I’m not familiar with China’s coal fired power plants but I work at one on the Ohio River and a decade ago it upgraded its process of cleaning the exhaust from the boilers and its made an incredible difference. Went from 250-300 ppm of particulates, depending on the quality of coal, to 15-30 ppm and also a tremendous decrease in the carbon monoxide, mercury, and sulfur dioxide. Coal power can be clean if it’s done correctly, responsibly and with sustainable practices and public well-being prioritized over profit.
This technology should be shared by coal burning countries for the sake of clean world

The sulfur that’s filtered out is sent into scrubbers, mixed with crushed limestone(calcium carbonate)slurry and made into gypsum crystals that is then taken and used for drywall, concrete, and fertilizer. I’m pretty sure China, and most countries for that matter, also use bag filters and scrubbers in their coal-fired power plants. Anything the news media reports should be scrutinized and taken in with a healthy, and proper, dose of skepticism. They habitually lie and misrepresent the truth for their political and corporate benefactors’, and in a lot of cases owners, agendas.
Imagine how far outside of reality one has to be to believe anything coming from Pompeo at this point in American history.
