smile on his face, about to stab me in the eyes with a needle
I am
Toxinic some ppl actually die if they fall asleep they have to make special provisions for resting
what language do deaf people think in??
+toronz ali im almost deaf (since birth) but i think in danish :b (im from denmark)
+isnissen so am i! WTF burde vi ikke sove???
+isnissen so how did you write this comment?
Spoody man im not deaf i just hear very very bad :b
+Spoody man lol omg plz tell me your joking.
I still dont know how Helen Keller found out how to communicate without the knowledge of sound or vision.
Imagine having *no* senses. That'd be like living in a dead body, not knowing anything about the world around you.
Who can taste or smell in their dreams? Who omg? I wanna know!
I can and once I ate an incredibly delicious chocolate bar. Yum 😂
I can.... I have food dreams a lot actually.
I've never tasted or smelled in a dream. Not even felt anything really. Usually I'm standing or sitting or flying and talking or listening
Tasting,Yes but not smelling...
Pssh, deaf. I can hear some. Oh wait, I am deaf and loving my life. :-D
I've always thought of this question 😮
imagine being blind and having a nightmare. when you wake up you can't see what you fear
Love these smooth, Windows 10-like animations! Very good job :)
If I was blind, I would actually kms. I feel so bad for people with vision problems. Being def or mute is also troublesome.
The thing is, people say that they'd kill themselves but if you're blind, you find ways to deal with it. You find ways to "cope". If I went deaf though, that would be horrible because being both blind and deaf would scare me
But I wouldn't be able to live not being able to see girls, watch sports, watch movies, e.t.c.
You could find other things. The world's not just about seeing, and it would be horrible if you lose your sight, but it wouldn't be the END of the world.
It would be for me. I couldn't live without sports. Movies and other activities just adds even more insult to injury.
I don't always comment but when I do...
+Exploding Poo I like his comment out of spite
He got a like
you RKO
U don't finish your sentences
+Exploding Poo lol
I would rather be deaf, so I could do sports etc, my biggest fear is to get paralyzed in a way that will make me incapable of doing athletic activities. Ironicly I do g-tramp and tricking, which means flipping 3-4m over a trampoline and doing double flips on concrete.
Do you know blind people can do sports too
Gabriella Fletcher Of course, I'm not dumb, but for my spor hearing is not a factor, therefore I would choose being deaf
I'm so grateful for my sight and hearing we are so lucky to be able to see our parents faces and hear people's voices
You guys always have something different every video! It is amazing!
I allways wonder how do deaf people think?
Yeah, me too.
XD
+DuSky Glider good luck. whatever happens there is always hope
if the deaf person has a good understanding of English (or any language), then he/she will think normally, like us.
how the fuck theycan have good understandig of English, when they never fucking heard.
Thumbs up if you're blind and deaf.
Lol how would they know this comment even exists, or even this video is playing lol
+blake lauritsen 😒 that's the joke
:P
+wowcat um how would people thumbs up you if the are blind and deaf
Oh wait I just thought aboutt it
I'm blind. I'm trying to remember where the thumb up is. 👎🏾
Interesting.
Indeed.
I concur.
Agreed.
I squat over the toilet seat so I don't get my butt wet
+michael koley wat?
This was actually very insightful. I didn't know you made anything else besides top tens.
love this channel i've been subscribed since about 20,000 i really hope you guys never run out of ideas and stop posting videos, keep up the good work
So technically the brain does research on its self? If so shouldn't we already know everything about the brain since... uh... this is getting to confusing.
Banana
am i the only who doesnt hear in my dreams eventho im not deaf
could mean you will be deaf one day, and you're just psychic and predicting your own deafness! DUN DUN DUUUUNNN
JOSH DUN
how can a koreaboo not hear their dreams.
+well well hahahaha i'm laughing my ass off 😒🖕🏼
Tae is also my bae 😘
imagine not being able to see porn, omg how would you fap. I appreciate life a lot more
+Creepy Wolf maybe
+Creepy Wolf it does lol im blind and i like that shit a lots
Very cool editing, has a certain futuristic feel and I really like it, keep it up!
aha and how did those blind and deaf women communicate?
Ikr
They hold out their hand and a person would touch their hand to talk to them. Sign language but more touchy. ^^
true
+DuSky Glider its called tactile
So you rather press the comment button to ask the question than press the google tap to find it out yourself? How amusing.
Hey there internet, I'm not blind and deaf but I suddenly lost the ability to dream in my sleep two years ago. I want them back.
lol me to but the catch I I only get nightmares
+CockroachBuddy I only dream once every year :(
You dream you just don't remember them...
***** who was It hinata from Naruto ?
Mana Uzumaki you dream. You have about several dreams a night actually, but you remember few. Sometimes you don't remember them at all, since they weren't actual experiences.
But the question I have do deaf people think?
+Molilata MC explain that please😂
I am deaf and I can think with sound.
Obviously.
+Dania Jocelyn Orizaba I know of a deaf model. That person is seriously ignorant.
+Brenson Brosh so I want to know how blind dream. Did you forget?
I never thought a video of a person talking about how blind/ deaf people dream would be so interesting.
Once again, as always... Mind = Blown - AND you keep the fascinating up close and personal. Great job.
If i had a choice to lose either Sight or Hearing. Id choose hearing, so i dont have to hear my girlfriend bitch at me
+Bitter Blue have you had a girlfriend before? its always a bumpy road n its normal
+absolute legend Perfectly said
Face reveal!!!!!!!!!
I KEEP DREAMING THAT I AM PREGNANT
SNOWBOARDINGFISHER that could mean that
1. you are pregnant.
or
2. you are about to take on a huge responsibility in life and depending on how you take in the thought of pregnancy in your dream is how you may take on this new responsibility.
ex. If you are anxious
your life may become very anxiety-ridden
if you are angry
you may become hostile
if you are happy then you have a positive out look on life (and that is good ^-^)
Pregnancy means beginnings: New feelings or possibilities in being born. It's a very good dream to have :)
wow. just wow. this is absolutely amazing, and one of the best short documentaries I have ever seen.
I've been wandering about this for a couple of years! Thank you!
The narrator sounds like baertaffy
lmfao i was thinking the same thing
It is Baer
Can deaf people hear their thoughts?
yes, you dont need your ears to hear your thoughts
Like is it weird when you don't have your hearing aid?
hey! why your captions not good? Deaf people wanna watch this lol
this is so intersting. i started with hair transformations, went through korean beauty operations and landed here. thank you internet :D
I believe this is also true with people who are missing something other than a physical sense. Whenever I dream I always have some sort of difficulty walking. I'm never able to walk easily. Note: I was born with a physical disability that affects my legs. When I was little I could walk with a walker, now I've been wheelchair bound for several years.
can deaf people hear themselves talking in their head?
I think about that too...
bobby beer deaf people can think letter but they cannot hear
What if you had no senses?
impossible
+Crea tion I was just wondering
Well I think it could be possible
I think there was a Soldier who lost his legs, his eyes, his ears, his tongue and his arms to mines in WW2, he's the one the Metallica song "One" is based on
+Ein alter rostiger Toaster Also his nose, so he lost most senses

Haha I suck
Very interesting, great job Top Trending. Makes me appreciate my senses.
This is so interesting, thanks for being an amazing channel.
I love the guys at top trending .. U guys are really unique
This is really creepy, just imagine that you're blind and then you have a nightmare about something biting you in the dark, even after you wake up, all you'll be seeing is darkness.
wow, always nice to find an honestly interesting and educational video on yt.
The title's question is the best question I've ever heard/read in my life! Can't believe it's not a common question
