@@rafaelantoniomartinez4371it depends, because the increased damage output can also cause him to kill them too quickly to get any meaning out of that extra tick of heal, not to mention that tanky enemies tend to hit harder alongside surviving longer

While people always (rightfully) bash on Surtr/Chalter/Mlynar for destroying balance with a sledgehammer, funny enough Jaye had done the same thing to the 4* rarity since launch and barely anybody noticed
I rant about it on occasion in discord Deepcolor's module does the same thing Might want to talk about how their modules made the game a bit less fun for me.
I mean to be fair in Jaye's case he at least has the usual Merchant drawback where he pretty much stalls your DP count, although module kinda fixes that.
I like Humus a lot as a character, he’s the cool ojisan that wants to help. As a 4 star unit, I think he’s decent. He’s not horrible like Greyy, Quartz, or Dur-nar; but he’s definitely not amazing like Jaye, Cutter, or May. The players that like him will make it work.
Its not really difficult to make him work, he already does, his kit is essentially a budget version of penance, feed him trash mobs to build up bulk then snowball.
I love humus as husbando, even more when his en va came out. I have him at m6 max lv right now. And sadly cant bring him to chapter 12 since there are tons of hard hitting enemies.
As someone who's gotten to the bear a few times, short of soloing La Pluma only IS2, though not yet still after only 300+ runs, and loves everything about reaper guards, I rolled not for Ines or Cement, but for Humus, burnt my 4 star tokens on him as well, can't wait for Executor with guns again, but even shorter range, and can't wait doubly so for Ulpianus as a Reaper. Long live best subclass! :D Alas, Humus is still stuck at 3 cost on max 1st skill, and Executor lacks any empowered attack skill to utilize the one master race tool of them all - Spinach! Thematically fits though, since La Pluma and Highmore have only got sailor backgrounds.
@@DrSilvergun Pretty sure it 's just Popeye. Can't recall spinach being renowned as the best tool to counter scurvy. Then again, I didn't know chocolate pasta could also grant herculean strength, but Arknights proved me wrong on that point. :D
Took me half a year to finally notice that Humus will almost always struggle to build up a barrier that is at least 50% of his HP THICC. I may be a bit harsh on him. EP12 happens to feature a bunch of hard hitting foes after all.
The only weak enemies are the blademasters and they're not even from this event. The actual Ch12 melee ranged and defender type enemies all definitely hit harder than usual
Humus is definitely better at E1 compared to Estelle, I think beginners that need some aoe guards might be better picking Humus instead of leveling Popukar or trying to E2 Estelle.
I got him to start IS with a cheap operator that need no healer and I somehow never got stelle from the recruitment. Really good to E1 sl7 max level for that reason, but I think he'll never get more than that
Great video. Love seeing You explain the operators inside the niche and it also helps on informing the basics on them outside of 4* as well. Hope You keep posting these
The thing that botheres me the most is the gains of his skills with masteries, they are simply not worth it. At least he is a decent starter for stages were i do emnity niche
im building ojisan squad so humus is a fine addition for the ojisan squad, also the survivability of humus and his barrier is realy something not like other reaper so its nice but yeah..
The other five star reaper, Highmore, is kind of relevant to the discussion because she is freely available to everyone. She generally outperforms Humus in most relevant ways, which means everyone has a better reaper available to them, even if the five star costs a little more.
Not sure how many people noticed but I feel like Humus is kind of a direct power creep to Flamebringer since both fill the niche of gaining HP to become more tanky from attack/killing enemies, but Humus being more intuitive to use… granted I haven’t built him yet to compare to my flamebringer but the showcase videos I’ve seen just give me that vibe.
When I randomly got Humus from temp recruitment in IS, I was surprised at how good he actually is. Like dont get me wrong, you probably wouldnt use him in normal content, but hes got really good survivability, which for me has always been the biggest struggle for Reapers
I think they should change how his talent work. It should be like this gain shield whenever skill activied base on hit, and if his hp at max will convert the healing into shield. So with this he still can gain shield while also healing himself.
I raise humus because i love male fortes, muscles and his voice is Manly af but also sweet Thanks for the masteries recomendation, such a shame his s1 gains are so poor :(( S2 it is then
I really like humus as a character and he's the first reaper guard i e2'd since i don't have la pluma/haven't invested in highmore. most of the time i've used him i've actually been using him with stainless, if there's space, putting him behind two stainless turrets gives him a lot of extra healing and he basically fully charges his shield between waves, on top of the other benefits stainless turrets give! It's been fun going through ch12 and doing this when i can.
I’d say the biggest struggle with humus i’ve seen is that he doesn’t really reaper that well. His passive allows him to stack up healing, but since reapers are generally lane holders, he doesn’t really get to keep that shield very long, or he gets to keep it but it’s irrelevant because he isn’t taking much damage anyway. In comparison, la pluma’s passive allows her to dish out more damage and heal more (courtesy of atk spd) and highmore allows her to lane hold against elemental enemies (quite a rare niche from what i’ve seen) and her frankly underutilised s2 *can* out-tank more than the other two. Also, his s1 is worse than la pluma/highmore in healing when tanking more than one enemy because the 5 stars get a total four instances of 50 (200) while humus gets two instances of 50 + 80 (180), but that 20 hp doesn’t really matter too much.
Unironically a really interesting video, not the conclusions just the fact that at the end you came to a different conclusion than what you had at the start of the video. It is an interesting byproduct with how sort of free-talk videos are structured, compared to more scripted stuff. I have one question and one mention: The question is does Humus's mod change how you view the operator? He's certainly stronger but nothing has changed much so I imagine he doesn't change much for you. The mention is that Humus's block count increase has one other notable effect: extra healing. Since reapers heal based on block count, an increase in block count would mean his healing is increased by 50% in specific scenarios, which feeds into an increase in barrier, which maintains the vigour, etc. It's a shame you didn't find Highmore all that notable (understandable tbh, I forget Highmore's name all the time) since from my knowledge she and Humus are more comparable than Humus and La Pluma, with La Pluma focused on dps and Highmore/Humus focusing more on the defensive side of reapers. Highmore has the edge when there's elemental damage abound and the increase in stats make her more notable from a general perspective but Humus isn't completely overshadowed by her from my memory. Anyway vid es gud me like.
This actually is a scripted video, if it seems like a free talk video that's just a skill issue from me. I did realize that I dislike reapers as a conclusion at the end of writing it though :D I think Humus module just makes him better at what he does but changes nothing about when you would want to use him so I elected not to talk about it. It would be akin to examing the diffrence between e2 20 humus and e2 70 humus.
Unless you specifically need a Reaper that relies on attack speed instead of attack power, or are in a situation where Exe absolutely cannot charge his skills, then she gets completely overshadowed, as expected of a 6*.
