There are two main benefits to not keeping a physical sim card. 1. It pretty much makes it useless if someone steals your phone - In the past, they'd immediately pop out your sim, put a new one in, put it on a new carrier and boom, your phone is stolen. This can't be done anymore 2. It's super easy, when in another country, to get minutes/text/data added to your esim, so that you don't have to pay super expensive roaming charges esim, without a doubt, is the way to go. Now if only I could get my working! It's Christmas day on a Sunday, these suggestions didn't work for me and AT&T is closed. Grrrrr!!!
Dude you are the man, I have been going through trying to figure out why this thing wasn’t transferring for like an hour until I found your video and realized my old phone didn’t have a passcode set up and that was what was stopping it. Thank you very very much!
I think that was a great video! The only piece of feedback on the offer would be too sure how much simpler it is with quick transfer if the Carrier supports it while doing the initial iPhone data transfer.
Does that mean that if it doesn't allow you to transfer while setting the new iphone up that I can do it after its set up and logged in? It says that the number wont transfer during the initial set up of the new iphone, but it will once its logged in and I go to the settings on the new iphone?
Unfortunately, this did not go so smoothly for me. I had to spend an hour on a phone call with AT&T to transfer from my 13 pro max physical sim to 14 pro max esim. I tried the transfer exactly as shown in the video, but the new phone kept giving a message, "unable to activate, contact AT&T". Thanks Apple for wasting my time!!
Straight to the point video! That is what we all need. Thank you. i have a question on the Delete Esim function. When you delete the Esim, does it cancel your line from the carrier? Also, what happens if you deleted your Esim by accident?
Can you transfer minutes from a physical sim to an Esim? I have a prepaid service, Tracfone, to be exact. No one else can seem to do it. I purchased an iPhone 14 pro and had to take it back because no one could do it? It has been said that until all the prepaid services get on board with the esim, we won't be able to do it. I have a couple years of prepaid time. I can't lose it.
Thank you for this video! My issue is that my old phone does not turn on at all, hence the reason for needing a new phone. In that case, how would I go about the transfer?
Hello I would like to know if you have video review 2 eSIM working on daily… like have one for business & another one personal… I have 2 iPhone but wanna see if I can using only one iPhone for both line…. Can you help me on that?
It goes smooth but not as smooth as what he showed in his video coz my network provider is Mint Mobile. So i need to access their app and order their esim for free using my same number. So now i am on esim. Phone setup is really smooth. Everything complete in less than an hour depending on your saved apps/files.
@ARL McTan thanks for the reply! mine was pretty seamless i have at&t. My iphone x was not updated to ios 16 but it still transferred my sim to esim on my new 14
Sounds like there is no way to reverse the process. 👎🏽 Don't like being locked into an eSIM only option because I have multiple phones and they are not all eSIM compliant 🤦🏽♂️
I have the Samsung S22 Ultra. I am using the Samsung message app to send text messages. When I send a text message to someone I get the visual notification, "Delivered" under the text message, to let me know, the message was delivered. But at the same time I also get an audio sound WITH the visual notification to let me know the text was sent. I get the sound that is the default sound that is under the “sounds and vibration under the “notification sound”. I do NOT want to get an audio sound after I send the text message. I only want to see the visual notification, "Delivered", to let me know, the message was delivered. How do I stop the audio sound, when I send text messages? I also disabled the option “hear outgoing message sounds” under the general settings.
So what would happen once you transfer the sim information over to the Esim phone and you remove the sim from the old phone and you want to transfer back to the old phone do you still need the sim you removed or Does it convert into Esim? Also does all your content from your old phone to the new one like texts, pictures and any other stuff you have on it?
I am trying to transfer sim from iPhone 11 to eSIM on iPhone 15, and it’s giving error- “Sim in your old iPhone does not support eSIM transfer.” How can I transfer in this case?
My question is, I upgraded a line on a US carrier but I’ll need to activate it first with the sim “it comes with” or do you think I’ll be able to do what you’ve done in the beginning stages of the set up?
Depends on the carrier I think. But say it’s a BYOD then you will be fine doing eSim only… but if it’s a device that has pSim and purchased from the carrier typically as of now they want to ax to care with pSim then you can activate with eSim after. Imagine that will change in the future
