Yes it is true three cylinder and also prototypical chain driven valve gear.

Thanks for watching. If you refer to 70038 ‘Robin Hood’ then no it is not a kit, it was built by a very talented model engineer called Alan Gent of the Nottingham Society of Model Engineers, Alan has made many superb engines over the years.
