STUCK IN QUICKSAND! DANGEROUS CAPBRETON INLET | BOAT ZONE
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Similar to the Haulover Inlet, the Passe du Boucarot in Capbreton, France, is famous for its heavy shore breaks and some extraordinary waves.
Off the coast of Capbreton is a deep and large canyon due to the movements of large tectonic plates between France and Spain. The sea floor rises quite fast towards the coast, which explains why the waves can be so traitorous at the inlet entrance. Given specific movements of the entering and retiring tides, along with strong currents due to the canyon, and accentuated by large surf coming to shore, the inlet can become quite risky.
The original access to the harbor was only developed in the 70s with the actual inlet built as we know it now.
Regarding the port of Capbreton, it is the only fishing port in the entire Landes department.
There are three types of fishing boats in that harbor: caseyeurs, fileteurs and chalutiers.
The "caseyeurs" are boats that live cages on the bottom of the ocean, like the lobstermen would do in Maine. The "fileteurs" let long fishing strings in the wake of the boat, such as casual fishermen would do. The "chalutiers" (fishing trawler) are much more destructive to the environment. Trawling is a method of fishing that involves actively dragging or pulling a trawl through the water behind one or more trawlers.

I live in the desert zone of Kyzylkum in Uzbekistan. Thank her outhor. For me these are great videos.
My pleasure
I know nothing of boats but this always looks so dangerous and no one with life vests. The boats look ready to sink any minute. The video best quality. Thank you
Thank you for such a high quality video, brilliant.
My pleasure
7:58 Now thats how you drive a boat...he speeds up to take the wave how he wants it...controlled and deliberate. GREAT CAPTAIN!!
Good action !!
Wow. Bad day. Poor jet ski 🤪
Hey, just like in the States - no PFDs on the kids!
What happened to the concept of wearing life jackets, especially on your little kids standing by the railing just waiting to fall in? These French sailor put the wahoos at overhaul to shame. These guys are good.
I also think that life jackets should be worn. Where I live, wearing them is mandatory for about 1/4 of our lakes and rivers.
Hopefully that captain was reported! Life jackets mandatory for 12 and under here in NC.
The most impressive boats are the only sail sailboats. I spotted two using no motor: 8:21 and 16:46. Absolute Chads
Life can be shaped in one's own existence by anyone the way they choose in right conditions
Life is shaped by all us and it doesn't have to be the right conditions. You are what you do. Do be do be do, as Frank would say.
3:38 No Lifejackets??? Are you kidding me??
Love sailboats
More coming
I dont think people understand how bad inlets can be. Why are hardly any of these people wearing lifejackets. I live close to Jupiter inlet and its amazing and scary to watch people who never owned a boat or just are weekend warriors come thru the inlet. Great footage
10:00 was just nuts! seaworthy is all i have to say
I don't know much about them, but sailboats are definitely some of the most seaworthy and safe boats, especially in really heavy seas. I think it may be due to the fact that they are bottom heavy, can be closed up tightly and have a large keel underneath. To be honest, I'd still be very nervous. Lol😳😁👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The state of seamanship seems a lot higher in Bayonne than in Haulover…?
These folks flex their skills, in haulover they flex their wallets
@@DaBrute 🤣😂‼️
When your boat is taking on more water than a bathtub can hold, IT'S TIME TO TURN AROUND!😳👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'd be seasick for sure 😂.
People without life Jackets on their children should go to Jail
Be careful and smart ask for help you shall receive the knowledge to get you on your way
People in Fance don't just send it. in Miami they send it at 60 mph.
That is where I fought the the first navy of America with the mermaides
Isn’t that a French port?
Yes
Most of these bilge pumps are working overtime
At the 3:00 mark to see that family with 2 young daughters, a dog and parents not wearing PFD's bothers me. Losing a loved one to the sea can happen in a moment's notice and it's not worth the risk. Trust me on this.
Quicksand??
Nightmares
Go walk on the beach they said, it’s beautiful, No thanks, St.Paul.Minnesota.
Looks like you really have to love boating to go in France. That water looks cold and dirty. You’re definitely not out there to enjoy the view
There is a sandbank just at the entrance of the harbour. This sand is what you see in the waves. That is also the reason why this place is treacherous to get in and out of.
These videos are taken from Alex, the guy who lives there. At least the effort is made to name the type of boat.
What part of the world is this no lifejackets on kids feet over the baw?
they do not love kids......no lifejackets....
Eternal life is every bit real
Some arseholes around, risking your children's lives in waters like that and no life jackets
I have seen life's I am dying dead come to life I was the first to bring back dead and to die
Family of 5 no life jackets......
