You still get the stats from your max Archetypes right when you get them. Also it is better off to just hold on to your Stat increase items for the NG+ run since stats reset cause you are level one. I remember i missed a beetle in the demo so I started the retail game over and got to the end of the demo in like 2 hours cause I was skipping all scenes. Also I been hearing there is a food you make that gives you extra turns, so it seem if you make a shit load of them you just bombard the super boss so he never gets a turn.
I agree. I could accept having to unlock the base class through story and then getting access to all classes that come after, but even that sucks. Also, if they're going to reset levels, there should be an early game exp farming area that gets unlocked in new game +. I hear your stat boosts don't even carry over. So, any items you used and and baths you took don't count.
Bardon and Brigitta's rank 8 is locked until the last month of the game, if you want their elite Archetypes you have to wait so much and you can only use them for less than a month. I can understand this for a fresh playthrough because, well, they are really broken. BUT HOLY SHIT THE MERCHANT LINEAGE IS SO FUN JUST LET ME USE IT PLEASE
@@azza9423 I doubt they would do that, instead I can already see atlus creating dlc expansion for metaphor refantazio that continues off from the ending of the main story and essentially allows you to use your maxed out archetypes from new game plus in your new save for the dlc.
Another thing to point out on New Game+ Archetypes, is that if they are maxed out you will gain the bonus stats for them being maxed out after unlocking them again. So the more maxed out Archetypes you unlock, the more your stats will rise back up. Like if you maxed seeker and then unlocked it you will get the +20 hp back instantly, it just doesn’t tell you that for some reason.
Yes, just unlocked those classes. I don't have anyone able to learn them yet since I have had my characters learn a lot of the lower level classes. There is really not much time left to actually use them. I was planning on playing though a second time and trying all of the classes. I don't think I will even play new game plus now since that is the way it works.
NG+ only for one Boss that is so busted that u need to play nearly whole game again only for him.... maybe in few years i do that, now, i finish the game and try another game that came out.

@ it doesn’t exactly have much of a post game, I mean there is a short scene after you defeat the main boss where it shows you the fruits of your labor as king a year after Louis Met his demise so the game does infact show you what happens after you become king (that is assuming you got the real true ending) there is a boss that’s exclusively locked behind new game plus and it’s pretty difficult end game boss that requires you to make contact with a specific dangerous book in akedemia.
What they should’ve done is change the progression rewards on Followers in NG+ so that Adept and Elite archetypes unlock within the first three ranks. That would be a better compromise.
By far one of the worst NG+ Atlus ever Made. Locking all your Archetypes behind your Follower is so BS. That means you have to do an almost Entire 100% Run again just to get all the Stuff youve lost.

Of course if youre playing on Regicide you get less but that was already the case if you played on Hard in your First Run compared to Normal or Easy. But tbh the Exp is by war the least problem. Im playing NG+ on Regicide and so far ive killed every Boss first Turn without taking dmg and cause of that i got the big Exp Bonus. The whole early Game is just a cakewalk woth your weapons from first Run
The secret boss shouldn't have been locked behind ng+. I did EVERYTHING on my forst playthrough, the only thing a 2nd run lets me do is max out all archetypes on everyone
Acquiring 99 of each damaging item from shops makes the first part of the game so much easier on NG+ since you can't reach the equipment menu until Strohl and Grius are awakened. 200 damage items are pretty useful at that point. Also I don't think you mentioned that Grius's archetype ranks don't carry over. Not that it's a big loss.
this NG+ is a shame xD some of my fav RPG's are when you beat the game you can min/max your characters and go fight some super challenging bosses and get some really OP stuff.. but mostly they just look really cool xD.. this game essentially don't have that : /

The spot they chose to draw the line at in the sand feels a little arbitrary, but I promise you they didn't think 400+ power weapons would maintain any sense of difficulty for the vast majority of the game.
I'm 80+ hours on my first playthrough, just now getting to the last dungeon. Still haven't used some late-game archetypes epecially in the Mage tree. The most disappointing thing about this NG+ is that I probably won't get to properly utilize them unless I want to drive myself crazy running around the last dungeon to squeeze out whatever joy I can get before restarting...
Do you still have to spend the MAG to unlock the archetype in NG+? Or once you hit the required bond level it just automatically becomes available for free?
You could speed up the bonds by speeding up the dialogue and completely ignoring it, but that won’t help much because basilio is unlocked near the end game.

Nope. You get access to the inherited skills when you unlock the class. If you bought them in the original playthrough you don't have to re-buy them and you don't have to re-level the archetypes, but you can't set them until you unlock the class they're tied to.
I don't understand why they locked this boss behind NG+ It's typically the type of game where you should be able to do everything in one playthrough. I don't want to replay the whole game just to catch-up to the level I was in my first playthrough to beat a stupid boss I should have been able to fight in NG.

Once you unlocked them, they will be at the level you left them at in the previous playthrough. So, if your archetype is on rank Master, it'd retain that rank upon unlocking. However, you can only unlock these archetypes via completing followers bond which is deeply tied to story progression. Meaning, to get Berserker, you'll have to wait until near the end of the game when you acquired Basilio. Also, archetypes maxed out at rank 20. If you're talking about level, regardless of what level you and your party's at prior to the ending, you'll reset back to level 1 on NG+.

Not only are some Confidants only available on Specific Days and Daytimes, you also have to choose between Answers and if you wanna Min/max have a Persona of specific Affiliation in Your Team. And on Top Persona has way more Confidants in Total with a Higher Max Rank which makes Time Management way harder

When you get critted or weakness exploited, you receive 3x damage so it's very easy to die. On the other hand, you have your endgame gear and consumables so you can stomp bosses until late game. I pretty much 1-2 shotted earlier bosses. Also, you cannot reset battle if you aren't happy with an outcome, but this is more of an annoyance since most bosses are after a save point.
I've heard stat boosts don't carry over. What about the ones you get from mastering each archetype? Do those get added whenever you unlock the archetype or are those lost forever too?
Just finished the vid, and I'm at the final dungeon of the game (fighting the mid boss of that dungeon currently) and I think this New Game+ is great. When I got access to the Royal Archetypes, I started questioning why the Hell I would use anything else in the game (with the exception of Royal Masked Dancer which is just kinda ass tbh...), and was worried I'd never use the other archetypes again except for Hero Passives on my MC. Now, I can't wait to NG+ and I plan to switch up all the archetypes. Maybe I'll do mainly a Knight Strohl this playthrough, Warrior Hulkenburg and Mage MC. It does kinda suck for Gallica and Catherina tho since their higher tiered lineages can't open up until later, but eh. Not too bothered by it.
Honestly not a fan of this NG+. I focused on completion on my first run so all my archetypes are maxed out and I own all the high level weapons. There’s nothing for me to do besides get to the end as fast as possible so I’m equipped to fight the book of apocalypse. I don’t like that incense, bathing, and other stat points you earned don’t carry over. It doesn’t feel like I’m making any meaningful progress in NG+, just picking up the pieces after a reset
Yeah the worst new game plus, hopefully atlus takes this into consideration with whatever their next project will be. Hopefully it’s a sequel to metaphor refantazio or a completely brand new ambitious title with a better new game plus. Cus this one is just bad imo.
I don't believe so, however I just checked and on new game plus my character started with 144 HP & 75 MP. On the first playthrough, I started with 124 HP & 75 MP. I'm not sure where that additional 20 HP is coming from.
@Schrawgs it comes from Seeker Mastery, if i had to guess. Which means you would get the stat bonuses immediately after unlocking the archetypes, rather than needing to grind up.
unless you are playing at hard difficulty, the game is not that hard especially once you got your team set up how you think is the "perfect" play style for you and since unlike persona where you can't fail a bonding moment with your followers, you can just speed reading and there's a lot of other stuff/dialogue that you can just skip if you don't care about the world building, like the stories for the increasing imagination, the stories are nice for world building but it's not related to the main story so you can just skip
Normal difficulty takes me around 60-70 hours (doesn't include me loading up older saves because I completely missed the dragon trials when I'm at tyrant star, so it's probably around 80 hours), personally, this is the shortest atlus game i played in recent memories
But some archetypes are only accessible in the last act of the game, particularly the royals. Also, just because you kept the progression, your follower bonds are reset anyway, therefore there's a literal time gate before you even gain access to use them. Like Eupha and Bas, are late game companions, meaning to get their abilities you need to spent roughly 60 percent of the entire game just to get to Eupha and a bit more longer to get to Bas. That does not include the time it takes to redo their bonds again. Neuras' Dragoon literally only unlockable prior to the last dungeon of the entire the game.
Great video, but this is absolutely idiotic. I can’t believe Atlus thought this was a good idea. I liked the game but there’s no way I’m spending another 70 hours just to level enough for this boss. Unless they patch it, this one trophy will keep me from getting the platinum.
The game is fantastic. But NG+ isn't very enticing to me considering the stuff that doesn't carry over. If you haven't tried the demo I highly recommend it 😁
Man I was hoping to play a bit more with the endgame archetypes I only got to see for some months or didn't even get the chance to level at all with the highest difficulty so both would kinda offset and just have all the skills and builds but it sucks you have to wait as much each playthrough to unlock em. Definitely the worst part of the game which is funny cause by then you already finished it lol

Gallica is the biggest pain in the ass to level cause you don’t max her out till you reach your revelation so no dark mags no elemental mage

does the perm stat bonus items carry over? in that case, wouldnt it best to save them all for a new game+?
Baths and stat raising items get reset, so it's wasted if you plan on doing a ng+

Nope it just automatically becomes available again once you meet the requirement.

I usually never ng+ games but is there any point to redoing side quests I've completed in my previous run?
Really the only reason would be side quests related to follower rank since those all get reset. For example, all of the relic quests for Neuras

It is. Bonds rank up no matter what you say, so you don't need to figure out the optimal solution. You do get extra mag, but mag is easy to come by.

But some archetypes are only accessible in the last act of the game, particularly the royals. Also, just because you kept the progression, your follower bonds are reset anyway, therefore there's a literal time gate before you even gain access to use them. Like Eupha and Bas, are late game companions, meaning to get their abilities you need to spent roughly 60 percent of the entire game just to get to Eupha and a bit more longer to get to Bas. That does not include the time it takes to redo their bonds again. Neuras' Dragoon literally only unlockable prior to the last dungeon of the entire the game.
Great video, but this is absolutely idiotic. I can’t believe Atlus thought this was a good idea. I liked the game but there’s no way I’m spending another 70 hours just to level enough for this boss. Unless they patch it, this one trophy will keep me from getting the platinum.

The game is fantastic. But NG+ isn't very enticing to me considering the stuff that doesn't carry over. If you haven't tried the demo I highly recommend it 😁

Man I was hoping to play a bit more with the endgame archetypes I only got to see for some months or didn't even get the chance to level at all with the highest difficulty so both would kinda offset and just have all the skills and builds but it sucks you have to wait as much each playthrough to unlock em. Definitely the worst part of the game which is funny cause by then you already finished it lol
