Great review! Just keep an eye on the roof, we have a 2020 2902 and had to reseal a couple spots that the caulk started to crack. Wish we had those recliners, they look way more inviting than our dinette.
I was just curious can you get into the camper when the slide out is inside? For instance can you use the bathroom and access that area in the kitchen when the bump out is retracted? It's very roomy with it I also wonder how much weight it adds? Any features that you wish it had? Have you used it in the winter when it's really cold? You didn't show how many burners were on the stove? And how large is the oven?
Great questions - yes you can get inside and use the bathroom when the slide out is closed. If you are over 200-225lbs it might be a bit too tight to squeeze through, but if you are thinner it's manageable. We have an Arctic Fox 1150 now (not the palomino) and the Arctic Fox has a few more inches of room to move through when the slide is shut compared to the palomino. We highly recommend checking out arctic fox if you are looking for something for the winter months since the palomino's are not insulated well at all. the stove is a 3 burner stove and the oven is a standard truck camper size oven - you could fit a pizza in it or baking sheet but nothing too big. Feel free to check out our Arctic Fox 1150 video to see the differences. We had a lot of issues with this palomino. Since switching a year ago we've had very minor problems with our Arctic Fox.
Thanks! Honestly we ended up having a ton of issues with this camper... we got an Arctic Fox 1150 less than a year after we got this one and the AF has been amazing! We've had the AF for almost 2 years now with no issues.
Good video. Quick question. We're considering the same model camper but haven't seen one in person. Can you get in and out of the camper without putting the slide out?
May I ask what kind of mileage you get with your diesel with the camper on it? Is your diesel a V-6? Also, on the camper, how much water does your fresh water tank hold, and what are the grey and black water holding tank capacities? Thanks! Looks great! Good video.
For sure! We range between 11.5 and 12.5mpg abd yes its the Cummins 6.7 diesel. Fresh water tank is 45 gal, gray and black are each 20gal. Hope this helps!
I finally took my HS2910 out for it's maiden voyage this past weekend. To be totally honest, I'm a bit depressed now. There's an electrical issue that killed the refrigerator and microwave and I have to bring the camper back to the dealer. I also found dozens of screws loose, missing, or drilled so deep they went through the "wood" (which is all MDF). There's a ton of warped boards, as is the bathroom door. The flooring wasn't cut correctly so it popped out of the edge guards so it instantly started peeling up. There's not one piece of trim that isn't warped and curling. The outside front solar connection cover needed replacing. There are outside edging that isn't screwed down flush so it's sticking out with a ton of silicon filling the gaps. The roof sealant is gobbed around the roofing vents and it's all over the place like their gun was pumping the whole time they were sealing it. I contacted the dealer and they're working with me. I thought I should contact Palomino to let them know the issues, but they were super rude and cold. All-in-all I'm actually regretting buying this camper now. The quality of manufacturing seems very subpar to the $30k+ price tag.
Oh wow, is yours a 2021 as well? We've been in ours for over 180 days and haven't had issues like you explained. Hope you are able to get it fixed and ready to go soon!
@@InfiniteExplorers It's a 2021 and after emailing a few people at Palomino they're a bit more receptive to correcting the issues. I just wish I hadn't had any major issues to begin with, but at least something is being done before the big holiday coming up.
Great segment - Thanks for sharing. Didn’t you change trucks from a half ton to a 1 ton? Maybe you would consider doing a video on your truck and why you chose what you did? We just purchased a 2020 Ram 3500 dually with a 2019, 11.6’ Host Mammoth truck camper and I would love to compare notes and hear what your thought process was.
That was a great review and very informative. My wife and I are considering selling our fifth wheel and buying a truck camper. We really like the HS-2910 with the slide out and theater seating. Do you know if this unit is considered a four season camper? If not, have you camped in overnight below freezing temperatures and how did it perform? Thank you both in advance!
Thanks for checking it out! The camper is not a true 4 season camper. It's done well down to about 20 degrees if you leave the heat set at 55 or 60 inside. Hope this helps!
@@InfiniteExplorers Thanks so much for that rapid response. Okay, that’s great. We could certainly live with occasional 20 degree overnight temps. We live in far north Texas and there’s a Palomino dealer near Austin and we will go check them out. Thanks again for the help!
@@doughutchison6382 we live in Tyler TX just bought a 2020 Northwood Arctic Fox 855 from Camping World. It's a four season, and it it very nice rig. We found only a handful of truck campers that are four season, Lance, Northern Lite, Arctic Fox and I think Bigfoot. We take delivery of the Arctic Fox this Friday and will be putting our 2015 Jayco 5th wheel up for sale. Good Luck.
They are great to work with! :) Very knowledgeable and thorough on their walkthroughs. If you go there tell them Infinite Explorers sent you - they'll answer all of your questions and give great tips!
Not crazy about the recliners. They are useless if your feet cannot rest on them instead of hanging off. Never would I buy one for my home like that! I would prefer a dinette /push down bed instead of the chairs. Over-all it's an ok camper and glad it suits your needs!
We have an Arctic fox 1150 now - another video on our channel. This one has a dinette in it and we like it a lot :) also turns into a good sized space for a bed
We dont mind the wet bath :) the dry bath truck campers have a bit more space and less clean up - but then there's less storage space. Lots of times we use a pop up shower tent and use the outside shower since its quick and easy.

Good to know! The recliners are one of our favorite parts about this camper :)
You both did a good job and very clean.
Thank you!
Never wanted a slide but those chairs sure look nice .
They are really comfy! We like them a lot more than we thought :) Have used them daily for 95 days and they still feel great!
Hey Magnolia Beach! Great spot, good little food shack there
Yep! Awesome area

Amazing
Good video. Quick question. We're considering the same model camper but haven't seen one in person. Can you get in and out of the camper without putting the slide out?
Yep you can - there's probably 6-8" of space to wiggle your legs between the slideout and bathroom door.
Nice video review of the camper! I am new to you channel, what was your old camper?
We had a Palomino HS750, which we also have a video of :)
Very nice camper...can you tell me the model number of that rear awning you have? I think they are also sold separately. Thanks
We will have to check it in the morning tomorrow :) Thule is the brand

Does the rear view camera integrate with your Ram?
It does not - i think there is a way to wire it but we use a 5" monitor that comes with the camera so we can set it anywhere we want

Dry weight is about 3500lbs :) we have a portable solar suitcase to set up for charging.
And the RAM 1500 can handle that weight?
@@arkadventure2 No, it has to be on a 1 ton truck with an 8-foot bed, and they have a Ram 3500 diesel now.

You can still use a hitch extension for towing :)
@@InfiniteExplorers ok thanks!

fyi, the "vent" with the screen over it is your furnace vent :) the screen is to prevent mice from getting in, glad to see you have a vent!
Yep! We purchased the screen just to be safe.
lol, bugs from nesting
Shouldn't the awning be on passenger side...
Yup, and the speakers, what a waste. There should at least be an awning over the slide

Awesome! Any rig is great if it can take you to amazing places :)
you should mention that the AC only works when you're hooked into 110 external power
Correct, good point to mention!
No generator?
Llc do
did you do anything to your truck suspension wise like airbags are extra springs
We did not - we installes timbrens on our old half ton but this truck is stock
