    I myself was wondering why you would climb those trails 100 times,
    but since the view is beautiful and its relatively close to your house, it makes total sense.
    Well done Quin. Here's to 100 more :)

    What an achievement! Congrats! And I absolutely agree. Iwate-san is a magnificent volcano. I was hiking up there on the Omisaka Trail a few years ago before the pandemic. While it is not an easy hike, I also felt that it wasn't that difficult, except for a few exposed areas a bit further up (which I think had ropes or chains to support), but mostly just needs a bit of endurance and stamina. Fortunately, I didn't meet any horseflies up on the summit at that time. I hope your neck is ok!

    Hi Quinlan, great looking hike, I always enjoy watching your treks up Mt. Iwate. Do you have a problem with ticks in that area? I really hate those things, they definitely seem to be on the increase here in the UK.

    • @cypriennezed5640
      @cypriennezed5640 6 місяців тому

      Same question from me, they're everywhere in grassy and forest areas on the US East Coast.

    • @GoNorthJapan
      @GoNorthJapan  6 місяців тому +1

      I actually have never had a tick on me hiking in Japan. I know they exist, but I think they're more common the farther southwest you go.. and there aren't that many up here! Fingers crossed that it stays that way! (I'm from a place in the States where ticks are everywhere, so I am very vigilant.)

    I think a quiet, meditative hike is a perfect way to celebrate your 100th climb milestone as getting away from the rat race and civilisation strikes me as one of the best aspects of hiking in such a place. Your videos of these hikes never get old, as every time I watch one, I'm catching myself being blown away by the views and scenery. • @GoNorthJapan
      @GoNorthJapan  6 місяців тому +1

      Ahahaha, thank you! But actually there are a number of people that have climbed Mt. Iwate WAAAAAAAAAAY more times than me. I know one guy, Takashi-san, who is over 1,000 summits, and other guy Chiba-san that's in his late 70s that has climbed it 640-ish times. So my 102 is a cute number compared to them, LOL
      However- I don't think there are any non-Japanese people that have climbed it more than me. Maybe in that category I can get a special mention?
