    My friend had a client with naturally pitch black hair. She told her it would take 2 to 3 sessions to go blonde and explained that her hair would look brassy after the 1st but they'd fix it on the 2nd. The girl panicked after the 1st session and went to another stylist to try and lighten it the next day. The stylist ruiner her hair smd my friend was pissed at her client, she didn't take her back.

    My sister is a stylist. My natural color is a strawberry brownish, with natural highlights. It's absolutely beautiful, just not on me. I decided to go platinum. It took us 3 sessions to lighten and tone me to where I wanted to be. After the first session, my hair was still brown. I utterly hated it. The second time took me to blonde, but I still wasn't the icy silver i wanted. We toned it again, and it came out beautifully. Trust your stylist and trust the process

My hair takes coloring very well." They didn't believe me, but I insisted they check. They did & yes, the highlights were platinum. They had to wash it out & I held a towel to my face while they finished the back.

My mum is a hairdresser and says new people always need a strand test and you never do more than one round of bleach or colour remover in a day and never trust anyone that tells you they can take your dark hair to platinum in one go. She's had to try and fix a lot of other peoples mistakes which in a couple of cases has included just cutting off the most damaged parts because they were too brittle to do anything else with. Oh she also says don't go swimming with freshly bleached hair. It will turn green from the chlorine.

After 10+ years of dark ruby red Féria box dye layered onto my naturally ash blonde mid back length hair, he was able to get me to a gorgeous level 8-9 mushroom blonde with only 10 vol. Madison Reed tends to be darker than other dyes in my experience. They label their level 6 browns as medium browns. Their color does lift evenly, though. I did some highlights over a level 5 color, and the results were nice. I think it is because they encourage you to use a gloss on the lengths instead of pulling permanent color through to your ends when you are doing root touchups. I am not a stylist, just a consumer.

I wanted it to come out yellow so i could coat it in green and get a brighter green color, but it came out WHITE BLONDE after only 30 minutes of processing with a shower cap on..... So i scrapped my green plans and went with blue again.

    • @angellittle1571
      @angellittle1571 Рік тому

      Growth (roots) always lifts better, so if your hair is under a few inches, it takes a looot less to do it. You can see in this video where there's the space between the scalp and where she lifted didn't have anything applied, and the same if you watch any other lifting videos. You always have to do the lengths first and then hit the growth, because otherwise you'll have a super uneven lift that was stronger for the growth than the length.
      But it does also depend on your hair texture, if it's virgin or has been colored with box dye or professionally dyed, how healthy it is. It's chemistry and art, so *everything* matters 😂

    I’m so tired I thought that meant dark hair can never go platinum. That filled me with an insane panic! It is weird because I’m not even considering going blonde let alone platinum blonde. 😅😅😅

    Don’t use olaplex so it can lift more. Also dark roots seem to lift to light blonde. I know they say roots lift quicker cuz of heat but it’s still possible for the rest of your hair. Most stylists either don’t know or are greedy

    I was able to go platinum in one day but I already had previous lightening. Balayage and highlights. Then I let my hair grow out for about 6 months and did my own retouch. It came out platinum and I just had to even out the ends. All in one session, but kinda not really. Blonde takes time and patience to get the right shade

    I know people have a dislike for brass hair…but I would lean into it. I think penny color is gorgeous. It can really warm neutral skin color too. I would ask for a way to make it shine like copper and totally ask to make my brows match more. I’ve even use different makeup and pastel it up and I’d use the crap out of burnt umber colors😂 I woulda said bring me to brassy town and I’d stay there for a while tbh until I’m done with brassy town and want to go lighter. I dunno, I think having different colors is fun no matter the color.

    I wanted a red ombre and so she bleached half my hair, my hair was DESTROYED after. I still go the ombre and it looked good, but my hair were actual hay.

    For very dark hair vergin hair supposed to be used 40volume or 12% in 40 to 45minutes and blower it while covering foil, and it depends what the light color what you apply next for about 30% to highlighter

    I would have done 1-1 ratio for the extra strength and used a different lightener like flash lift with bonder inside but thats just my opinion, also leave it for the maxiumum time like 40 minutes not 25

  • @SpectraStarShooter

    I lifted my hair to platinum in one ish setting, no damage, from a natural 2-3 to level 7-8, then to 9 with a toner. However I used a level 15 developer mixed with conditioner and let it sit for a few hours, instead of a high developer. I maintained that blonde for 2 years with minimal damage except my obsession with flat irons at max heat back in the day. It can be done, but we also did regular tests throughout the process to ensure my hair was holding up. It can be done, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re willing to do all the work.
