Rosie Overcomer, Former Gloriavale Member: “They Tried to Run My Husband Over”
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 сер 2024
- Rosie Overcomer was born and raised in Gloriavale.
She left 11 years ago at the age of 26 with her husband Elijah and their 3 young children.
Since then, they have had three more children and life looks very different to how it did a decade ago- we talk about these adjustments to life outside. Including getting her first haircut, celebrating a birthday for the first time at 28, and the liberating moment she wore jeans for the first time.
I found Rosies story compelling, and I hope you guys do as well (quick apology for the sound issues towards the end- there were some tradies outside with a water blaster LOL).

I can genuinely say the podcast would not be where it is right now without Radix Nutrition. These guys reached out to me over 18 months ago to talk about podcast sponsorship at a time when podcast sponsorship was not yet a thing in NZ. And they have been on board ever since.
This sort of innovation they have with their marketing is the exact same innovation they apply to their products.
The team at Radix HQ in the Waikato do a phenomenal job and every team member, from the top down, want to make YOU healthier through nutrition.

Amazing courageous lady. It's people like her that deserve medals/titles, that make a huge difference. Our government has a duty to protect children. More needs to be done to help these children.
I don't think i've clicked on a video this quickly before. Yet another great episode @Dom. Usually i watch these on a screen to the side as i work, this one i was so engaged with i couldn't look away. A great guest, Rosie - you're amazing and every time i hear you doing an interview or discussing your story i can't help but tune in. Your strength, your honesty, and bravery in sharing your story is inspiring. Thank you for giving an insight into a world so far from what the average person experiences. We can only hope that in sharing what you have been through and exposing the reality of the situation that improvements are made for all those who remain within the community and that the atrocities committed do not go unpunished. Keep fighting the good fight.
how is this community allowed to treat people like this,so awful
Have you seen how the rest of the country treat each other? How soviet citizens were treated and turned on each other?
It's what happens every time the 'community good' is put above the individual. Then you don't matter and can be masked, fired, cancelled, etc for daring to speak up
@@user-yb9hi3us4p why would i give a fuck about soviet citizens
Wow! What an amazingly courageous woman! Inspiring, thank you for sharing 💕
Thank you for sharing Rosie, incredible story, your very brave! Dom I love the way you just keep the flow going, never any uncomfortable pauses - true measure of how great you are at what you do
There's moments we all have where we think "I was I'd said..." after a conversation. So, when Rosie asked the other wife, in that moment that she was trying to rid the photos of Rosie's husband: "Just answer this one question: Do you miss your husband?" - that was pure genius. What a great question at the perfect moment while under so much duress.
This was as wonderful as it was heartbreaking. Thank you Rosie for sharing your story, you are a remarkable human. You did a great job Dom at supporting this important story to be told.
What a good watch. Very insightful interview. I'm glad I watched it, I always like watching stuff like this. I've always been curious about places that are different.
What a great interview dom I've heard of gloriavale but never understood it or even really cared about what was going on there I'm sad confused and amazed at Rosie's story truly such a eye opener into these sorts of congregations all the best to Rosie her whanau and friends ❤

This place just needs to be closed. They have enough assets to be sold, so everyone can be relocated, scattered. This place is not humane period.
