You’ll notice from this point on that Zuko no longer grunts or shouts when he bends fire. You can even go back to older episodes and you’ll notice how much noise Zuko makes when he firebends.
I think it is said somewhere in the series that they watched the tides come in and out because of the moon and learned water bending that way. They probably then began to believe in a spirit of the moon.
They are both the physical manifestation of the sea and the moon, but also quite literally them Think of them like the primordial gods from Greek mythology
the first waterbending moves / forms were invented by watching waves and mimicking the push and pull of the tides -- the moon pulls while the ocean pushes; and in the s1 finale aang joined with the ocean spirit to become the water koi kaiju thing; hence why his avatar state doesn't exactly do something on that scale ever again
The reason people always say the moon is the first water bender is because of the story Yue tells where she says that the legends say the moon was the first water bender
true they broke their promise but then again They only told trustworthy people and we don't know if they told the location of the dragons to the others but your point Still Standing
The chanting is actually the avatar theme song, it's the one that plays at the end of every episode at the end you know when the credits roll, which is pretty cool that it's actually the sun war chant it's cool that we've been hearing it this whole show and didn't even know.😊
If you look closely, you can see the difference in Zuko's and Aang's firebending animation before and after they learned the secret from the dragons. Now it looks more alive ^^
Now that we know that the sun warriors are still alive and that the dragons are still alive I bet that glowing egg was a dragons egg and what he felt inside that was alive was a baby dragon carrying on to show that dragons are gonna make a comeback they're like protecting the last ones and that the two that are there are not the last two, that would make sense I think, also the two dragons ran inshore I'm pretty sure our a female and a male, because in Zuko's dream there was a blue dragon and a red dragon that circled him when he was fire Lord and one of them had the voice of a Zola and one of them had the voice of Iro which I think means something aside from being foreshadow into this episode.
@@lasseehrenreich5502 well I've never seen Cora, but that's pretty cool, I bet it was this egg that would make it even funnier like the egg that he held was the actual egg of the dragon he had as a grown-up, that would make it hilarious although it would depend how much time had passed when he got the dragon like how old he was but I thought that would be an extra cool detail if it was that specific egg.
@@AshleysAdvice It was confirmed to be that specificly that egg. So I like to think zuko chose to bond with the young dragon to make up for his ancestors crimes against them.also we from roku dragon they can live quite long probably a 100 years. And korra takes places around 70 years after Avatar
The "original waterbender" was the moon though it doesn't really fit in this context I've always thought if it HAD to be an animal it'd be somekind of avatar world Orca-variant or something. real life orca's use their speend and fins to create waves to knock prey off floating ice, and I thought it looked pretty waterbend-y
Surprised nobody has said it so I'll just go ahead and do the mandatory comment for this episode: You can tell how bad the fire nation has fallen by realizing that one of the original forms of firebending is a dance. Remember at the beginning of th season what was prohibited in the schools of the fire nation? Exactly: Dancing, haha. I love the writing of this series
So the original benders are Flying Bisons, the Moon, Badgermoles, and Dragons - I’m just going to say it - one of those is not like the others - but seriously this episode is awesome! that Zuko having let himself define by his hunt for the Avatar for so long that his lost of self from shifting side seriously weakening his fire bending makes sense - so that he and Aang venture to the Sun Warriors home - the original fire benders where they learn the true meaning of fire about how it is not about pain and destruction but life and warmth - Aang talking about being a kid in past tense - it really indicates how much he has matured that he considers his childhood behind him - also a really fun fact: according to one of the writers all the other Sun Warriors hold secret meetings about how much they dislike Ham Ghao that’s not really relevant to the rest of my comment but it’s just too fun not to share

19:24 is this the first time "this is gonna be my thumbnail" is actually the thumbnail?!
Nope
The original water benders were that two fish spirits, people just say it's the moon because one of them were the moon spirit (I think)
Well it's the moon and ocean spirit. Physical forms are two fish, yes, but it is still the spirits of the moon and the ocean

Aang and zuko really are brothers, you nailed that dynamic
21:37 "Don't tell anyone!"
*Immediately tells everyone.*

4:34 yes you do, he is the most important member of our group.
9:00 that is why they call him Dragon of the West.
13:10 it's definitely not because they're hiding from fire nation.
Would anyone from the fire Nation Evan Come there ? I mean their public schools are full of propaganda so maybe only the royal family knows it
This is definitely in my top 10 favorite episodes of the show
min too
Nothing beats a good ol life changing field trip with Zuko.
5:40 The original waterbender is the moon spirit, different from the other waterbenders and the only one whose origin is spiritual.
Blood bending and now Dragons - how much else are you going to predict right Sapphire LOL
19:15 fun fact: Zuko’s scar is on the wrong side of his face right here
Actually, judging by Aang's clothes and Zuko's sword, it seems that the shot itself is mirrored for some reason.
well in any case, this is the scene they are referencing in the later episode where the kid tells Zuko that.

zuko dos have a dragon in korra it was confirmed that hatched from the sun warriors egg by one of the writer's

The original waterbenders were the koi fish in the North Pole, one of the was the moon and the other was the ocean.
