I went an read up on Hashmal and its a straight up a nightmare for the current IBO timeline normal suits as of the anime, had it got a foot hold and started mass producing drones things would have gone bad for mars. Also I wonder would have a Barbatos pilot of the Calamity era done better, they would be used to MA battles and the suits. Another vote for the IBO prequal campaign.
Yeah there's potential for some insane, dark, end of civilisation apocalypse war, with weird mobile armours and 70 Gundam frames. I do wonder if Barbie's trained pilot with the original interface was faster? Or if Mika is a war God?
@@Missinformed375 no they actually found it in mars desert and the old man repaired it . I wonder what happened to make the original pilot to abandoned barbatos in the desert
The Mobile Armors almost feel like Gundam's equivalent of The Reapers from the Mass Effect franchise- nigh unstoppable killing machines, who will stop at nothing to kill humanity.
There’s the urdr hunt that is exploring that a little. There’s a cutscene featuring a fight from the Calamity war and there are characters who are archeologist exploring remnants of the mobile armors.
@FureyinHD honestly I'd rather an episodic series rather than one with a distinct linked story Following different pilots at different stages of the war in different parts of the galaxy we don't see in the post disaster timeline
Gundam IBO definitely feels like a proper 80s mecha anime with a fresh coat of 21st century paint, and it definitely shows in the ultra-violent combat nowhere outta place in M.D. Geist. In short, it's my favorite Gundam anime that ain't set in the Universal Century.
They all(everyone including that girl) can hear how Mikazuki talks with Barbatos rite? Like they get a taste of Mikazuki's mentality & how he functions during battle. Not an ounce of hesitation. Straight up Badass.
The fact that they uses the corpes of hashmal as a upgrade to barbatos, it can also symbolize as a war trophy. literally uses the tail and somewhat leg part of the hashmal to be use as the new arm unit to barbatos. pretty much symbolizing that barbatos is now the demon wolf in angels clothing
This fight alone convinced some fans IBO gundams have to beat Gundams from other timelines, specifically 00's Exia. Julietta's remark of having their movements cannot be seen is the same description of Trans-AM and Universal Century's V2 and Record Breaker's speed.
@@FureyinHD actually further credit to you, you cut it well cause the second half of the full song doesn’t suit but fuck me the first half does well done
Mikazuki is a bad muthafukker all the damage that lupus takes he feels it too and he still keeps fighting for his family. Even if they made a mistake he fought to correct it, what a boss. Side note tawias built Lupus and was able to keep up to mikazukis fighting motions so yeah high tech ms.
Its one of the reason i would love a few movies or a series about the clamity war just to more of the gritty combat from iron blooded orphans like sure that mobile armor is small fry compare to some that have destroyed or sealed away during the war
the gundam pilots from this show during the war must have been doing constant suicide mission against these MA/ this is my guess when i look at this fight and then think about how bad the war must have been
Barbatos should have also been equipped with Hasmal's beam eye, not just the tail. Would've made Barbatos even stronger. Just my $0.02. IBO should've also had Mika go around collecting parts from defeated mobile armors to equip Barbatos with. Let alone a S3, smdh.
Im here read the comments and think that barbatos is not the only one that can defeat M.A..as we can see in the game gundam marchosias do by one with multy-arm M.A too...its mean in the calamity war every gundam frame and its pilot that already in operation duty are have the capability to defeat each of them....of course there are some gundam frame that never have a chance to join the war and never have its own pilot..thats mean the M.A was vanished before 72 g-frame are complete.and war ends with only some of the g-frame
All Gundams in IBO were built to fight Mobile Armors. If you are in genocidal war against autonomous, self repairing war machines then things are way past "bad day " level.
it does, it can sacrifice the Plumas to repair itself through them. The issue is that the capabilities are limites by Ahab waves intrerrupting such systems. Its a rule made for the PD timeline, other tech like funnels also existed but Ahab interferance also made it useless. I recommend watching Gundam urdr hunt episode 7 and 8 from Traflagar Blogs. To see to what they resorted to once funnels became useless.
@@unbournx Yes but even more disruptive. IBOs tech essentially went full circle where certain things may seem way less tech developed but its due to the constraints making it that way. Look at it this way: GN particles have a lot of other ways to be used and are easier to control. Meanwhile Ahab particles cant do stuff like dematirialize itself for a moment, as far as we know, but its way more powerful in its raw output being a true endless and indestructible source of power which if directly linked to a weapon like Astaroths original blade or the Dainself, its unbelivably powerful. Just going back to episode 12 of S1 shows what the Gusion in a rough condition could do to asteroids. Edit: Both GN and Ahab particles encircle the Units and enhance them, the difference being that Ahab cant be seen even in its wave form, more akin to how real particles in our world are invisible to the naked eye.

one of the best fights in all of Gundam, tbh
the sheer brutality and carnage of it is just absolutely brilliant
I have watched many different Gundam franchises (Wing, G, Unicorn, OO etc) and this is my favorite fight scene of them all.
Mad House studios quality!
Marchosias: well... I gave it PTSD.
I wouldn't have expected Corrupted By Design to work as well as it did. Great work on the audio levels too.
One of the best gundam fights cuz they're not just shooting lasers at each other and they don't have OP weapons just pure skills
And to think that Tekkadan also takes some parts of the Mobile Armor to upgrade Barbatos even further... this fight is freakin' brutal!
There’s something special about Mika and Akihiro’s VA’s - they both convey so much through their delivery
Absolutely - 3:04 is a perfect example of this.
There’s no shortage of grit in them.

problem is the ridiculous strain put on pilots by the Arayashiki system. Basically you go all out and WIN, or die. No buts. No options.
