@@itsazombiethingsgaming1107 Oddly, it wasn't really the 30th anniversary of Magic till 2023. Not sure why they put that $1000 thing out for the 29th anniversary.
2 Force of wills, 2 vampiric tutors, urzas, a bunch of checklands, sneak attack, the other tutors, a ton of staple commons and uncommon (terror, elves, goblins, counterspells)....and all in retro frame and shooting star foiling
I'm super excited to open these boxes. I got one of each box. I haven't played magic in over 12 years. I'm excited to teach my son to play and opening with him.
Hey Rudy, Fun Fact! The guy who drew Krosan Restorer, Clyde Caldwell, is the artist behind many classic TSR book cover arts, such as Dragonlance books! Really cool dude.
Hi Rudy 🎉! This box opening made visiting the toys r us store in Palma de Mallorca 😅. Iam just here for vacation - my home town is Würzburg, Germany. First vacation after 3years of no holidays at all 😮 Now I got the Timmy FOMO of mothers - that I will miss something special if I don’t go to the store and try out flippn the cards to the local game store here at Palma ❤😂🎉 Stay the course Sir 😊
between your pulls and Joeys at badboys, these prices are gonna dip so fast. Its awesome that it seems that a lot of great cards get regularly pulled though.
I can't stand watching bad boy gaming channel anymore. He used to be fun and comical, but now I just get annoyed at his personality. He seems like the type of person who would cuss out a kid at Walmart cause he hordes all the cubes and buys them all out every week. F anyone else who wants to buy stuff. He gets under my skin as you can tell.
@@nerdwasteland2931 he has gotten a bit obnoxious. Ive only been watching him for about 6 months. His change probably already occurred before that. I will say Im "putting up with it" to just see the packs he cracks.
Since selling my collection a couple years ago ... this is the first magic product that I can say I would buy. Nicely done on this one WOTC. I've moved on, but this set looks like a blast to open.
Is this a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone is saying stocks are at a discount and all, but just how long will It take for us to recover, obviously there are strategies to maneuver in this present market but these strategies doesn't come common to the average folk, or am I better off putting my money elsewhere?
@peter kagwi The uncertainties accompanying this present market is more reasons I have my daily investment decisions guided by a portfolio-coach seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Netted over $1.5m in return on investment, since using a coach for about 2years.
Finally a box opening, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Rudy showing us his taco in a long talk video.. But openings makes Rudy's channel feel complete. This is how I started watching Rudy, with openings 😎
Dude out of all the openings, this is by far the best I've seen so far. Minus Yawgmoth, this patron got all the good hits man! Rudy gonna be in shock when these boxes don't measure up to these 2.
Love how the retro frame foils have non foil artwork. MTG north opened a modern frame and a retro foil of the same card. The modern art is full foil. The retro is only the exterior
This could be the best set I have been apart of since getting into Magic 4 years ago. Sooooo much history and cool variants. This should be every Masters set
Interesting this Birds of Pardaise with this artwork and this frame was first introduced in a superdrop in honour of Mark Pool. Does it confirm that even cards from Secret Lairs can be reprinted with same treatement/ artwork ?
You are correct about the wotc to not reprint secret lair arts. However, the art on Birds of. is from the earliest set, alpha. The Mark Poole secret lair had some reprints and some unique arts (For example they are not supposed to reprint the unique balance from this SL, but hiwling mine and birs were not unique).
A product I enjoy and look forward to watching videos of openings on finally great product wizards knew that had to pull one out on the first product after disaster 30!
Cash value be damned. The tabletop value in this is crazy!! Affordable access to Tutors, Force of Will, Urzas, AND a foil reprint of my favourite Douglas Schuler Plains (tree with lightning)?!? When Wizards gets it right, by the Gods do they get it right.
The quality is very good mostly due to printing came from japan.. And no it will not collapse the prices of the tutor.. maybe slight initial but it will bounce back again.. If you take a look closely there are also crap pulls per pack either a mythic staple or bust.. or tutor or bust on rare slot in terms value..
True and also, do not forget the price tag, here in canada it is 420$+tx, +/- 500$ for only 12 packs it can slightly lower the single price, but not that much (Cost per cards is still relatively high).
Wow...... you got some great pulls. The cards look fantastic! If the expensive mythics and rares are that easy to get, the card prices will drop. Thanks for the video Rudy.
and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I like rudys openings the best. Not giving a damn about the big prices of the cards, just enjoying the product and living the nostalgia of nostalgic inspired sets. Other openers just look at the card, see the price and put it aside... Rudy just is happy to see an eye and I am too! also: spiritmonger on uncommon... back in the apocalypse days that card was one of the strongest and most sought after rare as it was powercreep incarnate then. God I miss those times that made me a Green/Black only player
This is definitely well into the era of the player. A ton of insanely good power level cards as well as their many special treatments are at incredible prices. I feel bad for some stores though - I have people i consider friends working at some. The ones who list a price say shortly after release then it doesn't update often. Man...revisit singles from 2018 to 2021. I feel just bad sometimes. Saw an old listing for lotus cobra foil showcase at $19. Tcg now has it $2.95. Noble hiarch ultimate master box topper was listed at $98...tcg now has it at $30. If I were a store I'd want to sell all my singles asap if I want to see any sort of return in the next 2 years. Yeah they're low now but getting $13 for a single might be better now before it gets a precon reprint or set reprint and becomes a $3.50 card. They're all getting hit...looks like in 2 months these tutors will have incredibly great access. An example how in hindsight getting money for vampiric tutors asap is good because I doubt it's going down.
NGL Rudy I haven't bought MTG products in a long while, (and how they are treating D&D is making me consider moving a different game) but some of the cards you opened hit me in the feels and its like I WANT THAT!
Keep them sealed. You can buy the singles in a month or two for cheap cheap while everyone else opens the boxes and tries to prove lower than the previous person when they are trying to sell off the cards they don't need.
Just imagine how excited the community would have been if this was released as the magic 30 product. This might hit the value in the short run but long term this value will sky rocket after a couple years without reprints.
2 decades ago (I'm old as hell) I thought birds would be a prime fixer for a long time but didn't anticipate them reprinting it 100x, making lands just better. I hoarded like 8 of them. They were pricey at $10 each. Adjusted for inflation that's.... more but not significant.
Rudy is back and the very first pack he opens he is more excited over the retro wild growth than the 45€ alternative art Urza. Never change.
Well when you have millions, 45$ is toilet paper to him lol
I personally hate the full art Urza, I think it looks fugly
@@Jakep54903shit is hideous
Maybe cuz its ugly
to be fair, a foil wild growth was worth more than an urza before this set haha
This is what Magic 30th should have looked like. The nostalgia was oozing in this video.
100% agreed. If this came out at Magic 30th this would have been 1000% the reverse of Magic 30th
@@itsazombiethingsgaming1107 Oddly, it wasn't really the 30th anniversary of Magic till 2023. Not sure why they put that $1000 thing out for the 29th anniversary.
Basically the 2 collectors boxes I would have wanted card for card. What an incredible opening.

Rudy pumping and dumping
Thought I was the only one getting a bunch of lego videos lately
This is serious
This is a box opening.
Ngl, I'm impressed by the retro frame foiling. They're getting closer to how the real ones look. You blew right past the lightning Plains lol
I'm super excited to open these boxes. I got one of each box. I haven't played magic in over 12 years. I'm excited to teach my son to play and opening with him.
One of the box openings of all time.
One of the box openings I’ve ever seen
Two even
It sure was
I said to myself as well.
It was definitely in the time.
Love how he puts Spiritmonger into the rare pile because it used to be rare.
All these downshifting to common cards will impact pauper, bigly.
This honestly feels more like a celebration of 30 years of magic compared to the pile of shit that was Magic 30
You take that back!
Hard agree lol

I just got into magic a few years ago, but this is the coolest set I've seen. I love this and I've only been around for ultra modern stuff.

f*cking spambot!
Rudy was excited like little Anakin on EP1 saying - "Now this is Pod Racing!"... lol
The piles and stacks are all over the place, but the pulls are looking good 😎
Really does feel like a follow up to the better masters sets.
The old blue swirling borders were the best
Two boxes, two force of will's, two Urzas, six tutors, and a huge number of pulls. Crazy.
Cool! Reminds me of 90s baseball cards where every single one is unique and flashy! This is NOT going to fail!
The foils are for sure different. I could tell instantly from the first retro foil.
The foiling for old frames has gotten so much better

Those retro foil lands are amazing
Wow an actual opening? 🎉🎉
The first box was a powerhouse of value with all those tutors alone.
Amazon is hiding 1000 pallets of this product as we speak.
That John Avon´s mountain is the most beautiful of all mountains, and its foil!!! Nice!!!

This was insane. The first one is not the norm but it was crazy to watch.
Feels like other than the rare/mythic slot there are so many cards that will never be used by anyone, ever. Thanks for sharing Rudy!
There are plenty of playables in the common and uncommon slots
I hope that is sarcasm.
Go draft this badboy, it's all about the commons/uncommons man. You will form some wonderful memories with those cards.
Bad Boy Gaming, Joel Moss, pulled like 13 Force of Will cards from a collector case. Like a dozen or two dozen tutors as well. Singles going to zero.
Anyone buying the chase on release deserves to get burned. Tutors will be less than $10 in a month.
@@Barrager69 I sure hope so lol, then I'll load up
RIP the top left mythic pile, forgot about almost immediately
