I agree to and have had the privilege of spending time with big lee he is a very educated and experience man that love the deer a True gentleman it’s scotlind we sowd be embracing deer and wildlife and embracing good Estate sporting estate people used to come for all over the world scotlind Sporting Estates The working man us the be able to book a deal with a local forest ranger all this is a massive knock-on affect you don’t even think about the people that used to clean holiday cottages that these people used to stay in the we people get forgotten about are losing out to

I am also very suspicious about why they (the SNP) want fish farming, hardly any jobs, but it gets rid of the people they don’t like by wrecking the fishing rivers. Also the fish farms have BIG money, if you know what I mean.

I’m new to watching field sport channels .yet within a very short time I’ve realised it’s swewed against the people who appear to know it best

This was obvious from the start, the SNP do not like the land owning Scott’s , they do not like the people who therefore work for the estates, and finally they don’t like people like me and my mates who live elsewhere in the U.K. and have been coming for years, in our case to fish but of course others come to shoot. It was all mapped out, if there is independence you can forget field sports in Scotland. And there will be a big division between rural and the urban SNP, the SNP are not the friends of rural Scotland.

Afraid change is coming and it'd be best to try to adapt and work around these changes. There isn't "no place" for the keepering industry even if focus moves away from driven grouse & high deer numbers. It'll just have to be different. Sitka spruce monocultures are one thing, but restoring natural habitats, by definition, is good for nature. Need to be wary of our waders, aye, but the near total lack of woodland in our uplands can't be denied by anyone. Healthier populations of a wider range of quarry that aren't kept at artificially high numbers (deer, grouse, pheasant) will enable a wider range of shooting interests to develop in Scotland.
As I said, change is coming & it appears to be inevitable. Refusing to adapt will be what sees rural workers putting their livlihoods at risk. We need more people in the countryside who are passionate & knowledgeable about it, not fewer, so I do hope the SGA & other shooting orgs might decide to adapt rather than throw their toys out the pram. That said, it's not easy to work with some of the single-minded pricks working in conservation who do more harm than good.
