- This just in! My DC Collectibles DC Films Henry Cavill Batman v Superman Man of Steel action figure has arrived! Time for another action figure toy review for this manboy!
Really one of the few Superman figures that comes with laser eye beams. Wish more came with them.
Would love to pick this up, but it's gotten ridiculously expensive. Originally around $40, now it's going for hundreds. Crazy!
I got it for £5 in a vintage toy shop 😂
So bummed when the line died, beyond their already planned figures I was crazy excited for the chance of high quality Watchmen figures
This line was cancelled because there were too many competing lines doing the same thing and retailers just weren't ordering these.
It's too bad because they had prototypes for Nam-Ek, Faora, Zod, Aquaman, Katana, Killer Croc, Capt. Boomerang, BvS regular Batman, BvS Knightmare Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Jor-El, Lex Luthor
Some of these I didn’t know about. It’s a bit painful to hear of some of the figz That never made it through the prototype stage.
The Armored BvS Batman figure they did was rather kickass, better arm/leg articulation than either the Hot Toys or Mezco versions. Glow up eyes & really great sculpt & paint for an incredibly reasonable price. DAMN I woulda loved the othe two Bat-figures they'd planned.
Sometimes when companies make high quality figures they over complicate the manufacturing and engineering for joints that already exist and work well when done basically (ex. Diaphragm and waist joints, double jointed elbows and knees, ankle articulation) sometimes the simple way is the best way. If they can do the waist joint how mafex and sh figuarts, and give it Marvel Legends level articulation with the pegs not showing like Mattel that'd be perfect.
This is my definitive Cavill superman figure, once I repainted the eyes to make them look a bit bigger it looks much better, much more true to Henry Cavill's likeness, and it looks incredible standing next to the 7 inch neca Christopher Reeve superman, great review, shame that the line got cancelled, I really wanted that wonder woman
Me too. And a Batman. Seems we went through a stage where everything was getting cancelled.

I just subscribed, it's such a shame this DC toy line for some reason is just gone, and when they revealed a lot from the DCEU characters coming to toy form. Are you going to get BVS Batman from the same line?
It is a shame we didn't get a regular Batman and Wonder Woman.

Do you like this figure more than the SH Figuarts JL Superman? I have this figure (never opened it) but I was thinking of selling this and the armored Batman since I’m trying to stick to Multiverse and SH Figuarts. I still haven’t purchased the JL Figuarts Superman, so I want to know how they compare. I don’t want to sell my DC Films figures only to regret it later.
Anthony Morales I like them both. I must say I do prefer the SH Figuarts because of the scale but I’d just save a bit longer for it and keep my DC Films figures if I only had the one. Unless you have to, why choose?
Brad The DC Universe Geek I unfortunately ran out of space a while ago, so I’m trying to get rid of a lot of stuff, trying to stick to certain lines, thinking of probably getting rid of all my 7 inch figures since I mostly own 6 inch figures. My closet is full of unopened figures, it’s really embarrassing lol I need to get those figures on shelves
DC Collectibles cancelled the line just as they were releasing this figure and the Armoured Batman was a shame though cos I was hoping this line woulda been like what the Mattel Multiverse signature line that's just out should have been.
Great figures though I've got 2 one left as is and another that I got from a guy who had removed the cape so I painted it black with a silver S

Absolutely. Worst part is that they rarely give a good explanation to fans as to why they cancelled most of the stuff.
The answer to why goes back to Mattel. The whole reason this line died was because of Mattel. DC sold the farm and when they wanted to start farming they had no land to farm with (Land being licencing)
He looks more like Alec Baldwin then he does Henry Cavill.

I wonder since I’m gonna be collecting the entire dc multiverse line from Mattel and McFarlane if I got this Superman and the armored Batman would they be able to fit in that line or on a display or no?
Hello! I have both of these and they scaled pretty okay with current 2024 McFarlane bvs Batman and shazam Wonder Woman
I just can’t get on board with this line, though I want to! The extra articulation is so pronounced and breaks the sculpt so badly - that cut beneath the breast plate is super pronounced and I can’t stop starring at those ( what seems like useless) cuts at the top of the leg that almost look like thigh high boots. Ugh. This review is really useful though, because I had also totally written off the head. From pictures it just looked cross eyed and another bad head sculpt. With the closer look the head sculpt actually looks pretty excellent, it’s the eyes with the too simple blue dots that totally ruin it. This needs some of that realistic face tec badly. There just isn’t the care taken on the detail (a more appropriate expression for the alt head, more detailed paint apps, etc.) At this point I personally just jump to mafex or figuarts -
The SH Figuarts Supers is the one I’m most excited for. I agree that that some of the joints are pronounced. It’s the knees I find annoyingly ugly. I swapped out the head and I’ll likely end up having the head repainted cause those eyes are just sooo bad.
Can you comment on the durability of this figure?
I have mine still! Literally perfect, my wired cape hasn’t snapped, no joints have broken, and I still have the box to keep the accessories in. I swap between this figure and my McFarlane action comics 1,000 kitbash figure. I always thought the proportions weren’t perfect and I wish the boots were pointed straight, but this figure is amazing and if you ever ever see it buy it! 2024 and I still love this guy

I think they said its not cancelled just put on hold but its dcc for gods sake LOL
I hope the line it’s self is just put on hold but in my recent research since this videos uploading it seems that the line is cancelled. At least the figures that they have already shown us are never coming out. Maybe they will revive it with some Justice League movie figures at ToyFair perhaps? Let’s hope.

Did I hear you correct??... you said this figure is AS GOOD as a Mezco figure? This, sir is fighting words. I would have to kindly disagree wholeheartedly!! I have both the Mezco figure(s) and this figure and there is a HUGE difference. I would never compare this figure to a Mezco.

I think he was specifically referring to the Mezco BvS Superman figure? From down below the neck he looked solid but dang so few companies have really cracked the Cavill head sculpt/paint jobs.
Just repaint the heads and it'll be perfect
