How to fish a new river system

In this video I attempt to target bream on the Hawkesbury river. I did my research before heading out and found myself a few spots that are likely to hold Bream. I explain some methods on how to go about locating some new spots to fish.

What steps do you take when fishing unfamiliar grounds?

Fish smaller search baits to cover ground, try and eyeball anything on the bank that might give you a clue as to what's going on in the water.
