    Hmm. I'd put the General at the back of the pack, even considering how new the Commander and Rmax are. Polaris quality, fit and finish just don't measure up in my opinion.

    We decided to go with the 2021 General XP 4 1000 in military tan. After the first rides in the general we would make that decision 1000 times over! Also the shorter wheel base is the only way to fit in our 16ft cargo camper conversion.

    I kind of started looking at the commander xtp at first because of price difference, but when you start adding in the things the General comes with such as stereo and what not, they start becoming closer in price.

    Just got my 2022 XP4 Deluxe Ride Command Edition. Yes the shocks have adjustment knobs. Comments below of fit and finish on Polaris are ridiculous. Please be specific, where and what isn't fitting. 99% of belt issues is not breaking them in properly. I'll come back after I get past the 25 hour mark. Good review bud.

      Chris, never understood the fit and finish complaint either. My 2018 G2 Ride command interior, panels etc are all perfect. I have over 2k miles on unforgiving, hard rock mountainous terrain of the eastern Cascades. No rattles or anything. Only issue I've had is a shredded stock belt at 1600 miles that I smoked in the dunes. My fault.

    • @chrishill1286
      @chrishill1286 2 роки тому

      245 miles in. Braking it like I spent 30k plus dollars and the general is a great rig. I'll be changing the oil this coming weekend and inspecting the drive train fluids for levels. The belt and take offs are smooth. I'm still limiting the rpms, I have briefly taken it to 8k rpms 5 times from running at 5-7k. Never punched it out yet from a standing start and really I have no reason to youtube drag race this machine. But I will be hitting the trails with it for bear hunting and exploring so stay tuned.

      I totally agree I got 2022 general xp 4 deluxe. Brake in on the belt is crucial. I'm 6' 3and can cut in the back with no problems. Love the suspension on it. Also aftermarket for polaris is hands down better and less confusing than the Can-Am. Not bashing can am. Just pointy out some details. The bed holds more the 600. I know I tested 700. Did not like do it but it held. Also the shorter wheel base much easier to get around tight area's and rocking.

      The Generals seem to have better build quality. Not sure why. We looked at Polaris Pro XPs and my wife barely touched the headlight and it almost fell out. All the panels had large( over and inch) gap between the outside plastic where it wraps over to the inside dash area. But when we looked at the general, it didn’t really appear to have that issue.

    I have the zforce 950 , was very unsure when i bought it but after 1700 miles , still on same brake pads , never slipped or smoked a belt , no axles or bearings issues , I am running 30 inch carnavores , its been a beast , way more repliabe than can cam am or polaris i have owned. After i installed a box on the back, it looks good now,

    I don't care much for the looks of the commander, I like the generals looks best of any sxs, yamaha rmax next in the looks, from what I've seen in youtube vids, seems like the rmax is fastest of the 3 but I'd bet any of the 3 would be great machines and I be happy with either of the 3 ,in the 4 seaters, I'd much rather have the yamaha for the shorter wheel base.

      @DerangedOffRoad  2 роки тому +3

      Commander seating position is very comfortable. Slightly more reclined than the General, but nothing like an X3. In the four seat versions the commander has more leg room for passengers.
      Cab space in the general is bigger as in more shoulder room between passengers.

    Another thought is the general seems so unreliable. Lots of blown diffs from turf mode and belt slap issues. Not to mention the xp is so damn expensive. My dealer quoted me 25k for a damn 2 seater

    • @WooleySwampAdventures
      @WooleySwampAdventures 2 роки тому +1

      Actually since the change from planetary to spider gears for the turf mode assembly in '19, it's been a non issue, and since the XP came out in '20 and has never had the old style it's a disingenuous assumption.

    I own a 2021 General XP RC and I'm selling it to purchase the Canam commander. Both are 4 seaters. My father owns the Canam and after trail riding rock climbing and snow I felt the Canam was a better machine. More comfortable, more confidence, and I believe a better ride.
    The main points on why I like the Canam better is:
    1. Seating position is more comfortable for me, I'm 200lbs at 5'10 and I felt the Canam was better for me. (I don't need the extra space) If I was larger/taller the Canam wouldn't work.
    2. The Canam is Faster
    3. The Canam has better Low-end with the trail mode, easier to navigate rocks with a less jumpy pedal.
    Things I don't like about the Canam.
    1. It needs mirrors, the dang thing is long.
    2. Not sure why it doesn't have a radio, as it should.
    Things that didn't matter to me:
    1. Ride Command, I don't ride with anybody that uses it. Frankly I use Onx anyways, so I will be getting a tablet and mount.

    Pretty well is equal to, or beats both these machines on HP, travel, towing, and ground clearance numbers depending on the 2 or 4 seat model.
    Not to mention quality and reliability!
