I bought it at a landscaping yard and they let me pay $30 for as much as I can take with me. I filled my truck up... I have more than this on my balcony.
How did you lay in those big granite rocks? Do they just sit on the substrate or on the glass? Seems like it would be a lot of weight on glass but it sure looks great!
hey man i like your videos on your african cichild i have a 75 gallon tank i am going to set it up but i need help on the rocks and where did you get them from or did you get them from the rirver can you please help me i need help for my setup thank you for your time and have a nice day.....
the cichlids r beautiful, but u have way too many in that tank. u also don't have enough rocks stacked and tunnels for them to hide/flee or breed in privacy. the ones that r long and who turn dark purple, will eventually dominate. only because they will be faster than the large purple one ruling now. i've had cichlids for 35 years. i like what u did with the tank, but the fish dont fit the set up. these r aggressive fish, and as they grow casualties will happen. hit me back if u need to chat. oh!!, hope ur doing alright, and gud to c u back. peace
He could have more fish in that tank, or even bigger fish, with cichlid's its about overstocking the fish to help with aggression. Also with rock work it can also depend on the nature and agression of the fish in the tank
josh anytime you have an over- crowded area with fish, people, or animals, there's going to be problems/casualties. thats just life/reality. if they were goldfish or guppies, he might b able to get away with it
Thank you but have to disagree.... Have you kept Mbnua classified Cichlids? They live in very dense groups in the wild and the will always be very aggressive its just how you manage it. I've been told my many tank experts to keep no less than 30 in a tank this big to keep the aggressive down. I am aiming for around 40 in total once this is done with. Also the tunnels statement is correct but I and other have found that you giving them too many tunnels and caves increases aggression due to given them something to fight over and they hide a lot more. So I'm going more with a mix between low setting rocks and a few caves.
How much did this Run you total?? Im looking to start this hobby with a 90 Gallon - 125Gallon tank.. just curious how much somthing like this would cost me total?? Brandon Thompson
This tank rivals any salwater aquarium out there. It is smart to do this cause it is cheaper to maintain than saltwater and the fish are hardier. You can introduce a lot of features present in the saltwater hobby to cichlids. African Cichlids love sand ( high PH) and intense lighting .
How much weight in rocks do you think you have in there man. I have a 125 gallon cichlid tank also. Just bought a bunch of granite rocks to replace the lava rock. I like the more natural cichlid habitat look. Anyway I got around 350 pounds of granite rocks and I'm just a little skeptical about putting it all in there.
Like the setup! Just started a 75 before Christmas after a 20 yr drought. Already planning my next setup wanting a 150 and some 40 gall breeders. Come check out my tank and let me know what you think.
And don't listen to people when the say that you don't have enough caves little do they know the more caves they more competition which leads to more aggression
Bro you have some tight work sir where did you find the rocks i love them. I'm new to the cichlid game and I subscribe to you sir so please check my videos out sir thank you
You talk too much and don't show the fish ... from that distance they look like guppies ... don't be silly and keep in mind that it's about showing the fish ... not listening to your narrative with a bottom aquarium !!

Awesome aquarium.
I really like the rock. How much was all that granite? What type of store did you get it at?
I bought it at a landscaping yard and they let me pay $30 for as much as I can take with me. I filled my truck up... I have more than this on my balcony.
Wow amazing
Awesome setup. BTW what's the tank size? Ft x Ft?
6ft long x 18.5 inches high and 16 inches deeps I believe.
Brandon, whats up with the fragrance reveiws??
Nice set up!
Do u leave your power heads run constantly and wow is that all algea growing on the granite or is that just part of the stone itself
How did you lay in those big granite rocks? Do they just sit on the substrate or on the glass? Seems like it would be a lot of weight on glass but it sure looks great!
some on glass and some above the substrate and some in the middle.
