@@VTECAcademy I would think a K24A2 bottom end with the beefy RDX rods (if they fit), RSX-S oil pump, and K23 head would make a great OEM turbo K24 setup. Should make good power with good response and be very reliable as long as it's built right and tuned conservatively 😃
@@himynameiztony well I guess you could, I more went to say it’s a cheaper oem easier way to go turbo. I think you could get this head and turbo setup for less than a z3 motor but if you got it already then have at it
Thank you guys for keeping this engine combination going! Hopefully you can fab a 3.5" DP for your application to help the turbo. Stock WG spring is roughly 7lbs... you can use a TurboSmart IG75 WG with custom bracket (I make them) for more spring pressure. RDX guys use same side (driver side FMIC) but maybe you don't have the space on this chassis? The K24 manifold should suit the turbo RPM range good, I thought cutting the RDX Plentem and flipping it could also be done for bottom feed center mount and it will suit the turbo RPM perfectly. The K24z7 manifold would be the best OEM option for power in the turbos RPM range from my research for RDX chassis application, Most RDX FMIC guys go RBC when they are still stuck with a 7k redline because of the transmision. The RSP with your CNC plate would be amazing but they are impossible to get.

K24A'(2)s or hybrids need a lot of exhaust flow to make 200WHP+ NA. I had to weld in a 3 inch collector and custom build the header to break 200, You can try the PRC intake manifold it's usually good for about 15 up top but you will loose some down low unless you have a very good tuner that can dial in the VTC advance.
I Love that you’re back on this motor. This is what I truly want for my ED9 CRX. I’ve only found the K23 in automatic, does that matter when I have full engine, transmission, shift cables, wire harness from a 2008 manual Accord (A8) & 2005 ECU that I can pick apart to mate to it? And which mounts would I use if I were to use the A8 then eventually do K23, would they be the same mounts?
@VTEC Academy yeah you're right. Would it be a bad move to remove the a2 head for a z7 head? I'm trying to fit this in a crx while maintaining ac. I think the collector is easier for turbo, win for space and simplicity? Or is that head a total loss.
The k24v7 was not a great motor, it was the economy version of the ILX. The k27z7 on the other hand was the crv/si/ilx 6 speed motor. Great choice to build
@Samuel Wurgler My CRX weighs about 1200 lbs and is an 88 hf. I just figured the z7 head would allow for turbo because it has that collector style exhaust port taking less space. The A2 manifolds are a bit bulky. Thanks for the info. It was much appreciated.
Can I use a K20 type S block from the RSX, and use the 5AT from the TSX and then the K23 head? Or just use the TSX block and 5AT with the K23 head. This would fit in a Del Sol?
Could theoretically a similar Frankenstein be performed with say the J30AC heads and turbo on a J35Y6 for a turbo Ridgeline/Pilot/Passport? Honda Raptor anyone?
@@VTECAcademy ahh right ok. I see you talk about having the throttle body on the centre of the inlet manifold to help with pipe routing. I know it's not the same but my UK Honda Civic 2.2 iCTDi diesel has the turbo intercooler in front of the left hand wheel arch ducted from the front bumper. The turbo is mounted at the rear of the engine and the charge piping runs underneath the gearbox. The layout is as per K series with the inlet manifold at the front of the motor and the exhaust manifold to the rear.
I'm glad you guys decided on dropping this swap into the EG and I'm really looking forward to how it turns out.
It’s the next evolution in the Budget EG journey.
This is so good, that center feed adapter could also be good for RWD applications too.
I am happy to see this project swap is back on the channel! I almost thought this was forgotten haha
That center feed adapter looks amazing! Fantastic work

how about this head/turbo /intercooler swap onto the K24A8 in my Element?
It would bolt up, but you’d have to check the head clearance.
The turbo would likely interfere with steering rack. They already tested the rsx, which has the same steering rack location as the element.
Is there a hard date for wrapping this one up?
Did the centerfeed adapter ever make it to production? If not would it be possible to acquire the cad files or purchase the prototype pieces.
Not yet.
Ever thought of putting a r18 or k20c2 in to a eg/ek platform
Not once. They may be good as replacements but not for performance, especially for the cost.
Hype hype!!
It’s gonna be. (Hopefully)
Can a K24V7 be swapped as "normally" as a K24A2? Looks different but maybe you guys know.
No, it’s different with the direct injection. For that effort might as well go with a turbo engine instead and make better power.
