- Hey everybody, it's Brock and we got a brand new episode of All About! We're doing a deep dive into choosing the right clean-up crew for your saltwater tank. Now what is a clean-up crew? This is a group of inverts like snails and crabs and even fish that you would add to your aquarium in order to naturally clean your tank and maintain the health of the aquarium by eating algae, leftover foods, detritus, pests you name it. They are essential for keeping the tank's ecosystem balanced and reducing the manual maintenance that you have to do throughout the month. We're going to split the video up into 3 sections; Algae Control, Waste Management, and Pest and Parasite Control. This will help you understand which invert or fish you need to tackle the specific problem in your tank. Thank you all for being here, let's dive in!

Been following your channel for two years as I got all the research and opinions on saltwater together, and thanks to you I now am elbow deep in a saltwater tank addiction thank you so much for all that you do
Hahahaha I love it!! Appreciate you always watching the videos. Reach out if you ever need help!
You should do an all about the blue jaw tilefish‼️ love the videos🔥
Bubble algae doesn’t actually spread if you pop the bubbles. That’s literally how the crabs eat it. They pop the bubble and eat the remaining tissue that makes up the rhizome, which is what releases spores and spreads.
Love it! Learn something new everyday. That was always the myth we talked about in the fish store 😂
Awesome video as always. Can’t wait till the next one. 💜
Woooo!!!
Wonderful Information to keep Your Tank Beautiful and Healthy!!😊
Thank you!!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vid as always 👍
Thanks Nick!
Thanks for the info bro. Love all your vids
Thanks big dawg!’
@BrockLeonard what is the deal with stomatella snails I heard they are probably the best because they eat all alge not just 1 or 2 kinds is that true?
These videos are super high quality! I really enjoy your work, thanks!!
Thanks big dawg!’
Copepods needs to be on top
Of that list.
THAT’S A GOOD ONE!!! One of the best hitchhikers to have.
Pitho crabs eat bubble algae too. But they can be hard to source seasonally.
Man I haven’t seen those in a long time! Thanks for sharing
Any ideas how to get rid of the long hair algae in my 75 gallon tank. My bristletooth tang is not doing anything about it. Its constantly picking at the rocks, but I'm not sure it's actually doing anything. I already have a few trochus and cerinth snails, but the hair algae problem is getting out of control. Should I get an urchin? Any other suggestions?
Have you watched the hair algae video I did? My tank was bad about it getting really long and I had to use the hose of my siphon to suck most of it out and then it seemed like my clean up crew wanted to eat it. Also over feeding gives them more nutrition to grow, so you could try feeding less while you’re trying to control the problem.
@BrockLeonard thank you. Will check out the video, and try these things 😁
It really upset me the crab didn’t pop the bubble 2:50
FOR REAL! Dude was giving it his all😂
I got my first tank not to long a go and i got a vermatid snail and a hair algae problem. It’s a 13 gallon tank in total with a turbo snail, some other slow snail, two hermit crabs, a fire shrimp and a really aggressive pompom crab. Should I add some more snails or something?
Bumblebee snails will take out the verms
Bumblebees would be all I would add.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Woooo!!!
Hi Broc i have a red knob sea star can i put any corals like frogspawn or
In most cases I would say now. I’ve always had a problem with them eating corals. I’ve heard some say they kept them well fed with shrimp but all it takes it one night for them to go look for a snack and your heads of frogspawn are gone.
My tuxedo urchin doesn't touch long hair algae, but she may just personally dislike it.
Clean up crews can be funny. They’ll love one algae and not touch the other.
