As someone who's been a cashier in canada, watching you do change makes me appreciate our currency having toonies and no pennies, so much easier.

That aside, even as a cashier I kinda preferred the idea of having the penny around. Sure they're annoying to pick up/carry around, but my head hurts trying to figure out whether it's cheaper to debit, or use cash for purchases due to penny rounding.

Watching people play this makes me reeaally want to play if only because I don't like how they shelve items and want to do it my way.
The universal panic when a customer hands you cash and you need to give change 😅
I find it cute that the developers think stores in the US keep the register stocked with 50 cent pieces. The extra cup is usually empty unless a customer gives you a coin that isn't a quarter, dime, nickel, or penny.

Just a little tip. When they pay with Card and it's a full amount like $4.00 you can just type $4 without the point zero zero.

You can set prices for 10-20 cents higher then market price (in the long run you will make more money)
Feel like that makes sense in short run, long run u would obviously make more if it sold for more, but maybe it's a game mechanic or something

being a cashier and the giving big bills like $100 or $50 for a $5 dollar purchase is really annoying. especially if they pull out all their cash and you see that they had smaller bills
It's a big red flag. Most of the time, it is fak3 bills
@@ArtDeGuerra well in Canada our money is plastic so idk if it’s harder to fake then American but most people who do that are old people
Something even more annoying but I know you probably have experienced is when you just change your cashier drawers so you have no tens 20s 50s any big bills and then somebody gives you a 50 or 100 and then either you have to tell them that you just cannot accept it and then they get really mad or give them a lot of fives.

Ah yes, the joys of everyone trying to pay with $100.
Also, you're trying to expand too fast. You need to build up profits on basics first so you can afford more than just more stock, since bills and equipment is a thing. Take into account all expenses, not just a couple things you want to buy right that minute.
just now watching this....what i would do is order stuff or even extra stuff have the store close while you put stuff up cx is what i use to do when i was working in retail or even smaller stores

I have set the cereal to $7 and it makes a good profit, Bread $5 and it makes a good profit. You will get some that will say it is to expensive but you will make loads of cash. :) OH and set your prices right away also you will lose money. Another tip, set you dollar/change amounts so you don't have to count pennies and dimes ;) works wonders in saving time

I enjoy your games specially house flippers, Idea for this game stocking shelves in morning then open so you don't have to run back and forth. I feel like this game will have some type of customers which mad you take to long.

Add fuel, propane, lottery, and non food items (like toiletries) and this is my job in a nutshell.
Gas station simulator would be a cool dlc, the dev already has the core gameplay done and this formula could work with pretty much any retail store

You really should do as much as you can before you open or after you "close". And hopefully you don't have to worry about your deliveries getting stolen since you have something against bringing everything in before restocking....

something that i see in real stores, the items that people are looking for, i would put those on higher shelves. that way, like the cheese, if there are like 2 left, they cant say they couldn't find it. does that make sense

I use to be a cashier at a grocery years back, i hated the whole process, I hated counting the till before i brought it, i hated scanning there items or typing the produce on the cash register, i suck at counting money and having anxiety on top of it made it worse and feeling scared my till would come up short which actually happens, or the people who come with a shitload of coins.
I had one traumatic incident where there was a load of customers and u was the only cashier opened, which caused my anxiety to get worse i remember two females was together and had two shopping carts so i asked them was them together but they cut me off in mid sentence and stared cursing me out accused me of saying there gay, i snapped i told them if yall be quiet and let me talk i wasn't accusing yall of being gay but yall must be bumping coochies guilty conscience huh! I got fired that day because my boss didn't find my rebuttal funny 🤣

I wish the game would continue running in the background while I am on youtube or searching the web. Its very annoying. That should have been one of the first things the developer did was that. Also the volume and more saves then just one save. I know this is still early access.
I just am tabbed on while it plays on a diff display, but the 1 monitor struggles are real.

Does counting change not count as math? 😅
