    Haa! That was an absolute Blast to watch on the big TV!
    Next I wanna come down in August when it's 110 degrees, jump on the shovel and join the #cropfit program when you drain the fields!
    See ya then! Juan.

    I've watched Juan's Channel independently for quite a while now, but it wasn't until this video that I realized part of why I like him so much is that he reminds me a ton of Huell Howser. I grew up watching California Gold, and something about the timbre of his voice, his inflection, and the way he asks questions are very similar.

    Great video and enjoyed your guest. There used to be a third area of low flying Us Coast Guard. While stationed in Paducah KY I had to do an emergency flyover of a gasoline barge that was leaking .The 180x35x15 foot barge was 100 yards downstream of a high voltage line crossing. I told him there was 180 feet clearance under the lines but a bridge 1 mile upstream. In a Cessna 172 we flying 10 feet off the Upper Mississippi River at 125 MPH. We went under the wires and over the bridge twice.

    Thanks Matthew for the Sunday morning smiles. I did some rough numbers and you're getting about 60 seeds for every one you're planting. That's minimum because it assumes the rice grains going onto the field and coming off weigh the same, which isn't correct. I don't know how much weight the seeds gain when you soak them, but at 33% you'd be getting 80 for every one you plant. That's an impressive yield!

      Robert Reznik 802’s are used in ag too, not just firefighting. Where I live, there are at least a half dozen 802’s being used in ag. There are more ag aircraft being used in East Arkansas and western Mississippi than the rest of the USA combined. On any given day during the growing season if it’s good weather for flying, you can sit in one spot and look in any direction and see an ag plane flying.

    how come you dont put the Anhydrous ammonia in the irrigation water? They did this when i lived in Iowa, you would see farmers pulling Anhydrous ammonia tanks to the fields all the time. They put a hose from the tank in to the irrigation water ditch. Sometimes a farmer would go a little fast and flip the tank over!!! this created a huge hazardous material response.

    Not pertaining to this vid... but I'd love some input...
    What would be a rice to grow, in a small garden for family use, with only 2000 square feet available for the rice. Ps I live on an old rice plantation in lower Louisiana. This is a project garden that will either grow rice or edible bog plants. I'd really like rice to be in there somewhere. Thanks!!

    • @Ricefarmingtv
      @Ricefarmingtv  4 роки тому +1

      M Young, go for it! My biggest concern would be irrigation. Can you hold water pretty well on your soil? I see a lot of nurseries plant rice in those plastic pots and those sit in plastic trays that are full of water. Otherwise you would need to create a levee around your plot and hope the soil help water fairly well.

    Can you not just use granular ammonium sulfate instead? It’s commonplace to top dress rice with ammonium sulfate in the Mississippi delta.

    Why not have some source of Urea 45-0-0 then you could add this to your other dry blend.

      165 lbs per ac time 2.2 ac per hectare. = 363 lbs per ha. 363 lb/ha times .275 ha = 1 ac or 100 kg / ha

    With ag cats especially you Should really have that guy or the truck on the opposite side, or even have the pilot spin around before takeoff (my mentor seen it done successfully for 40 seasons plus another 8 under my belt) so he is not under the bucket, come mechanical failure or the more likely driver error working the valves on a long day and you will have a wrecked plane and a squished, flattened broken bloody mess of a wing hop but hey it would just be the difference of his life for no loss of time... Hurry up and wait right?
    Having the plane spin around or truck on the other side takes no extra time with a competent ground crew but keeps the ground guy safe, idk why its so hard for operators to understand that. Whenever I'm on an airport loading or otherwise that's how I make it go down, pilot don't like it? Get another driver, your load isn't worth a guys LIFE.. plain and simple

    Why don’t you make a video of real Ag aircraft instead of these outdated junk toy airplanes?
