I got mine! Absolutely love it! I got an artist wood series.... korina body & neck... cocobolo fretboard... this freaking guitar has the best tone I've ever heard! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for uploading! Great to hear a demo that's not loaded with overdrive. Exactly the color top, and back that I'm gunning for - beautiful. Have done the factory tour; they're absolutely obsessed with perfection. Enjoy! And btw, really sharp playing!
You're welcome and thanks for the kind words! I know it's soaked in reverb but I just wanted to plug in and play and not mess with it at all. Yes, PRS is obsessed with perfection - and they're damn good at it!
Just got a 10-top 594 - WOW 😳 Expensive AF but a whole ‘nother level than my LP Custom. Never thought a guitar could be as well constructed as the 594.
those youtube videos are doing good to PRSguitars. PRS isnt the ONLY guitar i love but when comes the time for me to drop some on the ULTIMATE guitar, I know for sure i won't be looking anywhere else.
Man I love listening to you just jamming away - such a tasty guitar player. I just ordered a 594 so was watching some of your vids with it. That Dr Z with the verb on sounds great even thru the iPhone. Thanks for sharing man - love your channel and what you're all about. Cheers!
please make a video playing that thing with the tone rolled back and a clean sound just to see the jazz qualities... does it get mellow... i really like this guitar!
AHHH - will do, and yes it does! This was just the first playing impression - not a full demo. Just wanted to show people the first time it came out of the box :)
i have a hard time finding one to test, but i really like this guitar. dropping 4k for a guitar is something you don't do without testing... But i'm more in the jazzy side of blues (!!!!) and i haven't yet found a video of someone doing that. You are a very good guitarist... i'll wait for that video!
I have a mid 2000's PRS McCarty, which is slighly different from this model, but still very nice. The fit and finish are impeccable and it has held up very well over the years. Still looks brand new. However, as much as I like it, it still doesn't sound as nice to me as my Les Paul R9. I know they are different guitars, but similar enough that you would think you could get similar sounds out of a McCarty. However, the McCarty always sounds a little thinner and more like a strat. I can't quite get the sounds I want out of it. On the other hand, the intonation is perfect up and down the neck and it sounds very clear and clean. By contrast, the Les Paul doesn't feel as even and consistent and clean and perfect up and down the neck.
Thanks dude! Next time I'll do a proper recording - I just wanted to do something quick and dirty as soon as I picked it up. A True first impression :)
It's just so beefy. Honestly it's my favorite - over the custom 24, but clearly that's subjective. It's just got so much spank to it with the big neck.
I Just ordered one but i can still change my mind, so I have two questions and hopefully you can answer them. I´m used to playing a Fender Strat just to give a general backround. 1) Is the neck very thick? Is it easy to play? or does the neck makes it a little bit harder to shread? 2) How do the LT pickups handle Drive and Distortion? can you still play modern hard rock such as Alter Bridge and Classic Heavy Metal like Iron Maiden etc with the 594? Thanks A lot!
I got my 594 6 weeks ago and i`m completely in love with the guitar, it plays beautiful and those pickups can do anything. You can play anything from jazz to metal, the guitar is really worth it! The best PRS core model guitar there is out there in my opinion! Thanks!
@@rz0svp yes I bought it and its the best guitar ive ever own. It plays incredible, sounds incredible. I also bought a Custom 24, and its great, but the 594 will allways be Big Papa.
@@michaelzschoche2746 I went with a Core 594 Hollow Body II! She is a beauty sounds amazing! Nice on the green! Mine is a charcoal burst. Not a 10 top because the backside has a grain flaw, but she is amazing looking anyhow!
@@michaelvarney. yeah mines a core as well. Plays like butter and is such a well built machine it’s incredible. I love my Les Paul’s and other guitars as well, but there’s no denying that PRS is supreme quality and professional level instruments.
Ramp Agent If you are going to use the English language to be unnecessarily rude in correcting someone who is providing free information to you, use spelling and grammar checking before doing so. Your point was correct, but your means of delivering it was not.
I own this. Great guitar but PRS customer service is awful. Mine has an issue that was caused at their factory and they want me to pay to have it fixed. That if they ever return a phone call. Awful company. Mr Smith should be ashamed
slanting your guitar on your hip like that isn't going to benefit your playing much. when you stand up with the guitar it's going to feel much different, just something to consider
I don't disagree... but I did apologize for that ahead of time... I just wanted to give people an authentic, right out of the box presentation without any production, amp tweaking, dude... i didn't even tune the thing!
I understand, but the thing is, we aren't getting an authentic out of the box experience...you maybe did, in the room, but with that reverb and the camera mic, what we got was a lot less than an out of the box experience. And for god's sake, tune the guitar when you pull it out of the box. Tune the guitar every time you pick it up.
Well that's true, but sometimes when you make these videos you just do it quick and dirty. BUT - the reason I didn't tune the guitar is because PRS is adamant that their stuff ships gig ready.. and I wanted to see. And I'll be damned if that thing wasn't ready to play right out of the box.
I got mine! Absolutely love it! I got an artist wood series.... korina body & neck... cocobolo fretboard... this freaking guitar has the best tone I've ever heard! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
MM HMMMMMM
Damn you have one of the coolest playing styles I've heard in a long time, love everything about this.
Thanks so much!!!
@@Guitargate my pleasure, keep it up :)
The tones are great(as is your playing). Your excitement about the guitar says it all really. That's the most important part.
Thanks Vaughn! Much appreciated.

I got one of these beasts in fire red , the neck pickup is awesome. I normally stay away from bigger necks but this thing plays like butter.
I agree!
I also got a fire red one, but with a rosewood neck. It‘s hard to put that guitar down.
That’s a beautiful PRS and great tones!
Sounds you could cover almost any genre with the 594. Sweet tones. I am considering getting a single cut model 594.
For sure. that's why it's so great. Have you played one?
No I haven't yet. I seriously want one!! I am sure I will be fine with the neck.
Sounds like you picked the perfect guitar for you. Best of luck!

FOR SURE BROTHER :)

That guitar literally gifted him a tune
So many lovely tones!!!
Thanks!
Guitargate just wondering, did you demo the Hendrix strat?
No I have not!

I remember watching this too. Nice to see you finally getting more subs.
Great playing. Subscribed. More 594 videos please.

Dardagan11 Tried this out in shop yesterday through a fender amp, trust me it does jazz, it has a super beefy but tight bass sound
I ordered one earlier today. Double-cut 10 top with hybrid hardware in charcoal burst. I can't wait! Hooray for finance plans.
I love mine through my Friedman Smallbox, it's my new favorite.
I bet you do!
Props on the playing.. skillful
I have a 2018 McCarty 594 single-cut in blood orange. Amazing sounding guitar. 🤙🏼
Love the recessed controls. My next one may need to be a PRS.
For sure
Hey man, you just can't get enough of it!
Damn dude you can play! Love your style.
Thank you!!!
Cheers to you and your new guitar bro!
Thanks!!
I liked the end... What she maybe wanted to say was: "Right, that's it, you had fun, lower the volume now..." :D
HA - Kinda :)
niceee! i live in baltimore tryin to get a job at prs,man what a dream job
Where in Baltimore?
Its actually Baltimore county just slight north east in Perry Hall, the factory is about and hour away on Kent Island
Awesome playing btw! I love Jim McCarty
I know! I live near towson!
Thanks!
I remember watching this yrs ago.
Why are all PRS necks so huge? From what I hear, that’s the consensus.
24.594 scale is a dream to play for average/smaller hands
SO MUCH STANK!!! This will be my next guitar! Great review and playing!
Thanks! Yeah man it's got a LOT of it :)
i really like your playin', the guitar really sings! I like the single coil sounds too :D

back off a little on that reverb! Otherwise, nice demo
I know - just having fun :)
12 minutes or so in... no verb, lots of tone.
Is this a 10 top or Artist package?
I love mine, though I do sometimes wish I had gone with the double cut.
Cristian Slater?
Really nice guitar! But holy crap that thing is $4000?!?! Dannnnng
Dude I know
Got the standard scale McCarty and it rocks man.
its worth the money
jake schleifer: apparently you haven't spent much time pricing Gibsons on the same level
Will it rock hard with high gain similar to a CU24 if needed?
Easily. The pickups are basically Gibson PAF’s.
Beautiful guitar! It it possible to get these with higher output pickups for harder rock? Or are you better off getting a custom 22 / 24?
You know, I'm not sure - but you can always swap out what you want.
Guitargate thanks and great playing!
Tom Angus great to know thanks!
Yea you can. Look up Brians guitars. Has some 594s with 59 09 humbuckers in the bridge position
Get the Mark Tremonti version for hard rock!
Great sounding guitar, but who decided on the pickup selector switch position, it really doesn,t suit the body shape at all...
You can tear is but, btw. Great video.
F*ing great video & playing! Compelling stuff dude.
Any proper mics laying about for the next video? ;)
Thanks dude! Next time I'll do a proper recording - I just wanted to do something quick and dirty as soon as I picked it up. A True first impression :)
Well I learned Iphone mics are pretty great.
Fuck bro....that's one sexy axe....sounds fantastic
Thank you sir! yeah man it's no joke.
How's it rate against your other guitars? I've got a 30th anniversary custom 24 and I'm itching for a 594

The neck is similar to a Les Paul neck, however, a bit asymmetrical, which adds comfort. These pickups can do anything, yes, they rock, don‘t worry.

First notes after tuning I suppose… 😉

For $1800 it sure beats the $3700 option. Just get American pick ups on it
You should get a better reverb, Strymon/MXR. even a TC HoF. That spring reverb you got sounds like my old crate amp
Dude - I agree actually - I'm using the Wampler Faux spring.... to be honest it wasn't cheap and I'm not too happy about it.
lol. the guitar looks awesome tho. I recently compared the 594 to the custom 22, and the 22 won for me. Getting my 22 in grey/black next week
Neck seems to be as wide as a Les Paul neck
It is. Baseball bat.
All of a sudden as he's showing us the guitar,it cracks in half in his hands."
So did it hold its color or did it fade?
How do you like the feel of the neck? Medium thick neck?
I love it. It's thick, but it's a perfect shape.
Play something in Drop D and C, please!!!!!
Ok Will DO!
The guitar is stunning, you have quite the chops.I am looking forward to the video. Thank you!!!
Thanks!
Reverb city! For demos better to have less effects. Nice playing thanks...and great top.
For sure! This was less a demo as it was s first playing impression. I didn't even tune it! Thanks man
