As long as you keep torturing Pat with Horror movies, keep'em coming 😈
He took this better than I thought he would...gotta say, kinda disappointed 😂
Why does everybody hate Pat?
Just asking 😅
@vootvoot9180 I don't hate him, and this comment was just having on his absolute cowardice. However, he does give some incredible boogity asś takes like being unable to empathise or certain social cues that people can easily hate on him on, especially early on.
Among the Normies, he's the most unique and provides some incredible insights on certain shows, especially when it comes to sports/competition.
@@sickleweed3270 11:15 That is not a man who took it well.
@@vicarsol9954 nah, sounds like a personal issue against him. From what I can say he would be the least normie member there. He's the least woke individual there, with Marketa being the other end of that spectrum.
Here how the Ju On curse work:
1- enter the house, you'll die, either instantly or slowly. If its the latter, you are being used by the curse to drag others into the curse.
2- Even if you don't enter the house, if you interact with ppl that has entered the house before, you die.
The original Ju on is used to portray the prevalent social issue in Japan during its debut, from domestic abuse of the original saeki family ( the grudge) that came from misunderstanding of dad thought kayako cheat on him. to bully among schoolmates.
The netflix Ju on the origin goes futher to even include rape based on real life case of Junko furuta ( do not search this name if you are faint heart).
The ghost that you see is not the dead people themselves but rather the grudges, the vengeful emotion manifested into ghost form. Its not Kayako or Toshio themselves. Its their rage.
Yep the "ghost" is called an Onryo and you are screwed if you are go to a place where it is or make contact with someone who is already cursed.
I know this is a bit late but I think people don't get this movie sometimes, especially westerners, because they have a certain concept of what supernatural beings base on their own lores. But Eastern supernatural beings are many and varied and not plain cut like what westerners are used to. It's more of the cultural differences itself that sometimes doesn't translate well like concepts of "grudges" and "curses" being very different.
@@noobofalltrades9766 their fault too at not learning other culture from those native pov, they rather imposed their values onto other culture, consciously or subconsciously.
A negative impact of westocentric worldview.
So it's like a cognitive being like from the Persona franchise?
@@petratyraanderson not the way I would describe it.
It's similar but different since you know, kayako and Toshio both dead already.
Bruh I love me some classic Japanese horror, they just know how to nail the feeling of being in a state of dread uncomfortable and grossed out, revolted even, soooooo good !!!!!
This is actually the third Ju-On movie! This first one is Ju-On: The Curse followed by Ju-On: The Curse 2. I was trying to figure out why I was remembering the movie so differently 😭
And there were 2 short films before that: "4444444444" and "Katasumi". Also, the American film "The Grudge" - directed by the same person who directed all 5 previous films - incorporates elements from "The Curse", and expands on elements from "The Grudge", making it a semi sequel, as well as a remake. 😛
@@Tubemansi don’t forget Takashi Shimizu also directed The Grudge 2 (2006) which was his last film in the Ju-On series
@@Tubemansi the american Grudge films are not connected to the original Ju-On continuity, neither are White Ghost and Black Ghost or the reboots
Ju-On: The Grudge (2002) isn’t my favourite entry in the series, Ju-On: The Grudge 2 (2003) is my favourite. Ju-On: The Curse (2000) also is one of my favs
@@MASAHIRO-X- "The Grudge" is spiritually connected to "Ju-On: The Grudge". That's why I called it a semi sequel. It doesn't directly follow the events of the Japanese film, but it retells those events, while also incorporating elements of "Ju On: The Curse", and then it further elaborates on story beats that were only touched on in "Ju On: The Grudge", in a manner that makes it very-much feel like a sequel.
There's no "lesson" in these type of horror movies. They simply mean to scare you. Its not a Disney movie with a happy ending lol
YES!! More horror movies with the Normies!! What a wonderful lunar new year gift!! ❤️
Also Micky is CRUEL. 🤣🤣🤣
The morale of the grudge is it never forgets, it never forgives when you see the trailer of the movie the english version or american version it says why it even goes after strangers or randoms
i dont get scared with western horror movies like i can even watch them alone in the woods midnight but japanese horror movies I only watch those with friends in broad daylight. The reason for that is that Japanese horror gives you that eerie feeling the don't rely on gore or jump scares. It's that slow creepy eerie crawling in the dark and up the wall type of shitty feeling LMAO
whats more, they happen in daylight, not night, which makes it feel more horrifying
I LOVE this movie. Basically the moment ANYONE goes in the house they are cursed and will eventually be taken/killed by the vengeful spirits of the house.
Ju-On is such a horror classic. I absolutely loved this movie as kid and was terrified by it 💙
This is what makes Japanese and Korean horrors so good. Evil is seen more as an unstoppable constant. There is no "defeating" it. The best you can do is either pass it to someone else or delay it. Can't beat it.
Or just asian horror movies in general
最近のハリウッド映画も日本映画も全然怖くない。なぜかというと、CGを多用するから。この映画のようにCGを一切使わずにタイミングと編集能力と俳優の演技のみで制作した映画が一番怖い。
Actually what makes Asian horror scary is that it often has no clear explanation, unlike most Hollywood horrors, there are reason behind the haunted scenarios.
I find it way scarier and sinister when you can't figured out why, the unsolved mysteries are what make the original more creepy than the remake, although the remake was a decent one.
"Everything else you can kill, that thing you can't kill."
Gotta agree with Pat on that one. The idea that its a curse and you're doomed the moment you step inside a house is wild, which is probably why I love this story.
To get the full experience, you have to watch this with headphones cuz that “death rattle” noise is directly in your ears and so close and loud
Honestly, you guys followed along WAY better than I did the first time I watched this. I think it really helps having multiple people watch with you. PLEASE HAVE THE SAME PEOPLE REACT TO THE AMERICAN FILM "THE GRUDGE", AS WELL! It's a remake, but also, a sort-of sequel, in that it expands upon story elements presented here, and gives additional context to certain things. It will be fun to see them have things revealed to them in that way! 👍🏼
Y’all should react to Don’t Breathe, The Collector and Lights Out 👀
Welcome to the wonderful world of Japanese horror
yeah this and the ring traumatized me as a kid, i would spend every night tucked tight under a blanket even if it was uncomfortably hot for years
Miguel A. Nunez Jr. is Juwanna Mann lol, he starred in the Return of the Living Dead movies.
i love the middle guys reaction hahaha
It's a bit exaggerated and doesn't come across as authentic.
I don't think it happens every time, but if the right conditions are met, the curse causes you to relive the original killing. That's what happened with the cops at the end and why they didn't just run out of the house. They were crawling away like Kayako was forced to by her husband. That's also what the putting your hands to your face thing was about.
There is a scary Japanese film I believe called Reincarnation. That is very scary I recommend!
hell yeah! always up for horror reactions lol this gonna be great
I deadass watched this and Ringu for the first time last week. Perfect timing
Edit: I'm here when y'all watch Hercules too
Hope they watch Ju-On: The Origins one day.
Guys, you should also see Shutter (2004). That shit traumatized me when I was a kid.
I love in this movie, even in bright room or daylight, we can still feel the terror
unlike horror movies where the house is always dark, as if the owner forget to pay their electric bill
Remember watching 21:20 when I was 12, that shit scared me for a long ass time
I definitely recommend reacting to “Upgrade” (2018) - such an awesome movie! You guys would love it!!!
i just love this movie..the jumpscares just keep coming lol
You have only touched the surface of Asian horror, the death rattle is so intense, and you have just begun a journey if you watch the really good ones.
Personally I find the original Ju-On funny due to the face painted "ghosts". I was much more terrified when I first experienced "The Grudge" due to the better effects when showing the ghosts. It's so much more mystical and scary because of that.
Yeah part of the thing with Ju-On is it is absolutely not fair. In fact as much as the story might be said to have a moral it is: bad things aren't fair.
I watched the american version of this as a kid and was never the same so unfortunately going to have to pass on this one! Hope ya'll enjoy it though! I've watched so many horror movies (my mom was always a huge horror movie fan and then my best friend and I would see any newly released horror movie in theaters back in high school) but I still 100% stand by the grudge being the absolute scariest movie I've ever seen.
XD
Hope y’all react to the sequels too 👀👀
LOL! Horror reactions are hilarious on this channel. Definitely do more. This was entertaining
Wasn't expecting this! One of my fav horror movies!
Wait why didn't I get notification for this ?? Any answer the Normies??
Great reaction! This is a new classic for good reason. I think Rana, Navi and Marketa would like Orphan, Orphan: First Kill, Freaky and M3GAN/Megan, these a nice balance of creepiness and humor. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil would be fun group watch because it's a full-on horror comedy. I have to also suggest Sick, it's written by Kevin Williamson, he wrote Scream, it came out last month and it's on Peacock. You're Next is pretty good too.
This movie left me with a fucking trauma when I was like 12 years old, at this day I haven't watched it again but I remember some scenes, now I didn't even watch my monitor, just hear the video and look at my phone😂
OMG my favorite people in one couch. I like everyone else too but these ones just have hilarious reactions.
Fun fact, there is a crossover movie called Sadako vs Kayako, which is basically the Ring vs the Grudge, its as awesomely campy and ridiculous as it sounds.
That ending was showing her as it because she dies the same way as the woman
Eastern horror movies are so simple but scary, Hereditary and Midsommar could never rival early 2000s Asian horror movie. You've heard of Thailand's The Shutter, Korea's The Wailing, Japan's Ringu and Ju-On, please check out Malaysian Jangan Pandang Belakang (2007) and Indonesian Satan's Slave!!
I was NOT expecting this reaction. I LOVE IT!
Where is Last of Us Episode 5?
I would love you to continue doing horror movies. I have noticed that if you want a wider audience appeal, you may want to do the Americanized versions (I like both and am happy for another of the original).
Considering horror movies, The Mist (2007) is a great choice. XD
Yes the curse spread beyond the house. All you need to do is to be touched by it.
Poor pat just keep squeezing the pillow and just soldier through
Where is the last of us reaction???
I watched it when I was like 8 or 9. Had nightmares for 2 weeks.
Other great japanese horror movies - Kairo and Cure by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Zero screamers. but great atmosphere.
I’d like to see your guys reaction to the 2004 American remake.
It’s a really admirable remake, it’s also directed by the same Japanese director of this one too. That’s probably why it’s pretty good.
The Grudge 3-American 3rd remake- tried to put the stop to it with the help of Kayako’s sister. But due to the curse, she eventually dies and becomes a new curse.
I watched this in theater, scariest movie experience.
They should watch the RING JP version !!!!
Ju-on is one of the few horror movies that STILL give me the creeps at 36 years old...buuuuuhhhh
The Grudge was the friends we made along the way...
I'll see myself out lol
some good horror movies i can recommend -
the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre
the original Blair Witch Project (1999)
The Ring - i've only seen the American version but there is the original Japanese (i think) version that I've heard is even better
The Others
Paranormal Activity 1-3 are actually decent scare movies. The rest are fun popcorn flicks if you aren't easily scared, I'm sure those who are easily scared will still find them scary.
Alien + Aliens are great sci-fi + scary films but after those it turns more action based
Don't Breathe is one of the best suspense movies I've seen
The Silence of the Lambs is mystery + suspense + horror
The Babadook relies less on jumpscares and more on just feeling unsettling
What type of drink are they drinking with the 1902 label?
Check out Sadako vs. Kayako, basically Ringu ghost vs. Juon ghost, awesome
1:33 Pat set that man up🤣Juwanna Man has zero Wayans bros. You're thinking about white chicks lol.
I did not see this coming 😱. Normies watching my favorite horror movie 🤩
I have so many good ones to recommend that are from eastern countries. A good majority do horror right and are very different from each other.
More horror! The Thing, Alien, Silence of the Lambs, The Hitcher, The Exorcist, and so many more!
This is such an insane coincidence, I literally watched this movie yesterday and today I'm watching the two that came before!
If you guys are planning on watching the whole franchise, I'm in! Love the reactions!
There is no horror movie you all would enjoy more than RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD from 1985. Truuust me, it was made for you guys.
There’s no “lesson” i see this movie as an exploration of tragedy and its impact on the interconnected community. There’s no winning, there’s only collective grief. The burden is everyone’s to bear. So best to avoid tragedy at the start.
19:00 did you say “this was in the original”? This is the original
Yo I swear the grudge japanese version scared me for weeks, I have to sleep with the light on man, this movie is scary, part 1 and 2
Hey folks, I know you might not read this. But can you watch Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam (2004) next? It's a Malaysian classic or Jangan Pandang Belakang (2007).
NOW I WANT TO SEE A REACTION TO THE NEXT ONES
South park season 26 reaction when?
Where îs the last of us???
If you want to scare someone do the death rattle where they cannot see you.
Omg this version is sooo better than the American version
more horror movie react. MOARRR
i say for scary movies watching in the dark at night with a night vision camera mode is the way to go
now they gotta watch all the sequels and the ring and its sequels then we can all see the reaction to ju-on vs the ring
The sequels, at least the american ones are not as good. The first Grudge American adaptation was good.
Funny thing about trying to burn down the house.....
When is the last of us reaction?
I also recommend "noroi"( the curse)..
Oh my....!! so you choose to tests your selves... 😀😀😀😀

If you do a poll for horror movies, please add THE DESCENT. Anybody agree?
Yeah, with Japanese horror and folklore yokai/oni it’s more like you can’t kill them, you just have to find out how to pass on the curse/possession to someone else
I love this. It's wild because I still can't get over the scary movie 3 version of the grudge. This movie is ALSO why I don't like closing my eyes in the shower 🥲
I know this is a creepy movie and everyone this and Ringu are the Japanese films that inspired a generation of Japanese inspired horror. But I honestly prefer the American version of this movie hahaha… I think it is just because I find the effect of the woman a lot scarier.
When are you guys gonna react to South Park Season 26?
22:38 the lesson is send Bob and vagene
You have to watch the original Japanese sequel of the grudge and all the other original Japanese sequels of the grudge and the original American 🇺🇸 version of the grudge and the original American 🇺🇸 version sequels and the remake American 🇺🇸 version 😱😭⏰🙏🏻👍🏻🤞🏻❤🐈⬛
are you wanna watch Ju-On: The Grudge Part II ???
Ah heck yeah 😎
Horror movies are good for reactions. You don’t really need commentary…just fear lol
shutter 2004 next pls
Autopsy movie do it
呪怨だ!
React to all the other movies to guys 🤪🤪😂😂
