- Gourmet Cooking in the Wild - No Supermarkets Needed
We're off on an adventure to find and cook food using local produce, avoiding supermarkets and hitting up small farm shops instead. Along the way, we meet interesting people, tackle tough hills, and dodge unpredictable animals. Our quest takes us to a farm shop where we score some amazing Produce, which we cook up in the wilderness. It's all about the thrill of fresh, quality food and making delicious meals with what we find. Despite a few hiccups, we whip up a fantastic meal and show how staying active and eating well can be a fun and rewarding experience. Join us for this tasty journey!

I grew up in that area. When I mentioned that ponies, cows, pigs were allowed to roam freely in the forest and heathland, colleagues would not believe me until I showed them a youtube video. I also remember cycling several times along the roads you show in the video. Some of roads look initially easy as they are straight, but as you found there is a slight incline that goes on for miles and there always seems to be a headwind. There is a good butcher / sausage shop in New Milton, if you are still in the area.
Lymington has a bunch of historical sites from buckland rings, to the salterns, pirates / toll house, etc. -And there is the concrete tower which you will see on the horizon (Sway Tower) that stands out for miles. Longslade Bottom, and views of the heath land are quite a spectacle.
Enjoy the area and your travels. These videos are a far cry from the "how to make ketchup and branston pickle" which is how I initially found your channel, but still interesting to watch. All the best from someone who is now living on the other side of the pond.
Fascinating, we haven't set off yet but I suspect Lymington, Pennington, New Milton and so on will be on our route, although the New Milton Highstreet is a little off the main drag.. I'll certainly look out for a good butcher.. I'm told Lymington has lost almost all theirs?
Life is a Journey, ours is very undulating in many senses.. Thanks
Spectacular views and a very nice meal. The mushrooms, potatoes, and venison look great. The salt and pepper grinders are a good thing to have. You are likely eating better than the people on the airplane. Cheers, Steve and Michelle! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Very true Dwayne.. I have to say for a 1st Test run we were both very happy.. Thanks buddy
A quick update on the fromage de tete I made a couple of years ago. It went extremely well. Some time later, I got my hands on three pig's heads, about which the less head the better. It would be a little less nerve-wracking viewing watching you ride down those beautiful country roads wearing something a little brighter in colour.
Enjoy your trip and bon apetit.
Thank you Amy, it does seem like I might have to spend the next few years dressed like a cautious road worker just to keep everyone happy.
That looked a really nice farm shop. My lady, you shall eat like a princess!
Darling traveling duo!!❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜💖💕 I'm loving the video, because we get to see and experience along with you both. 62! Doing much better than I was at 32. Respect. The shop not allowing filming. I had one that didn't let me take photos of cabinet food, so my, then, 90yr old mum could see on phone from car outside. Had to memorize, get order and run back. That was 2017. I'd think they'd want the publicity given your numbers and reach. Food looked amazing btw! Free hug ponies and friendly horses.. why leave such a magical place? 😊🥰 rewatching again with glee. MUAH!!! Love you!!
This looks so good! I’m a bit jealous. I wish they sold venison in stores/shops but you basically have to know someone who hunts or from what I recently found out, you can go directly to a processor and you can ask if someone hasn’t paid their bill and get it that way.
But when I do get access to someone, especially as a kid. My mom or dad would make a venison roast, like a pot roast or venison and gravy over rice. I can’t really describe the venison and gravy but both were/are really delicious!!!
You guys enjoy and have a lovely time/trip^^
Thanks Petri.. Interesting thank you for sharing your tales.. 👍👍

LOL.. We kind os share the licking BW.. TMI..
@@Steve-Owens 😋 yumm
strange about not being allowed to film in the shop.... i think exposure like that would be beneficial to a shop in a place like that. might boost customers interested in it. silly people. sigh. great place for a bike ride though. love to follow along your adventures
I totally agree Eddie but also I try to listen to her points, they are wrong but have every right to be so.. :o)
Looks delicious. But handling raw meat without being able to sanitise the board and your hands... I don't care how hygienic the butcher is or how fresh the meat is, I wouldn't trust it. When are you starting your cycle? Temperatures appear to be stabilising in the UK now. Might be a good time to start your cycling now. How long do you think the cycle will take you? Have you had any further thoughts about what you'll do once you've reached John O Groats? Would be interesting to see what the trains are like in the UK. 🙂
Answer that and more in the Livestream I'm about to do Ben.
Maybe in the next hour.. we are full on at the moment
I see youtube seems to have 'hidden' my previous comment. I am noticing that often, mabye it doesnt like what I am saying about meat handling...
try and catch a nice fish😂
I don't have a rod.. 🤣
Use your bare hands.
