It's pretty decent, but two issues I have with the design; the controls are facing away, so if it's on a board in particular, it's difficult to both access and read(I really hate this aspect,- and , if on a board, it obviously has to go on the top tier, which means the lower level can cause issues); and two, heel back is " off" , without any actual switch, so it can be unintentionally engaged. As you might suspect, the " spring " verb is forgettable, even full on, but still adds a little depth; you would likely want another reverb run after , though. Not sure how I would compare it, but I do think the Monument, or Source Audio( which requires their specific expression) have better sound quality, and broader features @ the same price point ; it is simple enough, and fun,- which was part of my reasoning,- but I doubt it will remain for long.
I agree 100% with your assessment. I have the EB Ambient Delay that has the same design shortcomings this one does. I tried to make this design layout work, even making visible labels, but it sits on my shelf. Also, I am not sure if this Trem pedal does it but the Ambient Delay pedal will accentuate any noise, hiss, whatever you have in your guitar to pedal to amp rig. ..Required a noise gate. I, too, had the same impression to go with Walrus Audio Monument with expression pedal instead after my experience with the EB design. It looks fun but in use its not practical.
I'm unclear: You have a RATE knob and a treadle. It seems like pressing on the treadle would increase the rate. So, that would mean 2 rate controls. How does the rate knob affext the speed of the trem if you are changing the speed (rate) of the trem with the foot pedal (treadle) movement?

DoodleOfMonk the foot control will take you from the minimum speed to wherever you have the rate knob set
