Bro, this has been happening with my 2020- denali hd since right off the show room , i have been wondering if it was normal and whether i should nmake a warranty claim or t6ake it back to the dealership . at 10k miles put a 6.5" bds lift with 37 24x14 's and figuredf id be digging a bigger hole and just ride it out . thanks for the content and info . Keep it coming
Must them sema trucks are rush builds and not the most professional work out into them, been there 3 times and seen some hack rigs this rig looks nice though
The crush sleeve on the pinion gear probably got over torqued
Its deffently in the rear end ive fixed this probably all the time at the chevy dealership i worked at check the back lash on the ring gear it should be between .003 -.008 at most i adjusted them to .005 everytime then that problem will go away for a while but im sure your wheels and tires could make it happen again because of the rolling mass of them its alot to get moving.
That's so hot. You just made me horny talking about back lash for ring and pinion gears. Good boy 😘 I love mechanic talk. That's man talk
@@TheHEMI-420 dam I really need to learn how to be a mechanic 😩
Pull that rear diff cover and take a look.
From all my years of off-roading and having bad axles. It's a ring and pinion deal. But I'm no driveline expert
It’s definitely a rear axel issue
I had this happen in my gas truck and the rear axle was blown, when i let off the gas it sounded like a jake brake sorta, Dont waste time on transfer case or transmission i tried that and my problem was only solved after putting a good used axle in it and that was what it needed.
It might be the hubs on the wheels to engage to 4 wheel drive it sounds like metal rubbing, that’s the problem I had on my truck
i feel like owning SEMA trucks is awful but looking at them is nice.
I had a similar issue on my 2017, regeared to 4.56 front and back. Problem solved.
I was a service advisor and I did see several bad rear diffs, they definitely have problems.
Yea, check the diff…maybe when the rear end was put back together something was missed. Pinion bearing set, Axle bearings. Maybe back lash on ring and pinion??…Aloha🤙🏽
He might want to change his gearing considering how lifted his truck is if he has not done that already...
It's the rear end
Improper pinion bearing preload!
Scary!
I think it’s where the front and rear drive shafts come together, the angle is off. I had this happen on one of my trucks
Sounds like you got a shim bad in your rear end like one of your Sims are like one of your gears are Slappin when you let off under acceleration it’s fine when your letter sounds like one of your gears are Flapan and you were in like one of your pins are in incorrectly or one of your bolts are loose
As stupid as it sounds. Is the u joint the same on the pinion and output shaft and I’ve learned that the drive line angle should be within .5 of a degree
Typical GM product 🗑🤣
True mine was bad brand new at 2,000 miles 😂🤣😂🤣
What was the end result of the issue, am curious. Cause am having same issue with that sound when I put my 4 wheel drive in and if I listen carefully I think I can hear it in 2 wheel drive. I have a 2019 yukon denali 6.2L that I lift 8 inches in rear and 8.5 front.
Still figuring it out!
That is most certainly an axle noise.
Same issue on my 2020, what did you figure out?
Sounds like the bearings are toast
My vote is completely in the rear end. Something isnt seated 💯 on that release
I like your Tucker I want it😅
Wow took that name off lite brite dude
sounds like chevy problems
It's the pinion preload loosens up. Yheres a video on UA-cam search up "this is what happens when your pinion preload loosens up: rear end"
Pinion to driveshaft angle.. lower transmission crossmember.. get rid of the driveshaft spacer and have a real driveshaft made..
Grinding noise sounds like the chain in the transfer case is hitting the case. Is there oil in it
.
Been going back watching all of your older white lly duramax vids
I miss johns personality he was funny
How’s mark and his pulsar?
Update vid?
Do you hear that?
Hey JW what brand are your bars running from the front of your truck to the middle like a 4 link , are they available for a 1/2 ton Chevy TrailBoss
First to comment!!
Congratulations u won a cookie
Every one seems to say rear axle but it almost sounds like the transfer case
Do you think it could possibly be a wheel bearing ?
Pinion, driveshaft issue it seems to me. It’s a tough one..
No oil in your diff the piñon angle is definitely off
Get a longer shaft and double cardan joint
Driveshaft causing vibration?
Drop brackets on the derailer.
Something to do with the driveshaft
double cardan drive shaft
sounded louder in the rear end to me.
