I kinda only now realized, Ross was really being very supportive of his wife here.
He actively wanted and tried to get her to go out and have friends, because he knew it will make her feel better.
It's pretty humble, because quite a few guys are very possessive of their wife and girlfriends, and don't like it when they go out with friends, let alone push them to it.

@@villanelle2.0 Ross wasn't always that bad. The writers made him pretty bad as the show progressed, in order to cause suspence(like when he cheated on Rachel).
But in reality, he would have been a rather great guy. There was nothing wrong with him.
As a character I hated Ross, but after this episode it changed my view of him. Carol really did affect him to the point where he believed Rachel was cheating with Mark. As well Sandy the babysitter with his character traits. But overall, it's pretty cool Ross being supportive before the divorce(1st).
Looking at how it paid off, Ross should have manned up a bit.
I hated how they made Ross out to be the bad guy in the whole Susan-Ross debacle. Ross was by far the one on the losing end, especially after having been so supportive.
Exactly. Susan discovering she was a lesbian doesn't change or excuse the fact that she cheated on Ross.

Because by essentially accusing people of shit they haven't done because someone else wronged you and holding them accountable for someone else's actions, you're being an abuser.
If you're not in a healthy place where you can trust people, don't start relationships with people you know you're never gonna trust.
He can afford therapy, he should've just gone to therapy.
This is why I personally hate break-up songs and other bullshit dealing with it, people will justify hurting others instead of just getting help.
This isn't cool or edgy, it's pathetic and childish.

@@Gingersnaps_the_pumpkin_kitty no doubt. And that was also Ross' learning experience on the show. His lack of trust in Rachel is what destroyed the relationship. This is how broken trust can end up for many people. They end up either learning from it or forever destroying themselves. I think Ross learnt, adapted and moved on. Him still having feelings for her and Rachel actively sabotaging his relationships is a whole other discussion.
@Ginger Snaps The Pumpkin Kitty Most people don't realize stuff like that. If they would, they would act a lot less on it. They're not like:"Because my ex destroyed my trust because she did this and that, I have trust issues and do this and that because of them. Which isn't healthy behavior."
We see why Ross acts like that. But it's easier to notice stuff like that as an outsider.
It's just like people don't notice they're annoying, dumb, arrogant, ignorant or narcissistic.
It's very rare that you meet a dumb person who says about themself that they're dumb.
You have to be aware of something before you can change it or even consider it as a problem.
That one introduction best explains their whole story arc😂
Sometimes I feel like Carol was actually bisexual. Cause her and Ross had a very long relationship and they did have chemistry. She just left him for someone else when their marriage started falling apart. Also, they did have sex before breaking up, hence Ben. So it's not like they didn't have a sexual relationship toward the end.
They were really hitting it off😂

The way the writers took it so lightly of Susan cheating on Ross was painful to watch but everyone overreacted for him doing anything at all wrt his wife n her gf. He was too nic to even attend the wedding after breaking his trust like that.
