- Footage from my second time spearfishing in Mendocino. I was able to take my kayak out back to back days because of the low swell and ended up getting my personal best ling on the last day. Hope you guys enjoy!
If your are interested in diving around this area shoot me an email or DM me on instagram. Both are listed down below.

Can you use scuba equipment for spearfishing?
Getting my family into spearfishing. Hope to get the gear by spring of 2025. We r looking for groups/friends to go with.
very nice
👍
Is there a size limit when spearfishing?
Can we go spear fishing with you when it’s getting warmer?
The second ling you shot was nesting. The big males sit on the eggs to protect them. Those eggs are wasted now. Don’t shoot the nesters.
Those lings wanted to become dinner lmfao. Nice spearing man 🍻
👍
Dope tricks bro! 🤙 never seen that attraction method before 👏🙌
👍
Nice place to dive lots of fish... I had a damn white shark make a half circle and keep going here.... I don’t feel the same diving anymore. Nice video, looks like a good visibility day.
Damn that sounds like quite the experience haha, I’d probably feel the same.
Congrats man.
🤙
Dude what a beautiful place. Where is that? I’ve been looking for a clear place like that to spear, and it looks calm. I haven’t been able to find a clear and calm area like that.
Usually depends on the conditions! Anywhere can be clear on the right day
Recipe for that dish at the end? Capaccio?
Crudo!
Nice work! I’ve always dove w/out a float but stringing your fish on the float line and leaving the gun at the bottom seemed to attract more fish (that bigger Ling you got). How are you doing that? Take the fish to the surface, detach the float line from the gun and the string it through the gills and then let it sink again? Also what is the stopper mechanism you have to keep the fish from moving up the float line?
I love diving there it is my favorite spot. For some reason, whenever I dive there visibility is always great. Thanks for the great video. Did you have a chance to weigh the Ling?
Yeah ended up weighing 16lbs. Stomach was completely empty which didn’t help haha.
Real nice lingcod!
Are those Ling Bony fish? Never seen one, but they look similar to the Sargent Bakers we get down here which have a second row of bones. We normally use them as bait, they are great bait oily. But last week a lad I know was telling me he eats them and they are good chew if you get the bones out. Anyway, nice video, cheers for sharing it!
Not at all. These fish are some of the best in the world (cooked not raw).
Excellent video! Get your ass back in the water! Share!!! Loved it.
👍
awesome vid. out of curiosity, why do you drop the gun on the ground and grab it once you are on the bottom?
👍
Nice ling and copper! Looks like you had some great visibility too!
👍
Awesome footage and catches! What was that dish as the end of the video and how can I make it??
Thanks! It is a rockfish carpaccio, very easy to make. Just slice some sashimi and pour olive oil, lemon, and soy sauce on top.
daaannnggg that was so awesome the lingcods coming up to you. dang I'm so jealous, STILL have not been able to catch a lingcod!! Well, I'll be trying again in a week. If you have to chance, please check out my spearfishing vids recently as well!
🤙
