  • I was surprised to discover that these 12" speakers are pretty decent at noticeably cycling down to 45 ~ 50Hz, from 150' away, outdoors.

Impressive demo on the low end -- how do these speakers sound with the Bluetooth streaming, and which mixer are you using for your system please?

They sound clear using Bluetooth, though I'm not sure how stable the connection would be if I was this far away.

My mixer is a Behringer XR18.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting the speakers and a soundcraft digital mixer. They sound really good.

I talked to a CS rep at Mackie to see what they recommend for 300 person or less wedding. I asked if the Thump series was good for that and he said he would stay away from that and would go with the 212srm vclass and a DRM18s. At the end of the email he said for my application stay away from the 18s sub as it can't keep up with the srm series and 18s is entry level. What is your thoughts? Great video BTW and man those 12" are nice.

DRM specs are much better. The DRM is a little more expensive but worth it. I run the SRM212's with my JBL EON 718 subs and it sounds great. The only complaint I have about the SRM212 v-class is the overpowering mids. As you can seem in this video, he was filtering his mains to attenuate the midrange.

@@CaliforniaCreedence Yes, when set to outdoor flat, the midrange is pretty strong.
I've mixed the band in this video hundreds of times on a few different sound systems, so I had a good frame of reference.
When set to "Club", it's a V or U shaped curve, so the mids are pretty tame on that setting.
My main complaint about the speakers is how sharp the edges are - they've sliced some skin off my thumb knuckles a couple times when taking them off the tripods.

Should work just fine for the people right in front of the stage if the model specs around 125 db SPL or higher!

Was most likely set to outdoor flat for this demo.

Can you detail all the equipment involved ? I’m about to invest in mackie speakers but not sure if doing 2 12” thrash , or 1 15” over a subwoofer. Also not sure if upgrading from thrash to a thumb will be better. My goal is to connect only vocals and drums to the speakers because the guitars and bass use their own amp , any suggestions ???? The sound was amazing , your band is pretty good 👍

Basically all sources (including guitars, they use pedals with XLR outs) are plugged into my Behringer XR18, I mix it, and it comes out of my PA system!
