Actually one person can be all those things, and the need to meet the person is nowadays not essential, you must be an asshole to destroy this man's message with all that bullshit negativity when you know perfectly well what he meant to say and did say it. If you actually look at the three definitions of the words you mentioned you see they are ALMOST interchangeable; so get off your god damn high horse and fuck off.

    This comment section is toxic.
Robert Greene is one of the most gifted writers in the field of human relationship and psychology, and his latest book changed the way I look at my life, people, and the world. It took him almost 6 years and a nearly fatal stroke to complete his new book, so it's safe to assume that he poured an immense amount of time and energy into writing the best possible book about human nature.

Just because it changed your life, doesn't make it or elevate him to the status you have. It doesn't make him an authority or
scientist......and he has discovered nothing new or original, in fact he's very confused but grateful to your contribution to
his well being.....so the question is.....are you now a captive audience, or has he inspired to explore other efforts?

I lost a lot of my Narcissism when my grandparents got old. I grew up with them after my mother passed when I was 4. I kind of manipulated people a lot and only looked to myself until I cared especially for my grandmother until today as she has dementia and Parkinson. My empathy grows everyday I see her suffering and I realise it‘s not all about me but about helping others as good as one can. This gives true joy and purpous

Robert Greene, besides being an idiot that found a way to take capitialize on the stupidity and ignorance of others (see: Kim Kardashian) by selling them common sense, his g.d. mouth is so full of saliva that it makes unnecessary and disgusting noises in the microphone when he speaks.

“We’ve been given dominion over all the earth, proven by the likes of us being highest on the food chain and the most intelligent creature alive: a supreme authority that only comes second to that of Mother Nature herself, yet we still succumb to our most basic instincts, allowing ourselves to be minimized by superficial ways, when our kind is the only kind that has the conscious ability to rise above its natural impulses”. -9 Principles of Triumph

    • @sundeepreddythirumuru5266
      @sundeepreddythirumuru5266 3 роки тому +4

Agree. One should always strive to rise above the failings of the subconscious behaviour. Yet sometimes, the undiagonised subconscious behavior shaped by evolution which might be right for some circumstances can be too strong even when it is wrong and overrides the conscious. I think the individual needs to cultivate the ability to control those overrides and the ones on the receiving end must not be bitter but take steps to control the damage and if possible help them to get a better balance.

As a psychology student (albeit not yet a graduate) I can already tell that much of Greene’s work comes from already existing theories/research, and not the other way around. (At least on this topic of human nature; I haven’t read his book on power but I understand that topic is more based on his observations and experiences.)
But that’s not a bad thing, in fact it’s the opposite - this subject being rooted in existing science and research adds credibility and authority to what he’s saying.

I’m the neglected child of a narcissist mother who neglected us like dogs dad left tied in the yard. I’m also the former PC police officer who realized I can’t keep telling everyone how to live because it’s the same narcissism that keeps my mom believing that she’s a great mom who taught her children to be independent with her neglect.

Dear Mr. Robert Green, you are an amazing human being! We are so lucking that you exist and share with us your passion for understanding the human being, dedicating your life on this complex subject, and sharing your findings with us. I am a Maria Montessori adept. Her writings allow me to understand a little better the human being and his tendencies and specially children. I consider you as the man who is continuing her work to understand who we are as human beings, ours behaviors. You are right childhood followed all of us for the rest of our life. However, when we are aware of it, we have the choice to let it affecting us or to reverse its effects on us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I have listened to the book a few times now via audible, it's truely brilliant- deeply insightful about different types of people that one is exposed to across life. Being aware of the narcissistic, ego maniac, ones attitude etc is critical for life success.
I particularly would recommend the chapter on attitude- attitude can be thought of as positive or negative, the more positive we are the more our appature is open allowing life and opportunity to come to us. A negative attitude is like a closed apparture where we close ourselves off and stay safe and have a fear based approach, and don't like to loose control...
This is one of many insights I gained from the book- a must read life changing.

Outstanding human being, author sharing a deep, meaningful and relevant conversation about US -- all of us -- to illuminate what's really going on with US. I am reminded of a quote by Sir Francis Bacon, "Some books are to be tasted, some chewed, others swallowed and digested." Robert Green's work is to be chewed, swallowed and digested. Love you man!

As a Biologist I wondered many years ago already about your bulging Neck Veins and your overwork...I am not surprised to hear about a stroke... there may be more to come. Time to slow down. Your centennial work may be completed...one of the very few modest Americans we all can love! I bought All your books from the beginning!

If you enjoy books by Authors like Robert Green . . . there’s no doubt that THE 9 PRINCIPLES OF TRIUMPH (mentioned and highly anticipated by THE NEW YORK TIMES) will grab your attention and hold it captive until the very end. It’s the self-improvement book of our generation and generations to come that expounds on knowledge, the programming process, creating a sense of urgency, self-belief, self-reliance, turning trash into treasure, mastery, health, and mortality-core principles that embodies why it takes to become master of self. It’s a book for those that desire self-actualization, clarity, answers and results. This message was selectively sent to you because you sincerely reflect a kindred spirit and the like-minded individual that would truly value and appreciate a book of this caliber. Read, share, and enjoy. The level of empowerment and enlightenment you’ve been seeking has, once again, made its way to YOU!
