1500 Miles To Day 1 At Hot Rod Power Tour - Extreme Heat Warning In Effect!

- Winnipeg to Kansas then Kansas to Tennessee. We flat towed this 1957 Chevy a LONG ways but we're finally here! As we kept closing in on the start of Hot Rod Power Tour the temperature kept picking up. Of course there is a heat wave the week of the tour!
Southern hospitality is a real thing! Everyone down here has been great! After a day to re-charge we met up with David Newbern and Mike Cotton then headed into our first day of the tour. It was a LONG, HOT day but we met so many great people it was all worth it.
If you've never been to Rod Rod Power Tour, pack your car and make it down next year!
We finish off the day with some late night, parking lot fixes. Hopefully we'll be ready for tomorrows drive.

Danny, as far as the heat goes... just remind yourself that in 5 months it will be minus 30, the snow banks will be four feet high and you will be freezing you nutz to the porch again... those thoughts always work for me haha
I would rather sweat my nuts off than freeze them off. But here in Wisconsin I get to do both...sometimes in the same week 😛
Peg, solid advice. Besides that, this un-greased comment stunned me.
@@pikehunter23750 you don't have to worry about grease on youtube
Some solid advice there!
Also remember in two months it will be way hotter and grosser inside my 55 Chevy
I'm glad you folks make it down, I hope you have a trip to remember. Remember, you're always welcome here. Don't hang out with Uncle Tony too long, he will try to put a slant six in your car, he is obsessed with the leaning tower of power.
Dan, It was great meeting you and Dannie in Nashville at the Super Speedway. You both were very nice and easy to talk to. Take care.
Man plans...57 Chevy Laughs.
Have fun on the tour! Thanks for helping stimulate the economy! 🇺🇸 🇨🇦
Pretty cool, or Hot , I should say !!!
Dan, you know you have made it in life when your girlfriend wears a shirt with you on it. You are seriously blessed.
Welcome to America hope you great trip
if you took 1-64 you was a about 10 miles from my house lol when you crossed that bridge on the mississippi you was about 55 miles from me lol
The greatest morale support a man could ever have, is a woman who keeps a great sense of humor and helps and supports you. What a team.
Hate I missed you in Nashville. I was the one wanting to buy your shortened C10 but couldn't cross border during COVID. Good luck on Power Tour.
Love the "Hot Rod Jesus" shirt...got one in blue... wear it all the time... Have Fun!!!
Welcome to Tennessee!! Where the devil says, damn it’s hot here! 😝
I saw your trunk bouncing open on portage.
Welcome to the USA 🇺🇸
Feel free to stay, we need more folks like you!
Good luck .
I don't know why they do these events when it's so hot. That part of the country is absolutely beautiful in the fall, awesome colors and cooler weather.
I couldn’t agree more! I can’t get this time of year off work but come Sept / October it’s wide open and much cooler.
well hello to usa. all the guys doing the power tour can come an help .Dani !! you still make the song on the road .👀👀🎱🎼✌👍😁😜😜⛽🚦👀👀
I saw that you guys got a shout out from Mopar Al/ Slaghammer. Have a safe trip and have fun.
Good to see you made it
On the heat, wait till you get to pensacola.
Be safe on your trip. Heat stroke will sneak up on you quick. Lots and lots of fluid
You talking to an eight year old? Lol
Glad to see you getting recognition at the Power Tour. Well deserved! I enjoy your videos.
Congrats on finally making it to Hot Rod power tour!!! Go DD speed shop
At 1:23; you remarked about the "cheap" fuel prices versus Canada, but we (in the U.S.) complain, not realizing that fuel prices in England and Europe are about $10.00 usd a gallon so it could be worse here or in Canada. ;-)
Have a fun time, keep hydrated.
I think it’s all relative. I have gas vehicles and it’s $4.99 everywhere here in Upstate NY and I have a Diesel and that is $5.99 - 6.49 a gallon. So relatively speaking: Gas is cheap!
Good time’s good time’s !!!!!
What an excellent adventure. Stay safe and get some chunks of plywood for your jack and jack stands. They really sink in that 140 F degree Asphalt.
I have cardboard boxes to use to assist sliding under the car--open the box and lie on it and you will slide under the car easier. Just a little trick to help you on your way. My ex-wives would HATE a trip like this, hence they are exes. Kudos to Dani for being cheery along the way.
Dani is awesome she is a good one that's for sure
Insane rain storms and brutal heat welcome to the states lol love you guys hope you are having a good time
Hi D & D folks, I live in the greater Kansas City area so welcome as you drove through the area. Have a fun time on the Power Tour and a safe trip back to your home. The car looks great. Back in the 60's I had a 57 Chevy tudor 210 and later a nice optioned 57 four door hardtop Belair.
Dan if you're in Illinois I'm waving I'm here in Flint Michigan. I'm waiting big-time hello
I’m a couple hours South of y’all heat index 105 f
Glad you all are in the states.
Yay, you made it! Amazing what 2 solid weeks prep work while holding down a full time job can accomplish. Enjoy your adventure , drive safe and there’s a nice filet mignon with your name on it waiting for you when you get home.
Proud Dad right there 🙂
You guys never quit, patience and determination, and just plain old just do it
A Ford pulling a Chevy! Peg would be so proud of you Dan!! LoL
Only thing that would make it better was if it was a old diesel engine that needed a can of Cosby sauce to start. mint
love the yellow 57 cool..i think the one in escape from megon county was a post car too..i love the part when the dude gets blown away lol
Glad you all made it. Guy was beginning to worry you ran out of time. You were the inspiration behind Slaghammer with your 4 dr to 2 dr chop shop videos. Hope you and Al get together!
It's not the heat it's the humidity! you can see it hanging in the air!
Keep up the great work! Good luck from NC...
Can't wait to see you and uncle Tony together. Great video. Cheers
"We need a hardtop"
You had one- you cut the roof off, remember? 😂
I grew up in Nashville 4 miles away from the speedway on South side of town hope you enjoyed your stay and the rest of the tour as well
I live about 45 miles from St.Louis its to hot for power cruise for me but I'm enjoying the all the you tuve videos of the tour
Glad you made it there with no problems. Have fun!!!
Oh Crap! You guys went right past my house in St Louis, and I didn’t know!! If I would have known I would have went on the side of the highway with a big welcome sign. It would be such a great day to meet you guys. I watched as you went over the Mississippi River…I’m addicted to watching you Dan (and Danni too) I get so much enjoyment watching the adventures of Dan. Good luck on the power tour. Enjoy your time here in the States…Seems like a “working” vacation for Dan. What else would I expect. Thank You for sharing your videos and giving all of us this great content.
Welcome to America! Those speedo adaptors usually leak on the inside where the gear seals. I am going to try to get a friend of mine in Atlanta come meet y'all.
You guys literally were in my neck of the woods when you crossed the Mighty Mississippi. Safe Travels, maybe stop by my shop on the way back through.
Glad to see yinz on the tour and getting the red carpet treatment.
We should catch you tomorrow. We left early today so we could hit the Barber museum.
Dang it! Dd SPEEDSHOP WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND I MISSED IT.
Welcome to the states🥳
Hoping you are having as much fun as it looks. Love the separation of today dan and future dan
I'll be out to see the cars on Wednesday in Hoover Alabama. Hope to say hello!
I'm so glad you guys got to hang with your heroes Uncle Tony and David Newburn because now you know what can be done with a successful channel and you will have new inspiration to become even more prominent on UA-cam.
Have fun be safe I enjoy your videos
Awww, Dani. If you think it’s hot in Tennessee, wait til you guys head south. You’ll get to experience “ air that you wear”. I think it’s hot rod’s cruel little joke to hold their event in the hottest part of the country at the hottest time of the year. We’ll be watching. Good luck guys.
Glad you made it to power Tour and a lot of your Southern friends may be able to see and enjoy your Meet and Greet with your United States Neighbors. Canada and the U,S. have always been the best of Neighbors, Stay healthy and Cool, Have a safe Tour.
Tried to get in to the track in Lebanon to see you guys.. Sadly, it was a mess and I didn't make it through the gates in time. Wish you all the best for your trip! Also, note about the "Good side" of Memphis.. there isn't one. 😉
I know that town (Lebanon)! Is Square Deal autobody still in business?
Are you speaking geographically? Because I have always found the food and music related side of Memphis to be mighty fine.
I rode my bicycle from Nashville to Jackson one summer, nothing like southern hot!
Enjoy, and stay safe down there!
Say high to Derek from VGG. I’ll see you next year.
I wonder what Dwight Yokum is doing today 🤷♂️
hope you two have a great time and get to see some great sights. Enjoy your time
Let the salt flow.
As I used to say to a friend of mine who migrated from The Great White North: Keep America beautiful--deport a Canadian! 😁 Glad you guys made it down and hope you have a blast!
you mean,import a canadian.right?
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 IF you knew my friend... 😆 The nice thing is I'm 1/4 Canadian!
Dan the floor pan man looks like fun I love your trailer park air conditioning with the fan lol

Good video. Looking forward to the next one.
Lots of Chevys most of them TRI fives auto auction rebuilds is there too
Dan and Danni! Love that you hung out with Uncle Tony. Wonder if you will run into Derek and family of ViceGrip Garage? my 2 personal favorite hotrodder Ytoob channels.
Awesome, when you crossed from Missouri into Illinois you were less than an hour from my house!!
Living vicariously through DD’s speed shop…. One day I will make it to power tour but, until then, this is the next best thing. Enjoy staff members!
Been looking forward to your trip. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Trucker Bob you have big heart helping out with these guys
Your skills come in very handy on the road. Thank you for sharing Dan
It was great to see you guys recognized by Flying Sparks and Vice Grip Garage and others. It is a special community
BEAUTIFUL. Have fun you two!!! Watch that car. People are creeps!!!!! I'd sleep in it. Make sure you're cooling system good or it becomes a cooking system😜💚🤸
Can't wait to see you and Uncle Tony hanging out together.
Was looking at the weather down there, holy shit. I'm guessing AC is now high on the priority list lol.
Great reference for the Mississippi River , read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn books . Mark Twain was a river boat pilot , how he got his pen name , it is a river measurement because on that river you had to know where the sand bars were or run your boat aground !
Dani, you don't ever, ever want to come to southern AZ. We have REAL HEAT HERE!! Whew... love you two
Very cool trip. I can see this on the bucket list. I'll be following you guys along. Be safe and enjoy.
It's on my bucket list I have a old 66 gmc truck that I'm restoring I think it would be awesome to drive it across the country and do power tour then drive it all the way back out west to get home
Glad ya made it ! have a fun and safe trip
You're not alone on that heat deal Ms Dani, I could handle it better when I was younger but geez, now I'm an old man, I can't stay out in that stuff very long, well it's the humidity more than the heat, and besides I just had a heart attack back in March and had another stent put in but just having the heart problems the humidity makes it a lot tougher on me. Anyhow, so glad to see y'all making it down from Canada and going on the power tour! And there's a excessive heat warning out on the mid section of the states, or heartland actually.
Ah, the life of a hot rodder. If everything went smooth, there would not be some great stories to tell in the future!
Im loving this power tour series. You make me feel like im there! I love that yellow Nomad...soccer mom car...and we all love the occasional soccer mom!
That bridge was cape girardeau. I own some land in illinois over by cairo wich im sure yall drove through
I’m glad to see you both having a blast. Please drink lots of fluids is best advice I can give you it does get hot down in these parts. Thanks for sharing ✌️😎👋
When you came across the bridge into to Illinois you were just a 100 miles away from my house hi from Danny J
Fluids like Labatt or Molson!
Beat of luck and I hope you get to enjoy the day, all the best for the rest of the tour,
Dan, it was great to meet you and Dani yesterday. I hope the south treats you well. You guys keep up the good work. Oh and thanks for the rad shirt. I will wear it with pride.

What a blast. Keep the vids coming!
Dang it! Another Butcher job??? I swear I never touched it!
Dan you got the A ticket ride. Driving your hot rod and spinning wrenches in a motel parking lot. Hot rod life. You and Danni stay safe and enjoy the cruise.
