1. The Mark of the Beast, is about a counterfeit version of something that God created that Satan replaced.
2. The Sabbath, is Family day of mankind with God.
3. Satan replaced Gods Sabbath day with a day to Satan that mankind is blinded in knowing about.
4. Gods Sabbath, is Friday sunset until Saturday sunset.
5. Satan replaced the True Sabbath with the counterfeit version of Sunday, during the Time of Rome.
6. Sunday is optional now but, will be enforced worldwide by an embargo by Satan's final Empire to come.
7. Those who will obey the Sunday to Satan then to God's Friday sunset until Saturday sunset, will receive The Mark of the Beast and will be allowed to buy and sell on the Earth.
8. Those who choose to obey Gods Sabbath of Friday sunset until Saturday sunset, will not be able to buy or sell anything on the Earth and will be murdered.
So.... basically if there is a requirement to have some kind of digital ID in the future, particularly under or tattooed onto my skin, as a prerequisite to being able to have any commerce, than it's okay to go ahead and do that. It won't be what I think?

Very good video. I'm a former Jehovah's Witness and this is my main concern to research about within orthodoxy so I understand how to change and correct my understanding of "the end" times. And I loved how simple you explained it. I've let go of all the fear mongering I was born into and have finally let myself attend an orthodox church and I have been appreciating Christianity so much more with the actual truth about Jesus Christ. Everyday I'm shocked of how mislead I was. It's like climbing out of the dark and afraid of the light but desperate to be free from all the lies. I love this community so much I can't wait to one day get re baptized. Great video! :)

Protestantism has a ton of Hal Lindsey level gospel of fear on this as well. The Baptists have made it their battle cry. I wouldn't let my kids visit the Baptist chiurch of freinds because it was none stop "Left Behind" terror. Even in a pretty balanced non-denominational church, it would walk through the door far too often, and have to be refuted over and over. Fear sells, obviously.

I trust 2000 years of unbroken Apostolic succession rather than some random dude with a degree gassing the air with their own interpretation of everything for an hour coupled with constant judging our brothers in what they eat, drink, or what sabbaths they keep… spiritually exhausting diabolical false dogma.

Yeah but also the Pharisees thought the same about their 2k years of unbroken successions from the time of Moses along with their traditions. Somehow they were not able to progress as new light was revealed.

Hi Ben, this is an excellent video: informative, balanced and well-supported by scripture and delivered in a non-sensational manner. For me, it also helped me realize that I am bit too superstitious about the “dreaded number” (as I call it) and even though you convinced me that this is an irrational fear, I am still going to avoid that number wherever and whenever I see it … 😂. Revelation is not addressed in our Divine Liturgy (except maybe tangentially, in the Creed) and to date, I have not heard a Parish Priest address it in a homily. Finally, we shy away from it in Bible Study. And, you explained why: it is complicated to explain and could be divisive. So, I am very grateful for this video … because I can refer it to my fellow, orthodox, Christian friends… and other Christian friends… with whom I occasionally dialogue about this topic. Thanks again.

I really love orthodox doctrine. I’m in a non-denominational church but it’s pretty grounded. I will say American Christianity is something else.

A non-denomination is still a denomination and there's no such thing as "American Christianity".
@@thegiftedseer6764 I guess so. I think what I mean is I’m in Africa, there are ways an African church will worship which will be different to hillsong. And cultures do influence how a place adopts Christianity. We are big on respect and things like having a ‘personal relationship’ with God wasn’t emphasised because older people, at least in my culture are first revered and kids hardly talk to their parents how they want. The services were longer etc.
It’s not an insult in any way, it’s just based on who we are we may emphasise certain things. It’s not a bad thing it’s just interesting. 🤗

I find the contention that St. Paisios, a clairvoyant Saint, was influenced by Protestant eschatology quite dubious, tbh. This is a disputed opinion among Orthodox. I’ve read the book in which St. Paisios’ counsels on this topic appear. He is certainly very Orthodox in his mindset and not at all fear-mongering in that book. Otherwise, good video.

I just remember the 666 talents of gold Solomon collected as tax. Kings were not allowed to do this. See Deuteronomy 17
Excellent video! I liked the point about how you cannot accidentally mark yourself. I see it as similar to the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It’s not something that happens by accident. It happens as a result of consistently hardening your heart against God.

The Revelation of St. John must be viewed in light of all the prophets because they complement each other. The fourth beast is the Final Islamic Caliphate under the leadership of the Antichrist and the false prophet until Christ comes again to destroy them and redeem his people too the J's.
God sees every kingdom or nation as a beast except His kingdom which we are apart of. Amen bless God forever and ever amen.

I was born protestant as can be and it made me cringe and leave into a rock n roll lifestyle worshipping monstrosity for decades and then I got utterly mesmerized by Orthodoxy in contrast to what I was raised with and I now argue and advocate for it with a passion and I apologize if I am unworthy or ineligible to do so. I am an ogre with a hair trigger temper that looks like a creep with a vehicle that Mad Max mutant thuggs would throw in the trash and that's why I don't even try to go to a church and I should stay protestant just to make them look bad lol

Unfortunately, your view of Holy Scripture not being viewed literally is flawed. Scripture is both literal and metaphorical at the same time; this is the mystical nature to it. “The Mark of the Beast” could very well be a literal physical mark, the book of 3 Maccabees makes it evident of this possibility and lays the foundation of how Christians should act in such an event. Interestingly, 3 Maccabees is only canon in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
Concerning the vax…well, considering what it’s made out of and how it was enforced, it is very much not a “fear mongering” position to be wary of it and it is certainly the Christian path to reject it. 3 Maccabees paints a clear picture of what happens to those who choose convenience and the fear of man over God and His Law.
Ultimately, the true Orthodox way to approach End Times ecclesiastical views is with the Fear of God. The Law of God is written on each and every human’s heart, deep down we all know what is right and wrong. I would much rather be held accountable by God for overly fearing disobedience to Him, than to suffer being viewed by man as a fear monger.

Great explanation but, I thought the number 3 was the number of God being He is the Triune God and 6 is the number of man so using 666 is supposed to be a blasphemy against God and man pressing himself as God?
Also, it is taught that the antichrist will arrive when the third temple is rebuilt and will do a great many wonders which spurs in everything else.

As a postmillenialist I have not seen anything from the orthodox church on why they deny postmillenialism. I know the idea of a literal 1000 year postmil take is not right and I agree but what about the postmil view that is the optimistic amil take on things?
There is a consistent emphasis on the point that there will be a falling away in the immediate days before the Second Coming that is inconsistent with the idea of “conquering the world” before Jesus returns.

I tried to find videos (I was hoping this one would) that taught orthodox views of eschatology and all I ever get is weak criticism of pre-millennial dispensationalism. Why can’t anyone in the Orthodox Church just lay out what they believe and not worry about me? That would be most helpful to me and many others. Is it that their own doctrines cannot stand on their own?

I don’t find classical premillennialism to be incompatible with the ecumenical council. You have a literal thousand years at the beginning of the kingdom that has no end. That said I do not understand Revelation and I have the highest esteem for Justin Martyr and for the ecumenical councils and for the creed the holy fathers gave us.

If the mark of the beast is just your actions how does it prevent you to from buying or selling. If it ment your actions would it say you get the mark in your hand and forehead not one or the other and why not mark in your chest for your heart. I dunno im thinking its a literal mark or like a chip.
Hey if y’all gave up praying to saints, images, believing that the spirt preceded only from the Father which the Bible clearly states it is also the Spirt of Christ (Philippians 1:9, Romans 8:9-10, and Galatians 4:6), and faith apart from works justifies you (this does not mean works are not necessary because true faith produces works) I would be orthodox. Until then I will remain a reformed orthodox Presbyterian.
I feel like he makes to many generalizations about protestants in this video, I understand what he is talking about because I was brought up around a lot of radical fundamentalists, but I am protestant and agree with around 95% of what he is saying. There are a lot of Protestants that look a lot worse then they actually are because of the prosperity preachers who want to get rich, cults and just ignorant people who don't interpret Biblical literature and who refuse to let go of the presuppositional ideas that they have come up with in their head about who they think God is.
Well, some of things you say have no biblical backing, you just say stuff as law. Christs 2nd coming comes in sections and progressively in parts until its final end. Luke 17 - "..Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed" - this is connected with 1 taken and 1 left behind and also Gods wrath by fire which Saint Paul says Christians are not ordained for, so is why they are taken up and out into God 'barn', or place in heaven. Later on Christ returns back to earth with His Saints and the bride (who is already in Heaven).
As someone who grew up terrified in a post-trib rapture-believing church & has studied this as an adult pretty extensively, it is totally untrue that there is no evidence before Darby of a pre-trib rapture. (Biblically or in the early church fathers.) Do your research. It's even in the Didache. People pick & choose what they want to believe.

Revelation is never read in the Orthodox Church- I have been chanting for 27 years- Iam a 7th day Adventist convert- the god portrayed in it - is far from The Father Jesus revealed- He lets the rain and sun shine on all His children!! Jesus even asked His Father to forgive those who crucified Him. End times items I have not heard even a whisper - the creed only says “ we look for the resurrection”. His kingdom will have NO end!
The Orthodox Church considers the Book to be Canonical and of high esteem.
Claiming that it is somehow a false representation of God and teaching that online would be considered Hersey.
My understanding is that the Church will only feature readings from Revelation when the End Times are irrefutably underway. That is to say, it's being "saved for later" when it'll be most applicable for the last remnant of true Christians in those days.

Because of much turmoil, and multiple apocalyptic frenzies in the first several centuries of the Church the Apocalypse of St.John was deeply questioned. It took fifteen centuries for full acceptance. Thus the book is not included in the Orthodox lectionary.
The reason Revelation is not red in the church is because we won’t understand it until it starts to happen.

I was born an orthodox Christian but after reading and studying the Bible for many years I left the church because it contradicts the Holy Scriptures. Actually it's like the Roman Catholic church (the beast in Revelation).
God says "keep the 7th day Sabbath (Saturday) holy" and that's a sign between God and His people (that's the Seal of God).
On the other hand, Pope (the beast in Revelation) says "keep Sunday holy" and that's the mark of his authority. Whose Authority Will You Recognize?
