the thing it is might be too late for somebody to go somewhere especially if you are above 25. youth is over and you have become old. The most important part is to leave and have fun before 25 when you are still young
Been watching your vids for awhile now.👍 And I just wanted to get your take on the movie "the abyss" by james cameron (reacting/reviewing). Just to dissect the science from the film.🌊🐠🐟🦈🐡
Those earrings are way too pretty to be covered by your hair 😊 you ever been to Sweden? Also have you ever made any videos about deep deep sea animals? There's some weird stuff down there 😂
haha thanks! Those earrings were handmade by a friend of mine. I have been to Sweden, but just on holidays :) I have a lot of more science videos lined up and one is about deep sea creatures. But those types of videos have to wait until I have a bit more time on my hands
Hi ive currently gotten interested in learning marine biology and youtube some how recommended you out of no where.. So question is whats the cost between both country's.. Im subscribing maybe you made a vid on that already. Sorry so long😆
I also want to be a marine biologist, I'm scared because people keep telling me that is so difficult to find a company and that If I do find one they are not going to pay me much, I don't really care that much about the money and I think that this proffesion is gorgeous and very interesting. Can you please make a video explaining how to find a company? I really like your UA-cam videos please keep doing them❤️🐬🐙
Eu soube que Portugal pretende aumentar muito o território marítimo. Eu vejo no futuro muito mais mercado de trabalho pra você em Portugal, já que eles pretendem explorar os recursos submarinos e a preservação não pode ser negligenciada
i always wanted to get into marine biology and I got as far as my dive master, through PADI, i am also a huge fan of subnautica, hint two tanks are better than one, lol .
I already finished my Bachelor's degree in psychology but I'm interested in marine biology. Do you think I can get into marine biology with a Master's degree now?
Great video! Two questions: do you have to get a Masters catered to marine biology to BE a marine biologist? For example, I'm going to get my Masters in Environmental Science and Policy, with a possible concentration in Conservation Science. Could I still become a marine biologist? Also, where in the United States is the best place for marine ecology careers? I was thinking in Southern California, Hawaii, or possibly Florida. Thanks!
It really depends on the experience you have and what type of thesis you do. Environmental science seems very broad, so you can always specialise in marine sciences. But again it will depend on the type of working experience you are able to get. I'm not very aware of universities in the US. I know there are some good marine institutes in California and there is also one in Hawaii. Besides that I don't really know. I still hope this helped a bit. Good luck with your studies! =)
I'm so glad this channel is here. I'm only 14 but even since I was 6 I always loved marine life and still do now. I buy books about the ocean because I'm fascinated by how diverse marine life is. I have a ton of pet fish and a beach inspired bedroom. I do beach cleanups and run an ocean club at school. to summarise, I really love the ocean and want to be a marine biologist lol. I was just wondering though, I'm kind of not sure what kind of marine biologist I want to be yet, I keep going back and forth between whether I want to move to Norway when i'm older and work there or to work in France (England's marine life is kinda boring tbh). so yeah, i was just wondering where you work.
Hey, would you be able to inform me about the difference of studying Biology as an Undergrad and Marine biology as a Graduate student. Vs. Going straight into marine biology as an undergrad and going back as a grad student.
You attended the same university that I did in Denmark! That's so cool. How did you like Århus? When were you there? And most importantly, how often did you frequent Unibaren? ;)
Hi Maria 😁 I’m a high school senior who wants to become a marine biologist. For my senior year my school requires all students to do a “senior project” that is based on your career interest. I live nowhere close to the ocean and no aquariums are near me either. I have asked to do internships at research labs and out of state aquariums but they’ve all said no because of Covid-19 😔 I’m not really sure what to do now for my project. Could you give me any ideas?? Also, I love your channel 😊❤️
Cool content Maria! As you're doing a research about microorganisms in plastic debris for your PhD, i've seen you using bioinformatics in a video. I'm wondering, does computer programming skill take a big role on getting a professional marine biology career?
Hi! The need for bioinformatics really depends on the focus of your research. If you work on anything related to genetics, like in my case, you will probably need to learn at least some basic bioinformatics down the road. There are for sure fields in marine biology where bioinformatics is not required, however I would say that statistics and basic programming will always com in handy regardless of the specific field of research
@@Seamemaria ah.. I see. Alright Maria! Thanks for the answer. I'm still trying to figure out what's my focus for my final year in marine science. I wish you the best of luck for your PhD! :)))
Never would have guessed you're Portuguese, because you don't look Portuguese and don't sound Portuguese. Thought you were a native German or other Germanic language speaker.
Watch out for coronavirus, are there any sites where can I read your papers? Because I'm very interested in ichthyology, marine biology, herpetology, and vertebrate paleontology.
Heyyy I really want to become a marine biologist but I don't know ..I dont really have hope. CAN U PLS TELL ME WHAT DID U DO AFTER UR MASTERS DEGREE??????????!!!!PLS PLS PLS PLS...UR LETHALLY BEAUTUFUL .❤
Um hello, I would really apriciate it if you could reply to me. I wanna be a mariene biologist really badly. I'm taking marine biology classes in high school and I want to continue on to work at georgia aquariums. If it's ok can I ask you a few questions. What are some good collages to apply to for marine bio. How hard is it to achieve this. Can you specialise in certain fields of animals? For example I want to study dolphins. :) ilysm. And I hope you reply, tysm!
Hi! There really isn't a specific university better than the others. It has to do with your field of interest. I did a video on how to choose universities, you can check it out for more info on that if you are interested. You usually always end up specialising on a specific topic yes. It can be for sure something related to dolphin research. Dolphin research is a competitive field, so I would advise you to try and find some place where you can volunteer (don't pay for it though!). That is really the most important thing. Good luck!
I am postgraduate in Marine biology from India and my Masters thesis was on microplastics and I really wanna further my research on microplastic ...can u guide ppl like me for what should we do and where to apply for phds related to microplastics.
Hello Maria!I'm currently studying for a bachelor's in fisheries science.wanna go abroad for my masters degree.since i love to travel alot I wanna choose a career that will make me travel around the world.Would you please suggest me to which field should I choose? Love from Bangladesh❤️
That will probably depend on the structure of your course and what other things you learn. In my personal opinion it is better to first do some more general courses and then specialise further on. That way you will have more flexibility to eventually choose between different fields.
i think marine biology talks about the life of sea creatures while biotechnology is studying or using biological organisms to make a product like medicine :)

Hi. I am from india. I am 14 years old and you are my inspiration. Really, you are such good marine biologist.
Me too ❤
I KNEW IT! I RECOGNIZED THE ACCENT!
Just out of curiosity, what languages can you speak and is it important for a marine biologist to be able to speak other languages.
I don’t know if anyone’s ever commented this before but wow your eyes are so captivating! They’re the perfect shade for a marine biologist!
I know right. They are perfect
ugh you are so inspiringggggg ✨
I've just discovered your channel, and I'm glad you liked your time in Denmark!
It is quite nice here haha
AH! I new it!
eu sabia que eras portuguesa xD

How many years would it take someone to study marine bio ? Plz someone reply
to get a bachelor degree it would take 4 yrs while master's degree 2-3 yrs and phD/being professor it's 8 years i think? It's a long journey.
