    You know one of the most important rules of Irish grammar I think i learned which totally helps with spelling is the broad to broad, slender to slender vowel rule. Obviously exceptions, like Gaeltacht. But otherwise, it really helped me. Might be useful to impart?

    • @LearnIrish

      I have already mentioned this useful rule in previous videos

    Context-based teaching like this is the best.
    It's part of why learning in a foreign country happens faster.

    I love your voice in the English language or Irish language. If I read and infered correctly -Dane'- is your name. Well you're good at this I hope you can keep doing it more than awhile longer.

    There is a difference between Clann and Teaghlach. Clann just specifically means children now. Teaghlach is "household"

    • @LearnIrish
      @LearnIrish  4 роки тому +4

      Yes allegedly so, but they can overlap, a family unit could potentially include children as well. I wasn't intending on getting into too much detail in this particular video.

      Derry is a great place I'd love to visit, only problem is that it's almost the furthest county away from me in Wexford.

      @@LearnIrish weird that only County I’ve not been to out of 32 is Wexford. We should maybe do a holiday house swap and meet in the midlands for a pint

      @@LearnIrish I’m nearer Belfast than Derry city although in County Derry. Mid Ulster. Derry interesting city. I was in bogside January Bloody Sunday 50th commemoration. V sad. Coldest day ever but glad I went. Eamonn Mc cann introduced bernadette devlin McAliskey by saying that 50 years ago she was making a speech here but got interrupted by paratroopers opening fire so had come today to finish her speech! Was with a cousin who has been there in 72 as a student. Very welcoming ppl. Big Irish language revival going on. Classes everywhere and new Irish language schools. And also even in east Belfast where David irvines sister v committed to the language so am glad it’s not just those from Irish Catholic backgrounds.
