[TRIP REPORT] Firefly Boeing 737-800 From Phuket HKT To Penang PEN In Economy Class

Firefly is a low cost subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines and has an extensive domestic network within Malaysia. Their international network is however very limited to just a few destinations in neighbouring countries. The airline has a modest fleet of ATR 72-600's and former MAS Boeing 737-800's.
Their bright orange colour reminds me a bit of easyJet, but ofourse they are very different from them. In this trip report you can see how this small airline company is like on an international flight from Thailand to Malaysia and why it shouldn't be called a low cost arlines.
Firefly offers affordable prices to fly around Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand like any other LCC, but they still provide refreshments for free to all passengers. Therefore I like to call them more of a hybride airline and my first experience with them has really amazed me!

I never heard of Firefly, a low cost carrier in Malaysia until today. So Firefly is from Penang. I would like to give a Firefly, a low cost carrier in Malaysia a try in the summer.
