Thanks for taking the time to make and share this video. I know it's a lot of work. Sorry if I missed it, but is there no PC based slicing software for this machine? It's all baked into the machine itself? It really seems half baked, with the slicer putting all of the prints dead center on the build plate and lacking any way to print more than one model at a time. The resin heater system is great and I'm looking forward to the day that all resin printers come with a heater by default.
The vat choice is very strange. I'm pretty sure the original Form SLA printers used a similar silicone separation layer. The inexpensive and midrange MSLA printers seem to have no issues with PFA release films. The choice they made seems ill advised. I couldn't tell in the video, but it looks like the $300 upgrade long life vat may use a standard PFA or FEP film. If so then their choice to use a transparent silicone lined glass vat as standard is ridiculous. I guess one upside is that the vat probably won't leak resin.
I see two or three standout features that would have me even consider this machine, but the downsides are just too much, especially when you factor in the price. I would love to see how prints from an Elegoo Mars 4 DLP printer compare to the ones this makes. I assume they use the same DLP light engine, which means that the Mars 4 DLP would definitely have the resolution disadvantage since it's got a substantially larger build area and thus the voxels will be larger. I just don't know that $9k is worth not having to dial in resin settings, especially when you're locked into only using PowerResin resins. Also, the touchscreen looked really laggy or unresponsive a few times in the video. Maybe a firmware update will help some of the issues this machine has.

Yes there is a PC based software however as an Apple based studio we didn't try it and it's extremely basic. You can use other slicers or use the onboard slicing software. As you mentioned the onboard slicing software can still use some updates.
The $300 long life vat is with FEP and silicone but we have not tested it.
      The DLP unit is different.
The touch screen is relatively fine although it could be better if slightly angled. Dan has really rough hands and occasionally has issues with touch screens.

No way, I strongly believe that's just film industry standard silicone glass, they make props for movies from it, can't tell it apart from glass at sight, extremely clear, and breaks exactly like that does haha xD

what kind of casting machine would u recommend? one of those super vacuum ones that use argon gas?

Depends on what metals you want to cast with and the detail of the pieces you want to create.
Steel for example needs gas shielding for peak performance. Filigree designs are best done with over pressure machines.
Some large bulky sculptures are fine being cast with gravity (so no machine at all).

Can i set custom exposure time?

The onboard system takes care of exposure times. You can't set a custom exposure.

I’m a jeweler that over the last 20 years have owned solidscape wax printer, DWS, envisiontec, even the original solus (backup printer but love the open source aspect). I’m surprised to see the level of detail in a sub 10k$ printer. I’m very turned off by the silicone vat tray. DWS has this tech and it’s super annoying how you only get so many prints before fogging degrades the details. What’s your daily driver printer being in the jewelry trade yourself?

Also, you need to reuplod, you're missing audio in like half of this video

Do you have a timestamp for the audio issue. I just looked through it quickly again and am not hearing any obvious dead zones.

@@ClearMindJewellery I think the problem must have been on my end, was inaudiable from about 12 mins to 17 mins, i tried play it back a few times and at the time was workign before/after that range, but I've played back now and it was okay. Could have been my headphones on too quiet maybe.
