DVD summary below:
In volume 6 of the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern, we’ll view freight operations from June of 1993 to April of 1995.
In the early 90’s, the R&N began loading culm from Swatara to be burned at the Co-Gen power plant at Nesquehoning. To make the long reversing trip easier and more efficient, they employed the practice of using power on both ends of the train. During this time, the R&N also picked up a variety of new businesses including World resources and others.
We’ll view the culm trains, including derailments, as well as a visit to Reading Anthracite to observe the loading of coal for QIT. We’ll then ride along on the Jeddo job from Port Clinton to Jeddo and return. Finally, we’ll witness the R&N’s purchase and painting of the fleet of hoppers for QIT loading in early 1995. As usual, Big Mike and Eddie Heck provide the commentary.

Fantastic video. We enjoyed watching and have a wonderful rest of your Friday.(Steve)
What did the scale said when Big Mike walked off? 0.5 mph? LOL I remember the scale saying "Reduce your speed" when 1 train was going a whopping 5.1mph
Is the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern the same company as Reading and Northern?
yes
Reading and Northern is just a shorter way to call the railroad.
Same company, just renamed. Reading and Northern rolls off the tounge easier.
Fantastic video 😊
Ardmore Boys!!! LOL

Enjoyed seeing this.2 questions. Are the clum plants operating and are they still mining Jeddo?
Not sure about the Clum plants but Jeddo still sees sporadic service.
Any video is way better, with comments and appearance from Mike Bednar!!
