Love the passion and detail in your city-building. It made me think a little bit about what Innsmouth might have turned into (Shadow over Innsmouth). I honestly can’t wait to read the book. :)
Great video it was interesting seeing how the things you wanted to play out in your story influenced your world building and vice versa! And thanks for the template
Congrats on 50,000 This was a good video. I have a few fictional town in my books. These are towns I’ve fleshed out a LITTLE bit, not much. And now you have me wanting to spend time expanding on those places. Awesome video. - Rhayne
@@readingwritingrhayne Thank you Rhayne! I’d love to hear about some of these towns you have (or if you’ve talked about them in a video, lmk which one so I can go watch!)
@@ldjwrites lol most definitely. I don’t think I’ve discussed them at length in any video in the past. But you’ve inspired me to lay it all on the table in a video lol. I do have a fictional school in the first book I ever wrote, though ny other books aren’t set at a school, that particular university is mentioned in all of my books. There’s bound to be at least one character who has graduated from there in every genre of book that I’ve written
@@ldjwrites It has been awesome! I looked back at my first chapter in my book and I saw so many contradictions 🤣 honestly should've did the worldbuilding before I started writing.
Thanks for sharing this with us!😊It's definitely given me some ideas to think about for my own worldbuilding process for my current wip. How do you balance not over building so that it doesn't take away from the drafting process?
@@tashiswriting No problem! And great question actually. I build as I go. Notice I didn’t have this template built until I was more than halfway done with my WIP. I treat my settings like video game maps. I learn about them as the characters move through them, and fill in the gaps when needed. I create a framework before I start, but I purposefully leave details open so I can find them out organically while writing. Hopefully that made sense!
@@ldjwrites haha it does! Thanks 😊 That's an interesting approach letting it build organically like that! I would like to try that one time for sure. I definitely relate with the setting being its own character so I've done a lot of pre-planning into my wip's outline, gonna try not to overdo it so it doesn't get too overwhelming 😅
Here's the link to the template!

Hopefully you end up enjoying it once you’re done reading! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on everything :)

This is right on time! I started doing some worldbuilding today! Excited to see how your story progresses :)
That's exciting! Hopefully it goes well! Thank you so much for watching. I'll be posting a writing update vlog this weekend :)

This video is awesome! I did the same thing for my kingdom. I love seeing how other people worldbuild their world/city!
Thank you so much! I hope your worldbuilding has been going well! I've been meaning to finish watching the rest of your vlog.

@@NiveaK. I feel that. I had to go back and fix some inconsistencies as well haha.
Your link is missing for the template. Good video btw :)
@@kierrascott7704 I just fixed it! Thanks for letting me know and for watching the video :)
