After years of being around many Vietnamese families I finally decided to invest in studying Vietnamese so that I can be fully immersed in Vietnamese Culture. Thank you so much for these videos!
This is great, it gives such interesting cultural insights and fun phrases. Do you know where the phrase about putting horns on someone came from? It’s used in the Balkans and Turkey as well with exactly the same meaning.
@@HowToVietnamese Yes they do but this one is so idiomatic and specific that I wonder if it came from the French or Portuguese. Seems to be all around the Mediterranean. There’s even a hand signal to signify it (fist with index and little fingers raised, like horns on a bull).
why is the translation from Vietnamese to English seem so segmented? So hard to put these together because my mind grammatically in English isn't the right way in Vietnamese T_T
I know right! Tell yourself there are things that will not make sense! (because every language is different). So just have to accept them as they are, and try repeating/memorizing smaller phrases/chunks, so you can use them automatically without translating in your head. I'm doing this to learn another language too!
I just found your channel today, and I already LOVE your format. Your explanations are clear, the breakdown of sentences and word meanings are clear, and the content is awesome. Cảm ơn em rất nhiều! 😃 [ SUBSCRIBE ]
Thank you for such kind words! Em cũng cám ơn anh nhiều! Let me know what type of content you would like to see more: Interesting topics (like this video), listening practice, Vocab by topics, or something else 😃
@@HowToVietnamese Dạo này bài học yêu thích của mình gồm tiếng lóng và thành ngữ! With that, I most enjoy practicing conversations & expressions that contain more feelings or emotional expression. (Hence, why I like this video.) It's one thing to know how to greet someone & ask questions, order food, or get directions - but being able to convey how you feel (and how strongly you feel) is really fun for me right now. Anything that allows me to be more colorful or playful when I speak! A few examples: - "I like that" is good to know, "That's amazing!" is better - "That's bad" is good to know, but "that really sucks" is better - in one of your other videos: "xạo" is good, but "xạo bà cổ" - that was awesome! 😃😃😃 Lastly, again - the notation & subtitles on-screen are neat & organized, the pace of your speaking is smooth, and the overall quality of your videos are on point. Keep 'em coming, Caroline!

Yes! Also reading it once slowly and then in a more natural rhythm is very helpful!

Really? I have no idea! It’s so cool that different languages have phrases that convey the same thing!

I ever ask my teacher to design in this way :
I like
I love
I think etc
Then add on bit by bit .
Hope you can come out something even more simple .
Hi there. Thanks for your feedback. You may find simpler sentence structures & vocab breakdown in my other videos for basic/beginner topics.
Hi thanks
Cảm ơn nhiều 😊

Xin chao em, I heard a saying along the lines of " Your a really nice guy " but expressed as a negative rather than a compliment, do you know it ?
When speaking to your lover, do you just say 'gau' or 'gau bong'? For example, can I say 'Chao gau, khoe kohm?'
Nothing understand, but very interesting👍
Haha. At least you find it interesting. Stay tuned! I'll be making more videos for complete beginners :)

But the word size of English caption is too small to read.
