Thank you so much for this video! My car battery finally kicked the bucket today and I needed to replace it. With your help I was able to do it all on my own (aside from the ride from a friend to get the new battery) in under 30 mins! (First time ever so give me some slack lol) I'm so proud of myself, thank you so much!
Best video on youtube on the subject. Safely in correct order, coherently and efficiently. You earned a 👍🏻 Only tip I would give is to put a shop towel over the positive terminals once you disconnect to avoid any chance of an arc. Im ocd lol.
This may be one of the worst, most over-engineered battery boxes I've ever seen. Clearly designed to force most people into the stealership for a simple battery change. I've done lots of work on my own vehicles over the last 30 years, and even I was confused opening the hood to my girlfriend's car and had to come find this video. Well done Chevy.
Thanks for this. I had to change the battery in a diesel Cruze. Seeing how to release the latches was a big help. It was -27 C and your steps helped it get done quickly.
Thank you so much sir. I’m old school and when I see what I had to do I was lost lol imagine a simple battery change could be so different then I was use to. Well done good video thanks for sharing.
I just used this video to replace my battery. I almost had a heart attack when it stopped working earlier today. Made it super simple & easy to do. Thank you so much!!
Thanks for this video! Im at college and my dad sent me this vid when I told him my battery died earlier this week. I just had to pick up a new battery and follow your easy instructions!
Thank you so much for making this video! It was my first time changing a battery and I was a nervous wreck. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this.
This was great. I got the old battery out in about 15 minutes and the new one in in about the same time. I haven't done this before so my times should be faster in the future. Giving the socket sizes and the torque values made the process much easier.
You good sir are a life saver. I saw all the little terminal and went “shit”. But after seeing your video I’m positive I can install a battery into my car. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I’d never changed a battery before and was so intimidated but this was straight forward and I got it done with no issues!
Very easy and clear instructions, thanks for the video, I don’t need to change the battery as of now, but when i do, i have this video saved 😊😊 Why would anyone dislike this video?
Good morning, You helped me a lot with my Chevrolet Cruze and I'm very grateful for your video 👍 my car lights up very since I replaced the battery and all thanks to you. Thank you very much 👍👍
Thanks for the great up front and well explained video. I know I can do this myself but because I'm not that strong I'm going to take it to a shop tomorrow.
I thought the same thing. Us weekend warriors are unlikely to own a torque wrench. My takeaway is to over tighten directly on the terminals themselves.
Hi - Thanks for watching! We can only answer your question by stating that according to BCI, the correct battery for the vehicle is a Group 47, 525CCA.
The battery the car part shop sold me that is apparently the right fit isn’t fitting for some reason, the top clamp won’t fit over, I’m stuck on what to do because I don’t know what battery actually works for this car, or the depot changed the battery tray I just spent 300 fixing the rocket gasket myself 😩
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! We recommend that you refer to the vehicle owner's manual for the correct battery. Be sure the battery you buy meets or exceeds the original equipment manufacturer's specifications in every way.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! If memory Saving was not used to the vehicle’s computers lost power during the battery replacement, some reset procedures may be necessary. We suggest that you check the vehicle owner’s manual or a service manual for information on how to do this.
Hi - Thanks for watching! We usually use memory saving procedures when disconnecting the battery. We suggest following the vehicle manufacturer's procedures outlined in the vehicle's owner manual and service/repair manuals.
Ok I don’t know who need to hear this or not, but I’m just gonna put this out there, for the divider where it comes out so easily in the video, and I know this mechanic makes it look easy, sometimes the divider will get stuck, make sure to get under the divider and make sure the “clip” is straight, it’s a pain in the ass but trust me once you make it straight wiggle it a little bit it should come out straight out. Disconnecting the battery it’s the easy part, that divider it’s a pain
Спасибо хорошее видео.... У нас в России не нашёл такого простого видео и понятного.... Чтоб не дергалось и понятно было снято... Хоть и английский не понятно....
dont attempt this with a adjustable wrench like i did when that was the only tool i had, sockets are the answer. the wonderful engineers made sure it was not possible. It always blows my mind why engineers create problems where there were none before.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! Referring to the vehicle owner's manual and/or a service/repair manual for the vehicle will provide the correct information.
No mechanic wants to teach you how to do anything on your own. Otherwise they don’t have a job. Vehicles especially compacts are very simple. Just smaller parts. Do it yourselves unite!
Crying out loud. Why the heck the fuse box is fixed on top of the battery. Very unconvenient. Anyway thanks a lot for this explanation how to dig out the dead battery from inside the vehicle. Have a nice day.
As a man growing up without a dad in his life I really appreciate this video, sir.
Sorry to hear about that... we're more than happy to help!
A mechanic almost discouraged me from attempting something that seemed very easy. Thanks for saving me $$$$$.
Yup. Those jackasses will do that

great instructions. I'm confused on how tight to put bolts back on. How do you measure that?

Hi. - You’re welcome and thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
How important are those torque specs? When I removed my battery those nuts were super tight. Didnt feel like no 40 60 80.

Hi - Thanks for sharing your experience!
Is there anything you have to do once you start the car after changing battery? Does the computer have to be reset or anything?

Really helpful video, I did it and worked!, Thanks so much, like and subscribed
Hi - You're welcome and thanks for watching!
Is it super important to tighten each bolt to a specific torque? Or can I just tighten but not too much?
