Started book one and it’s epic! My local Amazon had books 3,4 on kindle for $5 so I bought them! But I am happy to pay full kindle price for the entire set!!

The fact that the Baen hardcover of Disquiet matches as best as it possibly could, despite the unavoidable size difference, was already pretty cool. But I have definitely got to get myself a DAW hardcover version that matches exactly! This is great news tbh. Only downside is some folk who want a perfectly matching set may have to fork out money twice for Disquiet gods, but them's the breaks.
Christopher channeling his inner Hadrian with the announcement of us having to wait for what comes next had me asking myself "Must everything you say sound like a Eudoran Melodrama?" Thanks for the great news Christopher!

Around the end of last year I read all of your Sun Eater novels in about the space of a month or two, and didn’t read much else until Disquiet Gods released. I hadn’t been so obsessed with a series since I first read The Stormlight Archives. Thank you for writing such an amazing story dude!

It's almost as if something is pulling from all of the books that Christopher could have written, and all of the publishers that ever could have taken up the books and putting them here, it this timeline, to see the series finished.

It’s not great news to me. Feels scummy. DAW could have taken care of you the first time if they really wanted to. They were too busy putting all their eggs in the Dune basket again.

I didn't sell anything. They bought the rights from Baen. It's more analogous to a trade in baseball or football than anything. It was Baen's decision, and the deal was good for all involved.

I just wish we could get the US edition hardcovers over here in Europe cheaply. The UK editions really don't look as good on the shelf. Love the series btw!

Will this mean there will be a reprint of the UK hardcovers at some point? I need a Howling Dark and Demon in White to complete my set.
Unfortunately, UK reprints of 2 and 3 are very unlikely. Outside 200 signed copies, none were ever printed at all, so it's be a first printing, and Gollancz lost the series to Head of Zeus, so they have no incentive to reprint--especially considering the Broken Binding editions coming later this year.

Yo I have a very important lore question, in Empire of Silence - toward the beginning - Hadrian is with his brother watching Colosso. The brother is drinking some blue sports drink, if I recall... Now are we talking Powerade, Gatorade, or some sort of Alani / Celsius blue raspberry sort of deal? Thanks.

How is it selling overall? Because I just had a discussion with one of the publishers in Hungary and they cry about “punishing long series that are not sure to be a best seller just hyped on social media”. It’s an interesting topic. Especially now that booktok is in the race and the selling will go up and the second hard cover is coming out and this news? Why would a publisher pick up a series if it’s not a banger for their budget? For me it’s not a real thing because I read anyway. But it would be nice to share here too. This is just an awesome series and as fast as you write…? 😁

As for Switch, it's possible he might get a short story down the line somewhere, but anything longer than that isn't likely.
Did you end up better of financially than you would be if they never broke the contract? Or did it not end up making a difference ultimately?
This seems like a good move for Chris and the series, but I hate to see Baen lose such a good series as well.
