திருப்புகழ் Thiruppugazh துப் பார் அப்பு (திருத்தணிகை) thuppArappu (thiruththaNigai)

துப் பார் அப்பு ஆடல்தீ ... உணவைத் தரும் மண், நீர், அசைகின்ற
நெருப்பு,
மொய்க்கால் சொல் பா வெளி ... நெருங்கி வீசும் காற்று, புகழ்மிக்க
பரந்த ஆகாயம் (ஆகிய ஐம்பொரும் பூதங்களும்),
முக்குணமோகம் ... மூன்று குணங்களும் ( த்வம், ராஜ ம், தாமசம்),
மூவாசைகளும் (மண், பெண், பொன்)
துற்றாய ... (மேலே சொன்னவை யாவும்) நெருக்கமாக
வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதும்,
பீறல் தோலிட்டே சுற்றா ... (ஒன்பது துவாரங்களுடன்*) கிழிந்த
தோலை வைத்துச் சுற்றி மூடப்பட்டதும்,
மதனப் பிணிதோயும் ... காமநோய் தோய்ந்துள்ளதும் ஆகிய
இப் பாவக் காயத்து ... இந்தப் பாவம் நிறைந்த உடல்மீது
ஆசைப்பாடு எற்றே ... ஆசைப்படுவதை மேற்கொண்டு,
உலகிற் பிறவாதே ... உலகில் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் யான் பிறக்காமல்,
எத்தார் வித்தாரத்தே கிட்டா ... உன்னைத் துதிக்காதவர்களின்
கல்வி சாமர்த்தியத்தில் கிடைக்காததும்
எட்டா அருளைத் தரவேணும் ... அவர்களுக்கு எட்டாததுமான உன்
திருவருளைத் தந்துதவ வேண்டும்.
தப்பாமற் பாடிச் சேவிப்பார் ... தவறாமல் உன்னையே பாடித்
தொழுபவர்கள் எவரெவரோ
தத்தாம் வினையைக் களைவோனே ... அவரவர்களின் வினைகளை
நீக்குபவனே,
தற்கு ஆழிச்சூர் செற்றாய் ... செருக்கும், ஆக்ஞாசக்கரமும் உடைய
சூரனை அழித்தவனே,
மெய்ப் போதத்தாய் ... மெய்யான சிவஞான பண்டிதனே,
தணிகைத் தனிவேலா ... திருத்தணிகை மலைமீது வீற்றிருக்கும்
ஒப்பற்ற வேலவனே,
அப் பாகைப் பாலைப் போல் சொல் ... அந்த சர்க்கரைப் பாகு
போன்ற, பாலைப் போன்ற, இனிய சொல்லும்,
காவற் பாவை ... தினைப்புனக் காவல் தொழிலும் உள்ள வள்ளியை
தனத்தணைவோனே ... மார்புறத் தழுவுபவனே,
அத்தா நித்தா முத்தா சித்தா ... உயர்ந்தவனே, என்றும்
உள்ளவனே, பாசங்களில் நீங்கியவனே, சித்தனே,
அப்பா குமரப் பெருமாளே. ... பரம பிதாவே, குமாரக் கடவுளே,
பெருமாளே.

thuppA rappAdal thee moykkAl choRpA veLi: The fertile Earth, Water, flickering Fire, breezy Wind and the famous wide Sky (the five Elements, in all);
muk guNamOgam: the three characteristics (sathvam, rAjasam and thAmasam) and the three desires (for the land, woman and gold)
thutrA ya: have all been inextricably combined (to form this body).
peeRal thO littE sutrA: The tattered skin (full of nine portals*) is wrapped around this body!
madhanap piNi thOyum: This body is afflicted with diseases created by Love God (manmathan).
ippA vakkA yathth AsaippAdetrE: This sinful body is something not to be enamoured of and
ulagkil piRavAdhE: I do not wish to be born again and again in this world.
eththAr viththAr aththE kittA: The Grace that can never be secured by the vast intellect of people who fail to worship You
ettA aruLaith thara vENum: and that Grace which is beyond their reach is the One You should shower on me.
thappAmaR pAdi sEvippAr: For those who worship You without fail or interruption,
thaththAm vinaiyaik kaLaivOnE: You remove all their bondages due to their karma.
thaRkA zhichUr setrAy: You destroyed the arrogance and the sovereign rule of SUran, the demon.
maiy bOdhaththAy thaNigai thanivElA: You are the true scholar of Saivism and, holding Your unique spear, You have chosen ThiruththaNigai as Your abode!
appA gaippAlai pOl soRkAvaR pAvai: VaLLi, the damsel having a voice so sweet as sugar and milk, was guarding the millet field,
thanath aNaivOnE: and You went to embrace her!
aththA niththA muththA chiththA: Oh Supreme One, Oh Eternal One, Oh the one beyond all bonds, and Oh Mystical One!
